The Hyena Chat thread: Everyone's welcome!

I feel like someone beat me today. I seem to be going thru a new stage of healing. Boy they sure weren't kidding when they said this surgery would take about 2 years to completely heal. The last month or so I've had horrible itching, that finally quit now the past few days it's been really sore.

And my back and abdomen muscles are sore I feel like I ran a marathon or something this last week. Just took an Ibuprofen so hopefully that will kick in soon.

I really do hate to complain, but geesh some days I swear I feel like I'm about 80 years old!:lmao:

Awww Sam, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you feel better.

Oh my gosh, I LOVE apples! I love the Honeycrisps and the Granny Smiths and the Fujis!

Hey... We have Honeycrisps and Grannys... BRB!

Gala's are my favorite. I'll never forget one time right after we got married I sent DH down to the store to pick up a few things. He got these HUGE apples, I had no idea what they were and asked him. He said they are called Buttes. I'd never heard of them, anyway ate one, but it was kind of mealy. So I went ahead and made them into apple crisp...figured they must be cooking apples. Later that week I went to the grocery store, there were the apples. They were Rome Apples and a big sign saying "Try these apples, they are Beaut's". :lmao: I still kid DH when we are in the store...always telling him to go get us some Butte Apples.:lmao:

We dont have any.. But I do have about 6 grocery bags of pears.

Then go put that candy bar back and eat a bag of pears instead.:thumbsup2

To late. I ate the candy bar... and it was DELICIOUS!! :goodvibes

Tomorrow I have to dig into those pears.. Oy. The peeling.. and the coring... and the slicing. I need me a gadget. Pear butter... pear tarts... canned pears. What else am I going to do with these things?

 Im sorry you feel like poo. That blows.. Hopefully the IB kicks in.

Thanks Guys!:grouphug: I really do hate to complain. I know things could be worse and there are always others that have it worse than I do. I did choose to have this reconstruction and I knew that there would be some drawbacks when I made the decision. It's just hard sometimes because mentally I feel like I'm still 20, but my body just doesn't cooperate some days. 99% of the time I can just put a smile on my face and tell myself to have a positive mental attitude and that works and gets me thru it. But every once in a while I just have a few bad days (physically). I think I'm just getting some of the scar tissue starting to grow, plus I think some of the nerves are starting to regenerate. It's nothing really bad, just gets a bit tiring after a couple of weeks.

All this chocolate talk made me crave it...thank God I bought fudgsicles yesterday. :teeth:

You aren't complaining at all. :grouphug:

Pear on a Stick? Can you make them into pearsauce, kinda like applesauce and use it in the place of oil in cakes, baking?? I found a few recipes, but nothing that sounds real great. You can make pineapple and pear jam.

Hmmm...just found some recipes in one of my cookbooks. Let me know if any of these sound good and I'll type the recipe...

Pear & Apple Compote
Pear and Cranberry Pie
Pear and Frozen Cheese Salad
Pear Bacon Crips
Pear Cheese Holiday Mold
Pear Compote
Pear in Wine, Sliced, Paches
Pear Meringue Pie
Pear Pie
Pear, Sherried
Pear, topped special

oohh.. Pear sauce would be good. I hadnt thought of that. We would all eat it. Pear pie! Yum. Even hubby had mentioned that.

Heck yeah! What's the list of ingredients for a "Pear Bacon Crip"? I'm almost afraid to ask! :scared: :lmao:

Huh. I just googled "Pear bacon crisp" and it came up with all kinds of pear and bacon things, especially salads. This seems like a pretty popular combination, and I never would have thought to put the two flavors together! :confused3

Sounds good to me. I like pears.. LOVE bacon. Oy. STOP. If you make me go in the freezer and bust out my frozen bacon and cook it up at 10pm. :sad2: You know. Like I did last weekend. :lmao: My hubby had no idea you could cok the stuff in microwave.. If it is a TRUE emergency. We all know. Feeding a pregnant lady is a TRUE emergency. :lmao:
