The "I gotta do something to pass the time"pre-trip report

maybe, I should just mention "it's a small world." That should take care of that.

It probably would, except i've never been on the ride (yet). So in the meantime i've got the Pirates of the Caribbean "duh.. duh.. duh-duh-duh-DUH-duh".

Thanks you two it's bad enough that I'm going crazy just lying here but now you got me singing songs that I can't get out of my head.

Okay here is what the DOC says about my knee ...I am to have a CAT done (can't have a MRI due to pacemaker for the bladder)on Monday and then they will know what the extent of the damage is but there is definitely fluid behind the knee so I will have to have that drained and possibly have to wear a knee immobilizer for a while.Hoping there is not a tear cause that would mean surgery.Send prayers and lots of pixie dust.
I am hopping around better today.My sisters took me today to the doctor and then afterwards wanted to go shopping at Wally World..Wal-mart and to our favorite thrift store well at the store I got to use a motorized wheel chair and man I about knocked over a whole display of Halloween candy those things are not as easy as they look to use.,mine was possessed.
I found a few things to add to my Disney packing collection such as a Mickey and a Minnie toothbrush my DH will freak out when he sees these(I won't tell him till we get to Disney) and I found some Disney kleenex's in individual pocket carry size.
Afterwards they treated me to Olive Gardens my favorite place to go for soup(zuppa tuscano) and salad. Maybe I'll play this injury for all it's worth.
Now I'm pooped and am going to lay down and rest till DH comes home.

I am just swimming and singing......................

i knocked over a Campbell's soup display once when i was about 10 and my aunt took me grocery shopping and decided *i* should push the cart. She didn't let me drive anything again til i was 16 and she decided to teach me to drive....in her car! (Don't worry, the soup was safe that time).

i hope the CT scan is helpful but doesn't bring bad news. How are you feeling now, other than the cabin fever? Well, i hope.

Doctors report:

Well the good news is the ligaments behind the knee are just stretched not torn and surgery is an option down the road.Hairline fracture.
Bad news there is fluid behind the knee so I have to have this drained having it done on Wednesday. Can you say OUCH.I've had this done before. Again with a warning to stay off it till it heals
They have me wearing a knee immobilizer.

More couch time...I am beginning to hate the couch. If you haven't noticed or guessed I am not a couch potato.
I miss my patients and they miss me.

I feel as if I'm sinking not swimming...singing the blues instead of It's a Small World....

Sorry to hear about more couch time. Ant other movies you need to catch up with? When I was pregnant wth DS13, I watched lots of classics.

Yes it was reported ,but there is an issue of pre-existing condition since I had injured the knee before.My insurance is covering it for now.

i'm sorry it wasn't such good news about your knee, but i'm so glad it wasn't worse news! You've got 41 days to get it all better - just focus on that while you re-watch movies and re-read some good books!

Today is my 100-day mark - i'm getting excited too. Maybe i'll even start a PTR.........

And we had to have the furnace man out our furnance wouldn't work, the igniter had to be replaced$251.00 more of my Disney money

I hope it doesn'r hurt too bad! I had a cortisone shot in my ankle once before I surgery and it hurt a ton!!

I had one of those pineapple drinks last week at the POLY. It's a Lapu Lapu and boy is it potent. I even asked the bartender to tone it down a little since I don't handle my liquor very well.

Update on knee:OUCH

I have only one question...how come they can't give you something to numb the pain from the numbing shot they give you so they can drain the knee.
All I can say is it was NOT a magical moment.
There was quite alot of fluid behind the knee cap no wonder it was hard to bend the knee.The pain shot is wearing off so I am to take some pain meds but don't like how dopey it makes me.
I have been sitting here with ice on the knee and freezing all afternoon.
But if all goes okay I should be able to return to my sweet little patients on Monday.I do so miss those darlings, I take care of 3 on a private duty basis, 2(88yrs old and 94 years old) live at an Assisted Living Facility and 1 still lives at home she is also 94 years old, I have been with her for 18 years I took care of her DH until he passed away 7 years ago. The others I have been with 10 years. I get really attached to them just like family to me.

Well gotta go I can feel the effects of the pain med kicking in the keys on my keyboard are getting smaller and smaller.

Your patients will be as glad to have you back as you'll be to see them again, and Monday's not so far away!! You were in my thoughts today, and i'm sure those of the praying persuasion put in a good word for you, too!

i did start a trip report so that might give you a few minutes' worth of something to do (shameless self-promotion).

i don't have any lapu lapus on hand but i do have a chocolate-mint iced cappucino, want one of those?

This is so ironic just as you were posting on here I was reading your PTR then came over here to find you had posted on mine.
I'm glad you decided to do one it does help pass the time.

I would love to have a chocolate-mint iced cappucino, I love cappucino's but unfortunately but bladder and kidneys don't. My favorite is the pumpkin spiced ones that our local Speedway carries..I do spurge once in awhile.
