The Inlaws are coming, the Inlaws are coming. June 2-12-2011 PTR- UPDATED 10/20

We were at the inlaws last night. I got to briefly talk with FIL about food. He seems to be in the same mindset as us... breakfast buffets. He said that they never made their trips about food. So with that said I get to pick whatever I (we) want. :)

I'm thinking Crystal Palace and Tusker House for breakfast, although I'm toying with the idea of Askerhaus because of the princesses. Is it any good?

I'm going to reserve the tea at the Grand Floridian also.

The Plaza prices seem reasonable but FIl did mention that Lady and the Tramp is his favorite movie so now I'm considering Tony's.

I also think the il's may get a kick out of either the 50's prime time cafe or Sci fi.

I think I'll skip ADR's at Ak and epcot unless we decide to do Askerhaus.

I also need a restaurant for date night. We really loved Ohana last year but we're open to something new also. Thoughts?

Askerhaus is by far our favorite character meal. We have only done breakfast and LOVE the food. The "fresh" bar is filled with all sorts of fruits, cheeses, pastries, smoked salmon -- it is a European/Norwegian thing. Then they bring you big family style hot breakfast dishes to your table - cheesy potatoes, bacon, sausage, eggs, juice, coffee..can't remember what else. The princesses are great too. and we have never felt rushed. We did the castle once and said never again, not worth the $ for what you get.

that said, I've never done Tusker House or Crystal Palace, though CP is on our list for May.

Oh, and while you are reflecting on June 6, that will mark 19 years for us. I hope to be at WDW next year on the 6th for our 20th. :bride:

sorry you will have a dozen replies from me till i catch up!!! I am just too opinionated:laughing:nd excited about WDW:banana: to keep my thoughts to myself.

I ended up finding a Darth VAder and a Princess Leia costume for half off. So instead of Ahsoka and Obi Wan Eric and Madeline will be Darth and Leia. Eric said "it's cool cause now I can say, Leia I am your father". lol
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

In other news, I"m down 13 pounds in 4 weeks. I haven't even started exercising yet. I hope to loose another 30 before out trip. If I can loose 2lbs a week then it's totally dooable. :)
:thumbsup2:cool1: Congrats on your weight loss!!! I am following WW's old point program (at home now, saving $) along with DH. He has lost over 90 lbs, me just a tad over 40 but hoping to be down another size or so before our trip in May. I will have to check out the WW discusson that Brooke mentioned. FYI on my PTR I have a list of CS restaurants in all the parks that DH & I looked at each menu & rated according to the # of "good choices" we could make - the higher the #, the better the choices. maybe it will help you. :cutie:

LOL! Good point! I do find myself craving chocolate lately!

YAY FOR DOUBLE DIGITS!!!!

chocolate cravings can be satisfied with Breyers low fat double chocolate chunk ice cream SOOOO yummy. and on old point system its 2 pts for 1/2 cup. not sure what it is on new system.

I have not tried this but my neighbor swears by them (she discovered this last summer)
she buys the chocolate whip cream in the can and pipes it into an ice cream cone...not sure which one she uses but I remember her saying it was only a point, and that it reminded her of a Wendy's frosty...

Hi Shannon! Need to go back and get caught up but for date night maybe try the Wave! We LOVE it. I think it is romantic and the food is awesome!

I realize I am WAY LATE to the party, but I am here anyway. ;)

I know the kids are cute and all but the BBB really is waaaay over the top on my budget. I am going to take my DD (7) to the Barber shop on Main St at the MK....$20 and she gets her hair done (and a trim, too!) and pretty sparkles. She will be just as happy with that, maybe more so, and we will have the $ for other things (like face paint, which she loved!) Just MHO

Yeah I think we're going to do the barber shop. I need to figure out how to make a reservation or if I really need to make one. Although Madeline has declared she wants to be like Rapunzel and won't cut her hair. lol

I almost made a reservation for Askerhaus but I got to the end and I would have had to pay for it. I''m just not that committed. I'm afraid we wouldn't be able to make it or something. I really don't know how my IL's are going to be with getting up and out to the parks early. It's really a wild card.

That sounds ok. I don't know if I could get over eating whipped cream only. Eric would love it though I"m sure.

The wave sounds yummy. Not sure my hubby would like it though. He's so picky!

New mugs!!!!!!!!!!! I just saw a picture of the new mugs. They are so cute. We're only staying at the Dolphin for 1 night ( we can use these here right?) but I need a muig!!

I just seen a picture of them on FB! they are adorable; but, I wish they would do at least four colors not just three every year. We always have to write our names on the tops. Not that that is a bad thing....but, soooo cute!

We'll probably just get 1 mug. I'll let Eric use it to get pop and then when we get home it will be MINE!

We made Madeline's hair cute appointment this morning. She's getting it done on the 5th at 11am. We have a lot scheduled for that day so I'm thinking we'll end up canceling Crystal Palace for that morning.

I think we're down to 87 days to go!

yep. She needs a haircut and wont' let anyone else cut it. lol So I'll just have them put it up and sprinkle the stuff in it. She'll aslo have her Princess Tians dress to wear if she wants it. I honestly don't know if we'll EVER let her do the BBB. Just doesn't seem worth it when she's perfectly content with mommy painting her nails ect. :)

I don't blame you; if they are able to put up her hair and put in sprinkles and you put on her nails, I would keep it going until you can't :thumbsup2

The new mugs are very cute! I saw ONE picture where they added a black lid/handle as well (I think on the DIS blog) making it 4 different colors, but I didn't see the black at all when I was there...so maybe they were slowly coming out? :confused3

It's so nice that the Barbershop makes appointments now, isn't it? When I went in for ours (which we ended up not doing), a guy waiting in the VERY long line said, "You take appointments now?!??!" Poor guy!

And I too would milk that barbershop while you can! If she's happy with that, GO FOR IT. ::yes:: I think it can be equally as magical, and it certainly is less painful on the wallet!

Yep, Madeline won't know the difference. Maybe next year we'll do the real thing. I dont' think we have enough time this year.

I'm starting to work out more details of our days in my head. I'll post about it soon. I'm trying to wait til our custom outfits come in the mail so I can post pictures of them along with our plans for the day we wear them. ;)

two months and two weeks; boy you are getting really close to your trip! how exciting1 :yay:

and you're getting close to your ADR day. :)

I've been researching hotels in Valdosta GA today. I need to find a suite cause M won't want to sleep with FIL ( I don't blame her) and it would be a bit weird for Eric to sleep with him at this point. :rotfl:

Let's talk about souvenirs!

Our list is getting longer and longer. :lmao: We bribe Madeline with money. She gets a dollar every time we catch her doing good, kind things and obeying us. She gets to spend her money on whatever. We recently convinced her to save it for Disney. She currently has $12. (Once she's mastered a certain issue we stop giving her dollars for that particular thing)

So far her list includes:
a new smashed penny book
a Mickey Mouse balloon
new autograph book
something Star Wars related
**we have yet to introduce her to pin trading, vinylmation trading or Duffy bear **

Eric's wish list is short:
Something Star Wars related

Duncan's wish list I've made for him:
mickey ears
some sort of stuffed animal

My wish list:
silhouette of the kids
a new pin or 2
Christmas Ornament
a new Resort Mug

## Madeline has yet another ear infection. Last night she was up like every hour and then at 5am threw up all over her bed and then our bed. We have an appointment for her on Monday to talk about tubes. She turns 4 in 6 days. I can't believe that much time has gone by already!!##

** Duncan is just about walking at 8 months old. He has also decided he doesn't need naps. I hope that remedies itself soon **

Up next I'll review some of our plans. I think they've changed slightly. Hopefully I'll know about MIL's plane reservations by then!

It's now Madeline's turn to get ear tubes. She'll get them on Monday the 4th. I'm glad cause her hearing is so bad right now. If I have to hear WHAT one more time I'm going to scream!

Good luck! with the tubes!!
we were lucky enough that none of our children needed them. Gwendolyn did have to have her tonsils removed by Kindergarten and I really felt they needed to come out before that. They were so bad she was unable to swallow food bigger than a pea. She would chew and chew and spit out her food and gag; use to drive me crazy. Then, Ashton had a vascular ring removed, Dayne has been problem free...

as for souvies, great list! I tried pins with Ashton last year but I have never done it, so we ended up only trading with one little boy the entire trip. I was thinking of letting him give vinylmations a try this go round. and I want a duffy bear.
