The Ingredients for Pixie Dust, a June 2010 TR - 10/2 DIsney Halloween PTR started!

AC Milan is a burgundy, Eric had one of those that he just grew out of and it's burgandy and orange with almost a smiley face design on the front and everyone just thought it was cool.

Hmmm... I think this is Roma you are describing? AC Milan is Red/Black/White -- The white Jersey Griffin is wearing is AC Milan. Their other Jersey is red and black striped. Roma is burgandy and orange and white... Was it a different team? Not that I am so up on Italian Soccer teams. I just pay attention to the colors!! LOL!

It seems that the TOTWL and the location are two great reasons to stay at BLT.:thumbsup2
Sounds like a yummy meal at Tutto.....yeah the waiters should be a good enough draw!! :lmao: Love the German knights......have you ever noticed that in your wine fogs your pictures are always aimed high? :rotfl2:

Tracy

Yes, those would be my two reasons for sure! :thumbsup2

You know, you might have something there.... I guess I like to look up... Now, ironically, I have a photo from the Animal Kingdom that I took of a beautiful yellow flowering tree against the blue of the sky.. I don't know if that was before my Lost of Safari or after. :lmao: Hey, they don't call us Slushie Lushie's for nothing...

I bought some more stuff at Target!
Last week a purchased a bubble blowing machine at 50% off and the kids have enjoyed it out by the pool.
The premium bubbles work best in it so I brought a bunch home today!
Plus some of those cool ocean balls, and an insulated drink carrier.
Right now I'm hunting the "Little Miss and Mr. Men characters so if anyone happens to find them....
They had them at my Target for .54 each!

Hey! SCORE!! A bubble machine!! :goodvibes

YOU mean the books, right? Is that what you are looking for? The books? The little Miss Late, etc.? Do they have "figures"?

I got so far behind. Love all the updates. I have never been to HS at night, hope to render that next trip!

I'm back and finally getting caught up. Love the story about how you got the title for this TR. Jealous that you has such great weather. Ours (right after you were there) was rainy and cloudy. But no one got a sunburn. No one got a suntan either mind you. Haven't eaten in the Italy pavillion since it was Afredo's. Went there on our disneymoon and I'm not ready to see it changed hands yet. I know it's better now so it's really just for sentimental reasons. How many times have I wished my kids would fall asleep during a restaurant meal. Okay so usually I just wish they weren't there or would stop whinning but I think I'll wish for falling asleep next time.

Ugh! Sorry about the sun factor, but was it better at times for the dancers? I saw the stage and was so thinking about you and your kids! They must have kicked that competition off just a day before you got there...

I totally get your sentimental reason... I never knew it as Alfredo's but I know what you mean by that... well when you are ready, it won't disappoint! So you can make new fond memories! Where is your TR??? You still have to finish the other, right?? Going to check now!!! :thumbsup2

:lmao:
Oh you and I are definitely cut from the same cloth.... I often have the same reaction at restaurants... :rotfl: I kept thinking, sooooo am I a bad mother because I am not trying to hard to wake them up??? :rolleyes1

Made it over and all caught up! I'm enjoying the latest Disney adventure! Cute pixie dust story!

Tutto's looks like a great meal! I would love to eat there someday!! I'm a huge fan of Italian food!

You have some great firework pictures!! They are fantastic!!!! :thumbsup2

Awww...love that the boys got to bring along a favorite toy!! That picture is too cute!!!

Today was our first day in the Animal Kingdom!

Originally, when I made our trip tour plans, I had hoped for us to head to AK that afternoon once we had checked in at BLT. But with me attending training, and then the boys on their own that day after the train ride, DH kept it simple, and we moved our AK day to day five of our trip. I was looking forward to it! So that morning we packed up and headed off to the Animal Kingdom for some fun! :yay:

Here is a shot over the bridge, you can see Everest peeking through!

Once inside the park, we hit the FP kiosk for show tickets, and then made our way over to Kali River Rapid Ride!!

I know, I know WET in the first fifteen minutes of the park opening. WELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL :rolleyes1 It was hot! LOL!

Here is DS5's "Kali" brand

summer2010198.jpg

This is one one of my favorite attractions for the theming. I just think it is so attractive!

These painted panels in the queue lines made us laugh!

I guess getting wet wasn't enough... we had to get wetter! LOL!

summer2010201.jpg

We went straight away for that ride and then once off, we headed over to the Dino Dig Site. In a short while we were going to be ready to get another FP and so DH and DS8 headed to Everest, to ride it and then grab another set. He got them for the Safari. DH was my hero this day, doing all the FP running. He also managed to nab a Jalepeno pretzel for stamina… As we walked past, I was sad to see that the Dawa Bar had yet to wake up.... BOO...

summer2010202.jpg

Here is DS5 romping in the Dig Site -- he is stomping on the footprints which "roar"!!!!

A few more random shots along the way today...

The yellow flowering tree was so beautiful, specifically in contrast to the blue sky, so I had to take a photo! LOL!!!

And NOOOOO Tracy I hadn't had anything to drink, so this is me with a clear head taking pictures of things with my camera pointed up in the air...

summer2010208.jpg

When he got back we headed back to the center for the Tree of Life and to catch up with Flick in It's Tough to be a Bug.
We still had some time before our lunch ADR at Yak and Yeti. Here are some more shots from Tough to be a Bug and the tree. Each time I see this tree I find a new animal, or a new carving in it. SUCH amazing artistry, really neat to just look at!

After our visit with Flick, there were no short supply of screaming crying kids this time ... we meandered back to find ourselves in front of Africa and a date with Yak and Yeti!!

MORE in the next post!!!!

A couple more of the Tree and It's Tough to be a Bug!

I tell you, this one always makes me laugh -- reminds me of the Potato Bugs in "Bugs LIfe" the movie, and my pair of "brothers"

We checked on the Safari before lunch, but the line was backed up all the way to the entrance (this was for the FP line!) We were really surprised, but shrugged it off and headed to have some lunch!

Look at this little prince! I love the decor in this place!!

We got lettuce cups and the potstickers, the boys used a TS credit, for lo mein which came with fried rice and carrots. They also were given a bowl of Chocolate pudding which was covered in marshmallows! I had a Yak Attak, and DH had a beer. Now much to our surprise, the TIW card was not honored at this restaurant – I was not impressed!!! But we used or AP discount, which wasn’t as much, but didn’t automatically include the 18% gratuity, so it probably all evened out in the end for such a small bill.

I really liked this restaurant – such neat décor! It was a great place to take a break from the crowds and heat. Nice people watching from above, too! So we went back outside to try our hand at the Safari again. We were faced AGAIN with massive massive lines. :confused3 I was really surprised, but we didn’t see anything or hear anything that would tell us it was down, etc. So we walked towards Kali. We got there, and discovered the ride was temporarily closed. :headache: For whatever reason, DH grabbed another set of FPs for it, because he could. The return time was within an hour and a half or so, because I think people were not getting the FPs to Kali since it was not working. Well, with only one other plan, we went ahead and walked towards Nemo’s show. Now it was getting hot, and this traversing across the AK was getting to all of us, so we got a lemonade slushie for the boys and a lost on Safari for us, and that took the edge off the back and forth!

YAY for the DAWA BAR...

summer2010218.jpg

You know, I really wouldn't mind these seats....

summer2010217.jpg

About now my battery AGAIN conked out. This was a surprise, because the batteries were from the recharger that we brought with us. DH thinks that even though they were charged, they may have lost some of the charge since they were sitting in the charger for so long, so he said he would not “pre charge” the batteries in the future, and do them right as we needed them (it only takes 10 minutes). So sadly I couldn’t try my hands at photos of Nemo this time.. it was as good as I remember it from before, though, and the kids loved it. Over February DS5 came home with a “Bruce” and he really loves his quips!

After our refreshment break, and Nemo, we were ready to make our final ride on Kali, so we crossed our fingers and headed over there. Well, it was still closed…:headache:

SO ready to call it a day at this point for sure! We started to walk out of the park with three sets of FPs that we couldn’t use!!! For some reason, I chose to stop at Guest Relations. I told them what had happened, that we were hoping to come back maybe for a few hours on another day, and asked if we could get FPs to use the ride on another visit this trip. Well, he didn’t hesitate. He gave me three sets of FPs good for any ride! :goodvibesSo though we left the park, we now had a reason to return and I was looking forward to putting the FPs to use!!!

COMING UP NEXT!! Pink Sparkling Wine, California Grill, and Kites!

Another fabulous update!!

YAY for a great AK morning!!! Kali on a hot day sounds like a great plan! You are right it does have some great theming!!

I always love seeing the pics of your boys playing in the playgrounds at Disney, they have the best time!

YAY for hubby doing the FP running, good man :thumbsup2

Yak and Yeti..so yummy!

What nice mom you are.. I always put Kali off a while before riding!

Love the detail pics, I missed AK this year. Unfortunately I think I am the only one who cares if we go to AK! The girls like it, DH not so much. Maybe someday during a non- summer trip he will change his mind.

I'm with Laura-I always make mine wait until later in the day to do Kali! I can't stand to walk around wet when it's hot-it makes me feel stickier or something?? Who knows!

It's odd that Kali was closed so long. I know the day we were there the line was soooo long-even the FP line. I couldn't believe it. Weird about the safari line too. :confused3 It's a shame that both of those were like that but score on the extra FP's!!

We loved Nemo too! I didn't get any pictures either-I was so hot and just wanted to sit in the cool and enjoy the show!

what a busy and HOT sounding morning!

How was the Yak Attack? I'm dying to try it.

That is SO cool that they exchanged your FP's! I wouldn't have even thought to ask, I am filing that away for sure.

Good thing you got on Kali when you could and I imagine the animals weren't even out if it was that hot.

Just going to say good for you going to guest services and letting them know about your unused fast passes!
AND I'm glad they made it up to you!

We have decided that we kind of like Yak and Yeti too!:goodvibes

I love your pics of AK! What a fun day! I would of done that too with the extra FPS.

I got so far behind. Love all the updates. I have never been to HS at night, hope to render that next trip!

Well it was great fun, so pretty. Definitely take time before Fantasmic if you can!

Made it over and all caught up! I'm enjoying the latest Disney adventure! Cute pixie dust story!

Hey! Welcome back! Yes it is an adventure in the making!!!

It was a great choice.. MAYBE you and Leslie can get that one in for your JANUARY trip!!??

Thanks on the pics! They turned out pretty well! I get better later in the trip!

They actually had their KP phone -- and you know how engaging those are!!!!

Great Epcot Day!! :thumbsup2

Love the pixie dusted bottom picture! :goodvibes

It was a good day, for a few mornings at the start of our trip we seemed "off" well, "off" by our normal touring, if you know what I mean. But that evolved after the next day, we started to be more efficient! But I feel silly saying that, because we enjoyed our pace. Maybe having gone so many times took the edge of urgency out of the equation!

Yak and Yeti..so yummy!

You know, it was you and LL who pushed me over the edge with Yak and Yeti from your last TR, so I had to do it. We were glad we tried this place! VERY tasty!

Thanks, Jen. I think, in true kid style, the playground would probably be all they would ever need. It is so easy to get lost in them! Literally and figuratively!!! ;) I stumbled upon them in the Dino Dig on our next day, and they were following some Star Wars story line, somewhere in the Galaxy... definitely NOT the Dino Dig playsite!

He was a big help at this park, he likes getting the FPs normally. I am the TSM FP person, because I don't mind merging into the stand by line after I get our FPs! He doesn't want to draw attention to himself. He is usually still at back so it isn't a problem. It is the only ride I do.

I think he likes the AK because of the way you can traverse back and forth through the trees, shade, see water, pretzels, eggrolls ... :rolleyes1

What nice mom you are.. I always put Kali off a while before riding!

That is so funny! You know, I just love it. I don't mind being wet, I wear my Patagonia shorts that I hike in on that day usually. They dry UBER fast!

Even still, he doesn't like being idle there.. so I have yet to really be leisurely at the AK, I think it has something to do with heat, too... the next time we go I will need to schedule an AK evening. It will be busy, but I would love to see the park at night.

Yes, I know! It was two hours at least (closed). We have never had that kind of wait, or with the Safari. It does appear something was wrong with that ride too. They knew that at Guest Relations, and so that probably helped. We had been there all day. It was now close to 3pm so they seemed willing to help.

Nemo is delightful! :)

what a busy and HOT sounding morning!

Good thing you got on Kali when you could and I imagine the animals weren't even out if it was that hot.

You know it was good. A little sweet, but that is to be expected -- it was a frozen drink, mango I thnk, but I prefered the Lost on Safari. Now someone here likes the Avalanche, I think CP or WigD, but I didn't try that. I like frozen drinks, but I prefered the Tangerine Dream at the pool, so I am glad I tried it but I wont get it again. It was perfect for the heat, though, so I would still get one if you want to!!

Well, I didn't think to either, if we run out of steam that is our choice, but the ride was closed easily for a few hours, and we had been there since 9. SO.....

I don't know about the animals. We actually saw several the next day when we went back, but we did the safari first thing. I think that is the key...
