The I Love BWV (yes, Hallways and Clown Pool too!) Thread

Hi gang. We are new BWV owners and booked our first Villas side vacation for May ‘25. We have stayed in the inn side the past few years and fell in love with the place. We wait listed a 1 bedroom boardwalk view for our May ‘25 trip and that just came through this past weekend.

Since this will be our first time staying “on” the boardwalk, what are your suggestions for room requests? Floors or locations? Thanks in advance!
High floor far from the elevators are actually the best rooms for views of MK and Epcot fireworks. But many people think that the walk from the elevators to the end of the BW view rooms hallway is very long (doesn't bother me but it is a problem for some). So you might want to stick to "high floor." One other consideration is that some BW view rooms have a short or taller wall instead of an open railing on the balcony, which means that your view of the BW can be obstructed if you are sitting down. Others rather like the privacy that the wall provide. If you prefer the railing vs the wall, then maybe request "balcony with railing rather than wall."

Thanks for the great advice! Definitely will request a high floor.

Is there a stairway at the end of the hallway? That maybe an option if coming in from the boardwalk rather than the lobby.

Top floor.

I agree - we request high floor for reasons of BW noise as well as for the open railing balconies. And unfortunately most of the 1BR are a far walk down the hall from the elevators, because the GVs come first.

I have owned BWV for 22 years, so I rarely have a question LOL, but I have one now. Eons ago, we used to ship a box down, then ship one home from the business center when we left. Can we still do this?

Good question (and I have been an owner for 25 years!) I don't know but you would get more responses if you post this question as a new thread.

I believe so. They’ll charge you to receive the item and deliver to your room, and then they’ll charge you to ship the box from the business centre. The rates felt kind of exorbitant to me, but I don’t ship things much.

(Did this a year ago at the Beach Club, imagine Boardwalk would be similar.)

I used to do this years ago when we were still flying down to FL. The last time we did this it was a HUGE hassle. We arrived on a Sat or Sun; I can't remember which and the business office in the convention center was closed so we had a lot of trouble getting our package and I do believe we had to go down and pick it up. On the upside we didn't have to pay a delivery charge or tip since we picked it up :). I didn't have to ship anything back so I can't speak to that side of the process.

I would think you could call member services or the hotel directly to see if this service is still available and get the ins and outs of the process. Ultimately for us it became more of a hassle then it was worth. It worked great for a few years but then like everything else the process changed, and it wasn't going to work for us any longer.

Paying for the package doesn't concern me really. We are doing JN and thinking of dressing up, but I know we won't have enough room in our suitcases for that.

The entrance to the stairway at the end of the BW view hallways is on the 'back' side of the resort - walk around Jelly Rolls towards Swan and Dolphin, and around the back of Boardwalk - you'll see the little garden at the back and a path just past Jelly Rolls' service/trash area that takes you to the door for the stairway.

It's convenient when coming in from Epcot or DHS as well, or coming off the boats. You can exit the DHS boat at Swan, and walk over the bridge to that back staircase to get back to your room without having to boat all the way to Boardwalk (3rd boat stop) then walking from the center. Of course, if you have a high floor, just make sure you still have the energy after a long day of walking the parks to make it up 4+ flights of stairs. ;)

2nd floor (right above the closed Big River Grille Space, I believe).

As an aside, we watched a few people play the boardwalk games, but not many as they seemed overpriced ($10 for 5 basketball shots, $20 for 12). I honestly think if they halved those prices more than 2x as many people would play. And people playing would encourage others to also join in. That could change the vibe without really costing more in overhead (prizes that cost $.50-1.00). Also, if they added a boardwalk or even Disney logo to the prizes people would be even more likely to play.
I’ve been saying this for years - why not have Disney merch as prizes…definitely a missed opp

First Look at Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs Menu at Disney’s BoardWalk

IMG_5665.jpeg

The menu, which was previously announced to be similar to Blue Ribbon Corn Dog in Downtown Disney District at DisneylandResort, features five different kinds of corn dogs. There is the Classic Dog, Pickle Dog, Kid’s Dog, Mexican Street Dog, and Golden Dragon. The Kid’s Dog is $10.50, the Classic Dog is $12.50, and the remaining items are $15.50.

The location will also feature made-to-order cotton candy. Pink Vanilla cotton candy will cost $8 and pineapple will cost $9. Lemon and strawberry lemonade will also be available. 16-ounce drinks will cost $7 and 32-ounce drinks will cost $9. The location will also feature a “meal deal” where guests can add lemonade to any corndog and get $2 off their purchase. The final items on the menu are Dasani water for $5 and energy drinks for $6.

Hope this means it’s getting close to opening!

Good to see the selection...maybe June 2025 it'll be ready to open and I can try one. ;) Street corn dog, golden dragon, and classic all look good for me. Would have liked the hot link option from Disneyland too - but no complaints.

We are taking friends with us in December. We have a 2BR lock-off at BWV, garden/pool view. We are empty nesters but they have a 9yr old son with special needs (uses a wheelchair) and a baby. They don’t need an accessible room, but a room without a 20-minute walk to transport would be nice. Any suggestions on room requests?

Despite its reputation for long hallways, BWV honestly doesn’t have any villas that are a 20-minute walk from transportation (that’s Kidani!). So I personally would request based on desires for quiet during afternoon nap time (“view of quiet pool”) or if wanting to be close to the elevator (“view of Luna Park”).

Thank you! The last time we gifted these sweet friends points, I booked them at Kidani, and while it was a great stay, they were at the far, far end of the hallway! Of course they were so thankful for the stay, but that walk about did them in after a full park day! 😂
Touring Plans room finder had most BWV rooms at 13-17 minutes away from transportation. When I’ve stayed there before, we had a boardwalk view and could just zip down a flight of stairs and come out right by the gift shop, so I wasn’t sure about the garden view rooms.
