Have a nice dinner!

Shopping at the market is always a pleasure and this morning, I had the indulgence of being by myself. DH and DS stayed home and my friends had something else on. So, I took some extra time to just meander and have a look at some of the other stalls/shops that I don't normally visit. I ended up getting some Christmas tea towels. Yes, I've started my Christmas shopping. Already picked up about 3 potential gifts that I can give to DS teachers.

I'm sitting down. I have swordfish marinating. I need to go back to the kitchen and cut strawberries for strawberry soup and green beans to go with the swordfish. Then I need to make the stuff.

Have fun at Dinner Usnuz! I wish I was going out, but I can better control calories at home.

Glad you enjoyed your shopping. We have nothing so exotic here (that I know of), just Ralphs, with beggars outside asking you for money for homeless people. :sad2:

Back inside at LAST.

Been out weeding the garden. It going to be a long weekend. I've decided I need to get someone in to prune my citrus fruit trees. DH and I keep looking at them promising that we'll do it; but really, they are now beyond our capabilities and height to do a decent job. Plus, we don't really have the right tools for it.

So, I'm going to let my fingers do the walking on Monday and call a couple of tree loppers and see if any of them are any good and if they will come and do the job for us.

In the meantime, I'll continue with the weeding.

Is that for your meal or so far for the day? Where are you dining?

We went out to MiMis. I had my breakfast for 240. But I only ate my soup which was 247 calories and the other dinner came home. How many calories are you eating? I am only suppose to eat 1300 a day.

So...whilst Firefly and I were conversing on the Gamers DisMeet thread, I was having a mild panic attack.

Tomorrow is Father's Day here in Oz and I KNEW I had gotten some gifts earlier in the year for DH. So, I had pretty much been rather relaxed about FD present. I've just spent the last hour looking high and low for the gifts.....and wouldn't you know it....

Found them in the LAST place I looked. :teeth:

Panic Attack over.

Why only 1300? You aren't overweight! I should do that but I'm lucky to do 2500 I don't count, but I try to be good. Unfortunately I'm probably going to go wat a slice of peanut butter toast.

Sorry...checking on dinner and the phone rang (MiL).

:rotfl: Where did you find them? And what are they? :teeth:

I found them in my wardrobe. I thought I had hidden them in the presents cupboard that I keep but they weren't there. So, I thought they were in the wardrobe. When I first looked, I couldn't find them there.....and then the hunt was on. I'm a creature of habits. If I don't store things in the places I allocate, I never know what I've done with it.

After trying not to look like I was looking for something, I finally exhausted all possible hidey-holes in the house. Eventually, I upended the presents cupboard again and decided that they must be in the wardrobe. I had to go digging. I hid them in a handbag that I rarely use. I've only got about 15 handbags! :rolleyes1

DH and I have agreed to keep the presents on the 'smallish' and 'inexpensive' side at FD and MD. So, I found a set of pencils in the shape of drum sticks (DH is a drummer) and some fridge magnets with guitar shapes. I also got him another beanie for his head.

:sad1: I'm starving here.

I've been really, really, really good today. Just had a lamb and spinach borek for breakfast with coffee whilst I was at the market. Lunch was 2 hard boiled eggs with 1 piece of bread.
Dinner is going to be rice porridge, some pickled chinese mustard stir fried with celery and salted ducks egg.

:lmao: Isn't it fun when things get "lost"? I was looking for my bus pass the other day and upended my purse on the dining room table. Then I remembered it was in my other bag.

The presents sound cute, though! :yay:

I've ended up spending less than $20 on the FD presents this year. Oh...now....about $22. Gotta include the card. Believe me....for Oz prices....that's doing really well.

A borek, is not a Borat..

It is a Turkish savoury pastry. Its like having a bread dough on the outside and a filling inside. The one I had today was more like this.

I'm going to have to take my camera to the market next time and grab a picture of the shop. It's fantastic....and only $2.50 per serve.

And if you and Fran come visit, there is a Sunday craft market in the city. There are a family there that makes and sells boreks fresh like this.....where the pastry is bit more flakey rather than doughey.
