The Hyena Chat thread: Everyone's welcome!

Ohhh, I still can't believe I did this. Well, yes I can... Anyway.

I called my mom last week, asked how she was doing, the usual chit-chat. Then I said, "OK, so did you read the Obituaries in Sundays paper?"

She says, "Uhhhhh.... Yuh, I think so, why?"

"Well, 'cause I saw this one name and looked at where she worked and lived, and I'm thinking it's Kim's mom. Is Kim one of six kids?"

"Uhhhhh... Oh yeah, I did see that one. I was wondering the same thing. Yeah, I think it is Kim's mom. That's too bad, isn't it?"

Isn't it odd to be reading the Obituaries? I do this. Not every Sunday, but quite often... I don't know why. :confused3

My Grandma does that.. and then chats about the folks she knows that show up there.

I have been feeling really guilty. I had to take the kids out of their classes... :guilty: I SUCK. They have both been doing so well, but I just cant take them any more. I cant sit there on the freaking hot pool deck.. and then waddle my fat butt back t the showers.. and deal with all that. GAH. It just makes me so mad! So mad that my stinky old husband was right. :sad2: I CANT handle it.

I think part of reading the obits is the off chance you know someone who died. And the other.. it's interesting to see how they die, what age. Speculate who next will die in your famly, how you want your own obit to read.

As you age, take pity on your kids.. write up a brief obit for them to use.

I know it was hard for my mom to rack her brain (within hours of her mom's death) and make sure to list all of her sibs and their spouses. Count out how many grandchildren, great grands, nephews , nieces...
My mom was the oldest girl of 10 children, each of her sibs had children - some married several times and had children with each spouse. Her cousins were also of a very large family. ... etc etc...

It was an overwhelming task to deal with when numb in grief.

Not to mention that writing them in general just BLOWS. Especially when you are like me... I have the imagination of a toad. I cant word stuff right, and I tend to come off sounding like a moron. As you all are painfully aware, im sure. :lmao: If any one had to depend on me writing one, it would say... He was alive, and now hes dead. There ya go.

But it's a GOOD reason why! :goodvibes

I guess.. Try explaining that to a 3yo who just wants to go to gymnastics.. or swimming. Alex gets it. He isnt that happy about it, but he gets it. Oh well. My own fault. HAD to want just one more.. right? :lmao:

Don't feel bad. It IS terribly hot in the pool area, OMG! And your kids are probably better than DS4, but he just wears me out afterward, trying to get him showered and dressed. He plays with the curtain, splashes water around, doesn't get his hair wet enough, doesn't stand still for washing, pushes his brother out of the water, hoots and sings and squeals... GEESH!

It's just for a few months, until you pop and get a handle on managing the two little bundles. Then you can sign them up again, no worries. :thumbsup2

Exactly. Mikalah is great with being in the shower... She doesnt want to get out. The wrestling.. and then trying to dress her. OY. its to much.

Sorry, had to get a load of laundry drying, and then hit the loo. ;)

Hey, remind me when your ultrasound is? Is it in November? Or this week?

November 7th. :cool1: Next friday! :woohoo: :woohoo:

My mom just got home from her cruise today, and called me from JFK to ask if I had found out what the babies were yet. :lmao: Really.. just gets home from Greece, no Hi, how are ya... Just.. What are ya havin. :rotfl2:

I guess that's better than:

"Hi, Mom... How ya doin'?... Yeah, we're good... So, did you see Kim's mom in the Obituaries?" :rotfl2:

There's a couple other things going on on the 7th... and (naturally) I can't remember what they are... :rotfl:
