And....try $30,000!!......a YEAR!!

HOLY TOLEDO, BATMAN, AND GUACAMOLE!!!!!!!:earseek: :earseek: :earseek: :earseek:

As a parent with a DD who's a Junior in HS and a DS who's in 8th grade - I do know what to know that!!:(

Is the school in Washington much cheaper? My kids will have to sell their blood if they want to go there!

Pam

State schools are cheaper. So if you go to a state college or university you can save a lot!!
CM is a private school.

I think both of my kids are paying about $17,000 or so now......but DS lives off campus.

LOL....thanks Jennifer but he already declined an interview in MN.
I think he should have looked anyway, but he didn't want to.
He's had about 10-15 first-interviews, so we'll see how it goes after the new year. That's when the call backs will start.
He does have a second interview mid-January with Microsoft
DH is also an engineer and he isn't too thrilled about that, but a job is a job (at least to start with).

What kind of product of service does your husband's company develope?

Yep, I picked the 7 am flight so I could get there as soon as possible :teeth:

OMGoodness!!! The cost of your colleges just astounds me!!! My brother (early 90s) paid about $25K/year but had scholarships. I went to a state school so for everything (dorm costs too) I think a total of $35-38K was spent. I am still paying off about $13K of that too

I decided to wait to do the rest of my packing until tomorrow. I will look at the weather forecast tomorrow and make my final adjustments then. I have to update a few things on my Palm so I will be sure to have everything for next week.

Kind of hard to describe what his company does Nancy. They have created and maintain a web site that companies ( such as Kraft and Ford) use for their employees it compare insurance plans and benefits. Until Ed started there, the company owned the idea and did the sales end of everything, but outsourced the code to a contractor. They did a horrible job writing the code, so his first job was to hire eng.s to rewrite and fix the existing code before improving on it. He likes a challenge!! Only about 20 people in this company, he likes small organizations.

It is quiet in the house tonight!

Jennifer.....sounds like they don't do much hiring if only 20 people ;)
DH's company is up to 50 now.....but they just had lay-offs :(

Something will turn up for DS. He has a great GPA and loads of intership time in. He would like to work for the company that he interned for, but they aren't hiring at the moment....but maybe that will change soon.

Okay...no one around.....again!
So off I go with my book and hope to get some sleep tonight. I am getting majorly sleep deprived :(

Good night all.
Good morning Carol  Have another fun day with Tiggerlover!

Did you all notice that Jennifer just recently passed 3000 posts :bounce:

Nancy, Marilyn, Anyone!!!!
Elaine just yelled at me!:( (And she used to be so nice and quiet!)

She said:
QUIET EVERYONE!!!

And she said it really, really loud (and kind of mean, too!)

Make her go to time-out - for at least a week. And let me go to WDW in her place!!:Pinkbounc

Take that Little Miss Neener-Weiner Pants! :p
Pam

Pam, Pam, Pam.... did you finally learn that there is a little devil behind that angelic side of me :p

Well all I am heading to bed now (boy this place echos when it is quiet). See you in the morning :)

Pam, Pam, Pam.... did you finally learn that there is a little devil behind that angelic side of me
Big newsflash.

Pam, We do have pheasants and turkeys around here but not sure about grouse. I'm not even sure what that is. LOL! I'm not too up on my birds, but I don't know if the coloring was right for either a pheasant or turkey... it was a lot of white and varying shades of light and medium brown. :( Does that help any? All I saw was his under side as he banked and made a HARD left to try and avoid the collision. If it hadn't been for the fact that I heard no impact, I would've sworn he hit, he was right on top of me....He skeered me! :o

Me rallying YaYas? Against you Jodie?! Well.... I did consider it for a moment, but then you noticed I'm sure, that I then decided Jay would be a better target, what with him being gone longer, not to mention the that he's a notorious skimmer and all would definitely be in our favor.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BETH!!!!!

Sorry I'm late.

You're right Elaine - Dis meets are gooood! Want to be the next one? I'm getting quite good at the tourist guide thing! Have a great trip!

Nancy - now you won't be paing for Geoff any more soon, you could come here with the money you'll be saving! Well I think it's a good idea.

Jennifer, fingers crossed about the yarn today. Please!

Time to get ready for Part II of the German Dis-con! Wish you were all here too!

Oh poop! I hate it when I do this! I forgot something...

CONGRATULATIONS to Pam (2k) and Jennifer on 3k! Wooo hooo!!!! I'd suggest a YaYa party with any and all available cabana boys, but it's been so darn quiet around here lately, I'm beginning to think ya'll must be partied out or sumpin'. ;)

Hi Carol!

JENNIFER HIT 3000!!!!! (ok now really ladies...is anyone surprised over this???? She IS the mothiest ya know!!!) Can't wait for the next 3K Jennifer!!!

Good morning Ya Yas!! Quiet it's been has it? Well it is a busy time of year, but Dream is in the house tonight and might she ever so humbly suggest a PARTY tonight???? Who's in?:teeth:

Good morning all.

I punked out early last night. FOR NO GOOD REASON either....maybe I'm gettin' old........

Thanks for the congrats.....kind of an embarrassing milestone...but oh well, what are you going to do......you dorks never did think of a new name for me so I could start back at one.......

Got all the decortations up yesterday...'cept the tree....so I guess it's GS meeting organizing today......I'll be around tonight to PARTY!!!!!:p

Carol...squezzing my eyes tight, clicking my heels AND crossing my fingers for your yarn!!! I feel your pain sister!!!!!

Good morning, Carol & Jodie! And anybody else who might be up!

Well, it's official...I'm really excited now! I have a "rule" that on days when I can sleep in, I won't get out of bed until it's at least 7 AM. This morning I couldn't get back to sleep--my brain was in a frenzy going over what clothes I want to pack and all the little loose ends I need to tie up today. So, by 7 I was munching an Eggo waffle and reprinting some pix for Dis Con!

Hope those of you who are staying home will take good care of my boys--Patrick Stewart and Mel Gibson. Patrick reads a wonderful bedtime story and Mel is the best pillow fluffer I have ever seen. Feel free to put them to work, although no heavy labor, please. Can't have rough, calloused hands, ya know!

Jodie, if you're gonna throw a party, I'm sure Marilyn & Carol will open up our den/lounge/dance hall and turn on the disco ball with the laser lights! You'll have to BYOB, though, I think we drank all the wine.

Carol, I'm glad the German Dis meet isn't over yet and you all are having a great time! Did you shop till you dropped at the Christmas market??!!!!

MARILYN!!!! Wanted to get your attention, in case you are skimming. Just wanted to thank you and your DH for the sweet birthday phone call last night! And apologize for the crack I made about your singing yesterday morning. You and Charlie sounded pretty darn good to me!!!!!! Thank you soooooo much, sis. You are the bestest!!!!!

Just so you all can be jealous--Marilyn and her hubby called me on my cell phone last night while I was shopping at Michael's!!! And they sang me a birthday song Charlie wrote just for me! Bet not many of you have ever had an original birthday song sung to you while you're shopping!

Hi, Jennifer! Nice to see you too, this morning. Almost missed you, you popped in while I was posting.

Morning Beth!! Now you've got ME all excited to go and my trip is a good 60+ days away!!! I think I might have to do dome trip planning today to get a little magic going over here.

Carol....I have 1 glove done for myself, and wearing it now, boy is it warm!!! (of course it does nothing for my spelling  )

Oh BTW, Marilyn.....ya know that orange sequined halter top you loaned me? Well, it got a little singed......that flame thrower has one HOT mustache!!! and the knife thrower was having such fun nicking off the sequins one by one....by one...by one....by one.... Suffice it to say that there isn't much left but the halter strings. Even those are kinda stretched out.......

Beth,
All I can say is "Hubba, Hubba!!":earseek:
Pam

Elaine,
Me thinks that devil is just a wee bit bigger than little!;)

Kim,
That sounds exactly like a grouse - they are shaped like a pheasant are a very plain brown in different shades in color.

Thanks everyone for the congrats on hitting 2,000 - again!! I lost posts a couple of years ago - over 500 when the boards crashed and then I lost another 400 or 500 a couple of week ago........ so my total is really much higher.......

I'm off to pick up DS and take him to sell Christmas trees with the Troop. WE hope to go to West Virginia tonight to see the lights at Oglebay but it seems as though a big snowstorm is heading in - so we'll have to wait and see.

Everyone who is traveling - be careful and have fun!!
Pam
