The I am a pirate/fireman, I am not a hijacker thread, all about nothing in general

My task today is to take this to the panel beaters for a quote.

I feel your pain, some guy ran into the back of our pugeot [we were sitting at the lights] so we have a hire car at the moment...been over a week at the smash repairs:drive:

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Oh how annoying! That is what I find to be he annoying inconvenient thing! Being without the car! Like it's just a piece of metal, as long as nobody is hurt, but being without the car is a pain!

I hope you get your car back soon :drive:

What is it with people in cars at the moment? I'm seeing a LOT of craziness on the streets!

Karen - hope you get your car back soon.

Something is really annoying me.

I saw an ad on tv

Ashley and Martin, the hair replacement guys.
The "hair technician" or whatever they call themselves is definately not a hair guy unless he's had a career change since Neighbours.
Why put a well known actor on an ad passing himself off as a hair technician?
We all know you're lying! You didn't leave Neighbours to transplant hair!

Rant over

:lmao:

:joker:

its more the inconvience than anything else......and the DH is so busy at work he doesnt have time to chase these things up....so we are driving around in a clown car :drive::clown:

cant wait to get my pug back....all shiny and new.

yep i'm sure the drivers are getting worse, or just taking more risks than usual....thats why I love the train:crowded:

and being a european car, takes longer, costs more...so expect delays and high $$$$$$$ repair bill:scared1:

Congratulations! Did you score on the Qantas sale?

Thanks! :goodvibes Yeah we got $1000 each direct from Sydney. We were tossing going with Jetstar because it really is a lot cheaper, but DH has flown JS a few times for work, and every time he gets off the plane saying "I'm never flying with them again" but when it was going to be $3500 vs $1500 for the 2 of us we strongly considered it, but with the Qantas sale it made it more affordable :yay:

Really?? :rotfl2: I've never watched neighbours, so I never would have picked up on it, but that's hilarious! :upsidedow

I still need to ask for time off for my holiday :scared: I've never had holidays knocked back before, but I've also never bought the flights without having it approved :rotfl: This will be the one time that they really need me in the office in July :rolleyes1

So DD14 arrives home on Friday excited beyond belief - YR 9 school camp is on in September and guess what mum it's ok because we get back on the 13th and we don't fly out til the 14th!

My first thought was no way in the world is she going, she is so clumsy at the best of times she can fall overe her own feet. Oh, and did I mention it is an adventure camp? Abseiling, high wire walking, flying fox etc. DH and I talked privately about it and I thought I'd made my mind up that she should go because we will be away for 4 weeks and she would miss her friends and I can't deny her the chance to have fun and make great memories.

Anyway.... did the school drop off at both DD's schools and thought I would make the most of a day off work and get the groceries out of the way and have the day to myself (ha!) when just as I was putting the groceries in the boot the high school calls - we have phoned an ambulance for Abbie because she whacked her head on a table and pased out for a few seconds.:scared1:

Long story short, trip to hospital, CT scans showed no broken bones or spinal damage to neck, but a mega lump and bad headache. Turns out she went to sit down and a friend pulled the chair away. Bet she won't do that again!! I'm not angry, it was just a prank gone wrong.

Soooo, do I let her go to camp so close to our long awaited trip? I am so unsure what to do, she really wants to go, but if she injures herself I have told her she can stay home with Nanna!:rolleyes1

Thanks for listening to my raving, any advice greatly appreciated!

Liz - I sure am glad that DD is okay.

That's a tough question. But I'm a firm believer in letting kids experience the most out of life. Let her go to camp. If she does injure herself, it will be a life lesson and great bonding time with nana. :thumbsup2

Oh wow Liz, I'm glad your DD is ok! Have to love those school pranks that go wrong! My DS seems to be involved in those from time to time :rolleyes2

I think I would let her go on camp. She will probably sleep the whole way there as she will be so exhausted from the camp :rotfl: But if she injures her self then she can stay with Nanna, that will be an incentive for her to be careful. (fingers crossed).

My DS goes to Canberra next week for school trip.

I have just looked at the temps and it is FREEZING!!!!! On two days their uniform is just their long pants, shirt and tie! Seriously they will be FREEZING! They have said they might want to wear a singlet underneath if they get cold  A singlet?, what about a jacket, coat. Which they don't have. Most of them don't even have a school jumper (my DS doesn't, well he did years ago but never wore it, I think he will have grown out of it by now), they just wear their school shorts and short shirt all winter (have to love living in QLD).

Ms. Shuttergirl, I may need you to pop over and take him a hot chocolate to thaw out :rotfl2:

Thanks for the input, yeah, I think we will let her go. She must be feeling ok because she has her head bent over her laptop as I type this. I think we all got a bit of a fright today.

I understand what you mean aussietravellers, I think it's uncool for teenagers to actually admit to feeling the cold - DH won't wear her school jacket or use her umbrella because it "looks stupid" Personally, I think the bedraggled wet look is much more uncool:laughing:

She might be a typical 14 year old but I love her with all my heart. Hang on, I've just realised how much easier it will be to pack and tidy up the house before we leave on our trip if she is away for the week. Decision made!!!

I hate school uniforms so much. Our school was so strict that we had knee length skirts and long sleeve cotton shirts for winter. To keep warm we could wear stockings and a light woollen jumper  I was always freezing and sick, it was so exciting when I moved to a different school and they let us wear pants and warm coats and jackets so long as they were the right colour.

Some schools are stupid... ::yes::

I have boys like that - shorts all year round - in Penrith, and jumpers only on the coldest days cause they dont like to carry them in their bag when it warms up. They go off up the street at 7:30am, their skinny legs going blue, actually one is home sick today, I wonder why?

Anyway after 3-4 weeks of intermitant internet at home - it kept dropping out and coming back on randomly - several frustrating phone calls to (SE asia I presume) unplugging routers, plugging in phones to check the lines, being told at least 5 times that we had a problem with our line., Telstra coming and lookng at something in the street.

3 angry teenagers with no internet access :faint:

We bought a new router - and have internet again!!!!! :cool1::cool1::surfweb:

we had so many issues with telstra big pond and my ipad, that the DH rang and nagged them until they sent us a free little black box...works fantastically now..even apple tv works:dance3:

we also had the same issue with our first router -- issues, issues, issues, they said it was the lines etc.

got a new router, and the interwebs worked brilliantly. i've never been so frustrated (and watched so much bad tv) as when our interwebs were broken :confused3

silly iinet and their broken router.

I spent so many hours fiddling with my Ipad I nearly threw it out the nearest air lock:confused3
and all it took was a whiney DH to get it going again....popcorn:: now that was worth the price of admission :rotfl2:

just turned to carlo and said that i only want 2 minute noodles tonight as i am still distinctly unwell... and would he pretty please make them for me?

his response?

but honey... you make them so well, i couldn't hope to make them as good as you do...

gah! men!!!

off to make my own noodles.

Just got my quote for Friday's bingle.
