working together in the mine for years, these guys were not total strangers, I'm sure they knew each other, at least at work, very well.

There were actually 6 rescue workers down there at the end. They aren't really showing them coming up on Fox.

Thank God, I think it is truly a miracle that they survived that long. It kind of made me sad to know that when a mine collapses here in the US, our men(and maybe some women) don't even have a prayer.

His girlfriend showed up at his house to tell the wife that they were in the cave-in. When the wife found out about the girlfriend, she told her she could have him. The girlfriend was at the mine site when he came to the surface, not the wife.

I'm glad they are all safe and sound. It's amazing hopefully they all do well from now on.

to me, this is a GREAT story!!! I applaud the Chilean government for their quick action, and I love the way many nations came together to help.
after being INNUNDATED!! with political commercials, phone calls,knocks at my door. I didn't mind hearing about tconstantly. this was just such a happy story, with a good ending!!!
I have claustrophobia, and I can only imagine what these poor guys dealt with. I really felt for the 19 year old, with his panic attacks.
I loved the story about the guy who took charge, and the other guy, who became like the "emcee" and the "entertainer". and the guy whose wife had the baby while he was down there. (and I am sorry and embarrassed that I don't know their names).
this whole story just makes me HAPPY and not many news stories these days do that!!!

Actually the miners family said that the miner left the wife and moved in with the girlfriend some months back. Not quite as salacious as the media is making it out to be.
