The Hyena Chat thread: Everyone's welcome!

But the store bought ones in the 70's were HORRID!
I remember having a sweaty face from the plastic mask. Trying hard not to fall, because I couldn't quite see thru the eye holes. Being really careful at school, it was much too long and other people would step on it-- RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRIP!

Good times.. good times..

:rotfl:
I remember wearing one of those plastic masks for something; how funny that I don't remember a store-bought costume! :confused3

But I definitely remember getting ticked off with the FAIRY costume; the 'dress' dragged on the ground and my brothers kept stepping on it, at first accidently and then on purpose!

:rotfl2:

Make the most of whatcha got, right? :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

Exactly.. You know.. I dont think I ever had a store bought costume. :confused3 My mom made a few.. My ever lasting witch costume. But I did always live on base.. Might not have had a big selection there. My dad had a great gorilla mask. When Alex was a baby, I put it on and snuck up him. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: OMG. That was funny. I am such a mean mom.

My Mom made me alot of cool costumes. My all time favorite was an exact replica of "I Dream of Jeannie," which was really popular then. Wish I still had it. :cloud9:

We used pillow cases to hold our candy. made for a good weapon when the older kids tried to take it from us :rotfl2: WHACK!

When it got too heavy for me to carry all of my candy, I poured mine into my big brother's bag. As the oldest, he had to take us trick or treating -- too old to go but he got candy anyway.

I'm curious what the weather will be like this year. We've had a few years where the kids got covered in snow :scared1:
We had snow flakes today, mixed with rain. Not cold enough to stay around.

My boys are too old now, they might go to a movie.. but I will likely hang with sis with her youngsters.

omg.. a while back he was having all these volcano issues. He was convinced the volcano was going to blow, and we were all going to die. No matter WHAT we told him, he didnt believe us. So finally.. Frelan told him that he would know when the volcano was going to go.. The ground would shake, and there would be smoke.

SOOOO... That night, Alex goes to bed. :lmao: :lmao: oh man.. Im laughing already.. Frelan snuck into his room and grabbed the bed and started shaking it.. VOLCANO!!! VOLCANO!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Its a good thing my kids have a super sense of humor. He WAS laughing.. After he figured it out. The next day... We woke up to... VOLCANO!!! VOLCANO!!! and him jumping up and down on the bed! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I'm just waiting for one of us to call it The Good Old Days... then we'll officially have become our parents. :scared1: :rotfl2:

Oy.. Sounds like my Grandma. My mom was telling her about the twins, and how funny it is, because they dont run in the family. I guess she went on, and on about how so and so had twins way back in the pioneer days.. Blah, blah, blah. My mom was like... Yeah. Uh-huh. I think 200 years is a pretty big gap there MOM.

Ohhh, I still can't believe I did this. Well, yes I can... Anyway.

I called my mom last week, asked how she was doing, the usual chit-chat. Then I said, "OK, so did you read the Obituaries in Sundays paper?"

She says, "Uhhhhh.... Yuh, I think so, why?"

"Well, 'cause I saw this one name and looked at where she worked and lived, and I'm thinking it's Kim's mom. Is Kim one of six kids?"

"Uhhhhh... Oh yeah, I did see that one. I was wondering the same thing. Yeah, I think it is Kim's mom. That's too bad, isn't it?"

Isn't it odd to be reading the Obituaries? I do this. Not every Sunday, but quite often... I don't know why. :confused3
