Thank you! The last time we gifted these sweet friends points, I booked them at Kidani, and while it was a great stay, they were at the far, far end of the hallway! Of course they were so thankful for the stay, but that walk about did them in after a full park day!
Touring Plans room finder had most BWV rooms at 13-17 minutes away from transportation. When I’ve stayed there before, we had a boardwalk view and could just zip down a flight of stairs and come out right by the gift shop, so I wasn’t sure about the garden view rooms.

If they're at the far, far end by the tennis courts, which would be "view of quiet pool," that's about the longest walk to the elevators and might be ten minutes if walking slowly (e.g., me with blisters on my feet!). But even that is nowhere near as far from the elevators to the end of the hall at Kidani - we've been there, too!

About those balconies... Watched a few vid tours of the beautiful new STD STUDIOS... But it was weird that your balcony could be shared with room next door...We prefer balcony walls between neighbors. So how to request a PRIVATE balcony? View isn't important but I wouldn't like neighbors to be able to walk over for a chat or even to always be visible. Yes. We like our privacy.

That does sound weird - and neither DH nor I can recall our lockoff 1BR balcony being open to the studio balcony next door. Seems like there has been a divider of some kind, if not a wall, between the studio balcony and the living room balcony. However, we almost always book BW view, not standard, so maybe that makes the difference. Maybe you could request a dedicated studio?

Yes, very weird. We almost always stay standard view and have never had a shared balcony. But to be fair, I always make "dedicated" my first request. I prefer NOT to have the connecting door. But we have been assigned lockoff units and I don't remember a shared balcony for those, either.

As an aside. I currently am stalking/waitlisting my way into a 5 night trip Oct 2-7. As it stands I have the first 3 nights(oct 2-5) booked in a Standard View 1br and the 4th night(oct5-6) in a Pool View 1br. I have both those categories wait-listed for the 5th night (Oct6-7)

I have a couple questions....

What are my odds of getting one of those waitlists?

Assuming I get the Standard view for the final night. Is there any chance the front desk just lets me stay in a Standard view the entire trip? or will I have to change rooms 3x?

If I am going to have to change rooms 3x, I may just spend the 5th-7th at the Grand Flo as I have a Studio booked there as a backup.

There are a lot more P/G view villas than Standard view, so you’re much more likely to have the P/G WL fill.

But if you do get the Standard view for the last night, it’s unlikely they’ll let you stay in that room for your entire visit. Someone else will have reserved and been assigned to that room. You might even stay in a completely different room for that one night than you did for the earlier nights.

The diagrams @CarolMN referenced might be of help. If you want a quiet room I’d ask for “view of Activity (Croquet) Lawn or quiet pool” and “high floor.”

Odds to stay in the same room aren't good. BWV is nearly always fully booked. Odds of someone with a single night sv that would like a pv are probably not very good.

But there's still time for waitlist to work. Good luck! I hate to move also, but have recently been doing a split with VGF. That's starting to be a preferred option. Happy you have the back up.

Woohoo. Was able to switch October 5-6 into a Standard 1br that just popped up. So now I have the first 4 nights all booked in a standard 1br. Just waiting on the last night. But now, either way Standard or Pool. I'll only have to switch rooms 1 time at most. Fingers crossed.

And then an hour later got the final night in a standard. I was able to book it myself before my waitlist went through. Hence why I don’t trust waitlists.

I am looking for help with a room request for our stay in September in a 1 bedroom P/G room. We will have a stroller so the steps wouldn’t be of use for us. We would love a good view/partial BW view.

Also, I see some requesting a dedicated vs lockoff, besides the connecting door are there other differences to take into consideration?
