So just so you know why I am so late getting on. MY son has had a high fever since last Thursday. He doesn't show any puss around his tonsils which are very swollen. Today he went in for another Dr. visit since he isn't getting better. Since no puss was visible again, the Dr. ordered a cat scan to see if an abcess had formed inside the tonsils. Cat Scan was aweful for him. I've never had one but he was very distrustful of everything. No visible abcess that would require a toncilectomy. Now he will be getting some anitbiotic that I have never heard of. That was part of my day.

Have you tried joint supplements for him? Or cortisone shots? Then there is nerve blocking.... the problem with that though is that the animal feels no pain... so the damage can end up becoming worse. then there is the combination of traditional and holistic approaches that can be utilized, and I suggest consulting those experts in the field.

My Jake who is a 10 year old King Labrador (quite old for a dog this big)
King Labrador = regular Lab + , he weighs 149 lbs no fat all muscle
he has had severe arthritis in his right rear hip his whole life due to an accident when he was a puppy. For years we spent a fortune on supplements & meds to keep him as comfortable as possible especially during the cold winter months here in Montana. Then someone steered us toward something that was our personal miracle and costs us for a year what we had been paying per month for several years. Don't know that it would work for every dog but couldn't hurt to try it.

On a less graphic note. The rest of my day was occupied by....skiing.

My sister is in town to visit our immediate family. Quite the treat since she has been working full time and going to school semi full time, since it's grad school she has some flexibility. Anyway she is invited on a ski trip across the country from where she lives in Tahoe in a couple months.

One problem, she has only snow boarded a few times and wants to ski like awesome brothers do. So she wanted me to teach her.

Second problem, the already mention dr appointment.

Third problem, it snowed another 8 inches.

So I got up plowed. Sis and I got ready to ski though I put dockers over my long underwear and threw my ski pants in the car. I took her to sports authority in town to rent her skis, but I went to the doctor. As you may of seen this quick dotor appointment turned into a very expensive two hours. Because it was now past 1 and I hadn't eaten we went to the Taco Bell which is almost next to Garts sports.

Order was totally messed up as usual at TB and the food, eh.

So where to ski. Idea was at the town hill because it's cheaper than the big area. But to put this in DL terms. I have a socal pass to DL, but it isn't good today. Do I by a blockout pass or a pass to Knotts, to which I have a coupon for half off?

Turns out the big hill(DL) has a special pass for the begginer chairs and I can't find my coupon to the town hill (knotts) anyway. So we left town for the real ski area. Got there about 2 and by 4 she can ski. We left casually. I went home changed and drove her back to town to meet a freind she is staying the night with. I sent them off with a bottle of wine, so I hope they make good use of it.

That's great you have a happy doggie again. It's so sad to see dogs age but I'm glad he is doing better.
