And did they say fRitter or fLitter?

BTW - I think you missed the link to the next Lasting thread way back on page 250-something. Are you signing up for another round?

I haven't been to Billy Kwong's. Heard mixed reviews about it. Sounds like Tsetuya's is the better choice.

Where in Sydney am I likely to get anything for around $120 that's on the "good" side?
I don't think I've done less than $180 a night in Sydney and that's for a 3 - 3.5 star place.

We stayed in a one bed apartment for an average $180 a night last week. In a meriton 4*

However on shows like Sydney weekender they had some specials for $120 a night at some good places but it was just a hotel room. They were places around the Rocks, harbour, quay...really not too bad. Plus occasionally travel zoo has good prices. But.....it really depends on availability.
This all assumes only 2 people.

I was tempted to take one at the sebel which included parking but again...we wanted the space and a kitchen

I saw but didn't click...

The choice was entirely DBF.
He knew about the other but was wanting this one...
I'm not the foodie so this was his choice. If you want a steak in Sydney the ONLY place to go is Icebergs...

That's about what I normally pay in Sydney. I think we got a "deal" once. At one of the Pacific International Apartments in Chinatown. It was about $375 for 2 nights; with a playstation thrown in for a studio room.

Last time I stayed overnight in Sydney, it was to attend a wedding in Double Bay. We stayed at one of the hotels there...must have paid about $200 per night. No kids invited; so DH and I thought we'd have the weekend to ourselves. We flew out on a Thursday night....right bang smack into a thunderstorm at Sydney airports. We were supposed to have gotten to our hotel by 8.30 pm. We touched down at 9 pm and the plane sat on the tarmac for over 2 hours before the storm passed and we were allowed to head to the terminal. And then the mad dash for taxi's. We finally got one past 12.30 am and got to our hotel after 1 am.
At least we could call the hotel from the plane to let them know. And they were very kind...because when we finally checked in and got to our room, we'd been upgraded to a suite!

Not Rockpool?

Gotta say....I went to Rockpool in Melbourne. The Waygu beef was really nice and about the only time I ordered my beef rare; rather than medium rare. No point having waygu beef unless it's rare. Not sure I'd rush back there in a hurry.

I've heard really mixed reviews about Rockpool so I've never gone. We've been to Icebergs twice now and each time DBF has been floored by how perfect the steak is.

Sounds like a fun time visiting Sydney :headache: it's usually fog that causes problems rather than storms. Not that we don't get them...lol...just you will get diverted if there's a thick fog.
At least you got the upgrade.

Yeah....it came with an enormous spa bath. But we were both soooooo tired, we grabbed a shower and crashed. The wedding was on a Friday; so we had to get up really early to get ready.

Understandable...
But at least you got there eventually.
Just went through the first 3G Blackhole :lmao: and there will probably be more as we go country .... Sigh....even Telstra letting us down. ;)

So you have any special plans for while DH is away? Or just the usual mum's taxi service?? How long is he gone for?

DH is gone from Saturday and will be back Sunday week.

This weekend is the Suzuki music grand annual concert on Sunday. That's what we'll be doing....pretty much all day.
DS has an activity on Saturday but he wants to skip the class....I might just let him.

Then the week is pretty normal and crazy.

Next weekend is the Taste of Melbourne. I've gotten tickets for that for the Sunday lunch. We're hoping that DH's plane arrives in time for him to come home and shower before we head out. However, I suspect that it's more likely that we meet him there instead.
DS has a birthday party to go to on Saturday; so I might get some time off then....to clean the house!

Oh I hope the Suzuki concert goes well :) wishing him the best.

You can never tell with international flights. But hopefully he will get a bit of a break...

Oh joy.....a group of about 8 drunk teenagers just joined the carriage. Some kind of party get up on......sigh....
I've about 50mins to go

Arrrggghhhhh I clocked over to 3000 and missed it....
Darn it....
Where's a time machine when you need it...

Yo ho yo ho a pirates life for me......
Yay for noise canceling headphones and an iPod full of Disney music :)

And now we're traveling down main street....

Sorry. DH and DS came home and we had dinner to eat.

Are you there yet and have the rowdy party left?

Congrats on 3K.

Lol...no worries

Am here. Lovely place. Will take some photos of the grounds. The rooms are already a bit 'lived in' :lmao:

Night night....

Wow! The night shift has been busy! last for now will catch up later!
