As for "I am a child trapped in an adult body(some even might say a child's mind)," that's why I love DW. I get to turn on my child brain a lot of the time. Nothing like that feeling you get when you see Cinderella's castle and remembering what it was like to be 5 yrs old and believing you are a princess. I cry every time I see it and I cry every time I say goodbye.

Thanks I will try to read and learn this. It has been kinda hectic here today.
I do private duty home care geriatric nursing and I have two of my patients sick one who is 94 with the stomach/lower intestine virus
and one who is 83 with upper respiratory infection that looks as if it might go into pneumonia and lord knows I have to be very careful not to catch it myself as my immunity is low every since my cancer.
Gotta run and check on them just came home long enough to change clothes I will be pulling an all nighter.

I glad you are enjoying reading my PTR.
As for the Green Mickey Heads they are paint sample cards that are shaped like Mickey that Home Depot has in their paint dept.(they are free) and the Dis'ers on here that are going to DW wear them on their purses,backpacks, shirts, hats and anything else to show that they are a Dis'er. If you see someone at WD that is wearing one you introduce yourself to them,this will be my first year to experience this so I personally hope to meet alot of Green Mickey wearers.
I also got alot of the other colors and have used alot of the ideas from posters about making a count down calendar which I am using. I also have used them to decorate my info book I'm taking with me that contains everything in it from info on parks to times of parades/fireworks and the menus from the restaurants I want to try.If you have kids they make for alot of fun and you can get all kinds of ideas from other posters.

Do you have a Home Depot near you?

i already have my GMHs too, i was surprised at how easy it was to get them actually. Never having been to Home Depot before, i was sort of expecting an airport-style security checkpoint where i'd wish i had hidden them in some hard-to-reach body cavity or something. In reality i stood in front of the display for a while, chose one of each colour and few extra red, black, and white ones, grabbed half the stack of alien greens, tucked the lot in my back pocket and walked out unmolested and unnoticed.

Thanks for the explanation of the purpose of Green Mickey Heads. I had been wondering about that for some time. Yes, we have three Home Depots within five miles of my house. We shop there often and my daughter always comes out with several of those Mickey Head paint sample card. Guess we'll be getting some green ones next time we go so we'll be ready for our Thanksgiving with the Mouse. Thanks again and have a wonderful trip.

The closest Home Depot to us is about 30 minutes away so when I first started getting them I had family and friends get them for me since they lived closer now I have MORE than enough,maybe I'll wallpaper a wall or a room with them.We we did go in to get some we too did the "are they looking at me" then we waddled out with our pockets full.
My little(elderly)patients are about the same but I'm exhausted so I'm going to cook something for dinner and try to get some sleep before I have to head back thank goodness they are both in the same Assistance facility.

Glad I was of some help. I just laminated a few Mickeys(green) and am planning on making a luggage tag to wear on my purse and my DH backpack.
Get some orange and black ones and make a calendar for your daughter.

I had brain tumor surgery ~ 2 1/2 years ago and just had another last month and Disney is one thing that makes me happy! I have an AP to Disneyland and take trips there as I'm able. Someday I'd love to go back to WDW (haven't been since the late 90s when I still lived on the east coast). Till then I just have to live WDW vicariously through other's TRs! Can't wait till you learn how to post pictures.

The picture thing is really easy once you get started. I upload mine to photobucket. If you don't have an account just go and create one. I uploade to "large" for the size. Just check my PTR and you can see what size most of the pics are. There are a few that are smaller. When you copy and paste - you want to copy the third option and just paste it into your posting.

I hope your patients are doing better - old age and upper respiratory or GI infections don't make for a good mix. Hope you stay well!!!!!

Let me explain. DH knows that I have been working overtime(so has he) and having several garage sales to save money for WDW. Well he had today off and decides we need to go one state over to a gambling boat and try to make some magical money This is how he approached the subject "Honey you know we could go to the boats and try and win some money for Mickey we won't have to take much" Well I know he loves Vegas and we didn't get to go this year so when he pulled out the Mickey card I thought "hey maybe -just maybe I can make some MAGIC money if I took some pixie dust with us.
Well apparently my machines didn't like pixie dust as much as they did my money.
Now my DH's machines were a little more magical as he wasn't loosing but he wasn't winning big either but maintaining means more chances.
After about 1 hour of trying I got desperate and pulled out my lucky charm (a BIG 12 inch stuffed Mickey Mouse)boy did we get some funny looks --now mind you when my DH saw me bring Mickey out of my purse and put it on the machine he decided that four machines away from me was the ones he wanted.
Here is how our Magical day ended:
Did we win any WDW money or did we loose our spending money
Me.....walked away with 2 free buffet lunches and only lost $25.00
DH....walked away $18.25 aheadAnd he got his Vegas fix.

I have to tell you all that Mickey sure is a conversation piece several people remarked how cute and after finally deciding it was safe to sit near the crazy lady, we talked about us going to Disney and was how I was trying to win some mad money or possibly enough to book a bounceback offer(, I told several people about the DIS forums and they were interested in checking it out after hearing me ramble on about how helpful everyone has been and about all the info on here.

I forgot to tell you that I made my DH wear one of his Disney shirts I had made for our trip I also wore one. When one couple saw the one my DH wore(the Ohio State Mickey one) they loved it and asked wear we got it I again was able to brag about the DIS.

52 MORE DAYS TILL DISNEY

Just trying to pass the time and take my mind off the fact that the 23rd of this month will be my 5 year date from my cancer surgery and it always get a little stressful a week or so before.
I have a check up every year at the Cleveland Clinic around this time but have yet made an appointment I quess I'm procrastinating because I'm afraid they might tell me I can't make the trip even though everything has been going okay for awhile.But that fear is always in the back of your mind.

Oh well I'll just eat my cake and call this Pity Party over.

I did go to Walmart grand opening today and bought some more supplies we needed for our trip.
I wish I could be packed and on that plane to Disney right now

Just a little FYI, I noticed back on the 1st page that you mentioned go to Ft. Wilderness Lodge for a meal at Whispering Canyons. Make sure you end up at Wilderness Lodge NOT Fort Wilderness. It's a bit confusing. Whispering Canyons is in the Wilderness Lodge. We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge in 05 and I was sure my MIL & FIL would get on a boat or bus and end up at Fort Wilderness. Luckily they didn't! I did, however, encounter a very confused group of people in the lobby who stopped me and asked me where Hoop De Doo Musical Revue was. I felt terrible for them explaining that they needed go out and get on a boat to the next resort over because HDDMR is at Fort Wilderness not the Wilderness Lodge.

The Wilderness Lodge is beautiful, especially at christmas. it will make for a nice day!

I NEED SOME PXIE DUST or just plain old SYMPATHY

While visiting a patient last night at a Care Facility I took a fall and went down on both knees. Here's what happened the Facility just got new Berber carpet about 3 weeks ago and everyone has been almost tripping on it, the carpet grabs the treads of your shoes and doesn't want to let go which means your shoes/feet are stopped but your body wants to keep traveling.
I have fallen on my left knee 2 other times before so I knew I'd done some damage as it started swelling to double the size in no time.
Don't know which hurt worst the knee or my pride(kinda embarrassing to fall down in front of 80-90 year olds after constantly reminding them to be careful and not fall).
My doctor is a family member so he gave me a cortisone shot right away and then we will x-ray it next week when the swelling goes down.
Thank god it will hopefully have time to heal before our trip.

My doctor at least added abit of humor to the situation after checking me out and shooting my knee he presented me with a Mickey Mouse sticker they give out to their good patients.Then proceeded to tell me that the only "trip" I needed to take was to Disney.

My DH and sons felt sorry for me and bought me the Disney dvd Nemo as I have not watched it and had mentioned I'd like to. Since I am suppose to stay off my feet for a couple of days I will lay on the couch and eat popcorn (imagining it is WDW"s)and watch my Disney movies. And of course read my DIS forums.

This also means I get out of doing the laundry cooking and cleaning.

Thanks for the hug and the sympathy both are appreciated.
I could get use to this laying on the couch with DH cooking dinner and me watching Disney movies I have watched 2 so far and saving Nemo for tomorrow when my Dh said he'd watch it with me.

I have had the chance to run off several more designs for some more t-shirts.
Love designing my own t-shirts and am planning on doing some for family members for Christmas.

Here's my daily post.
Was up most of the night since I couldn't get comfortable.I thought I was sore when I fell but as the days go on I get sorer,I am sore in areas that I didn't realise I'd hurt. It must be from twisting by upper body to keep from hitting my right hip which is where my implant for my bladder is located. Today I can hardly move.Not much I can take for the pain because of my cancer drug and my thyroid condition so I have to bare and grin it.
I am still on the couch hoping to be better by tomorrow as I can't afford to take time away from my patients I do private duty and they don't have anyone else take care of them during the week.

Oh well pity party over.

I have to admit this has given me time to get some of my Disney projects done such as I now have my dining tip envelopes and mousekeeping envelopes done. Also printed out some decorations to put in the windows and on the door of our resort(I also bought soome Disney clings at the Dollar store the other day).Made our luggage tags (HD green Mickey Heads).Made my November countdown calendar I already made an October one I am using now.

Went over my plan book and have read alot of the TR's.
I'm BORED to say the least I am not used to being homeward -couch bound.

Please someone take pity on me and post so I have something to do.
