So DD14 arrives home on Friday excited beyond belief - YR 9 school camp is on in September and guess what mum it's ok because we get back on the 13th and we don't fly out til the 14th!
My first thought was no way in the world is she going, she is so clumsy at the best of times she can fall overe her own feet. Oh, and did I mention it is an adventure camp? Abseiling, high wire walking, flying fox etc. DH and I talked privately about it and I thought I'd made my mind up that she should go because we will be away for 4 weeks and she would miss her friends and I can't deny her the chance to have fun and make great memories.
Anyway.... did the school drop off at both DD's schools and thought I would make the most of a day off work and get the groceries out of the way and have the day to myself (ha!) when just as I was putting the groceries in the boot the high school calls - we have phoned an ambulance for Abbie because she whacked her head on a table and pased out for a few seconds.
Long story short, trip to hospital, CT scans showed no broken bones or spinal damage to neck, but a mega lump and bad headache. Turns out she went to sit down and a friend pulled the chair away. Bet she won't do that again!! I'm not angry, it was just a prank gone wrong.
Soooo, do I let her go to camp so close to our long awaited trip? I am so unsure what to do, she really wants to go, but if she injures herself I have told her she can stay home with Nanna!
Thanks for listening to my raving, any advice greatly appreciated!
