The Hyena Chat thread: Everyone's welcome!

You could do it the old fashioned way Alex

DH just came to watch a little TV now that the kids are in bed. So what are we watching? "The Undertaker" and "Triple A". Wrestling.

I just don't get the appeal of wrestling. :confused3

I know! I know I'm being totally ridiculous. I had a reminder set up to make my appointment for the annual, fully knowing that she'd then schedule me for the colonoscopy. The reminder popped up, and I postponed it... every single day for like a year! Then one day this summer when I meant to click the postpone button I accidently hit dismiss or whatever the other option is. And it was gone. Ah well... So I kept giving myself reasons to put it off some more. Well after school starts, SURE don't want to drag the boys with me to THAT appointment... :lmao:

And it's not like if ANYONE ELSE came to me and said "They're telling me I need to have one", I wouldn't be the first one to say, "Yes! You absolutely should!" :lmao:

The prep was just really awful though. REALLY. Awful! My butt got chapped! And I use the super soft TP so my butt DOESN'T get chapped, and it STILL got chapped! That was a lot of action! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I won't go into the gross details, but do the colonoscopy. That is nothing compared to what chemo does to your innards.

"No matches were found for your request." Thank goodness!!! :lmao:

Oh, I am. It's not so much the procedure I'm worried about. It's going through that prep again. But I am. My annual is scheduled for December, after we get back from our DL trip. OH JOY, something to look forward to upon our return! :rotfl:

Hiya, G. :)

Maybe after the colonoscopy prep you shove the olive branch where the sun don't shine and it brings peace to your aching pooter?
:scared1: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

yeah I had the prep before the transplant donor surgery , eww nasty tasting stuff to drink ptoooey!

hmm, trying to remeber .. I think I had a milder version before they did the special Kidney xray too. They expected me to stop into lab for another urine sample before the x ray (of course no one told me this ahead of time) .

I was like ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh there's nothing left in me!!

I remember after my mom's first colonoscopy, she was in such horrible pain. She says they kept telling her to "pass gas", but she just couldn't do it with other people around... :rotfl2:

Can you imagine? You get blown up like a human balloon and a camera shoved through your bowels, then the gas needs to get out somehow... But you don't want people to know that you fart? :confused3 :rotfl:

Still... I am my mother's daughter. I'm sure I'll have to ask people to "please leave so I can fart my brains out!" :lmao:

Me neither, DS is always trying to tell me about the wrestling shows.

G! I think we need Pix to fix us up a blingier, fancier Kidney ribbon.:thumbsup2 We need to get a kitchy slogan also.

HELP SAVE SECOND BASE!

At least they give you conscious sedation meds for it now. It wasn't that long ago when they did not medicate, or not enough to really relax you . :scared1:

See that's what you need the kids around for. Just fart real loud and then look at the kids horrified like they did it. No one will know it's you.:lmao:

The kidney ribbon you have is actually for organ donation.. you know green for recycling after a person is done with it.

Love the Autism ribbon, it fits so well with the condition.

Just an update: Lil guy will be evaled in a month or two by an autism specialist. The school district is in the middle of getting results together from their testing. Thus far they slapped the label 'developmentally disabled" paving the way for more funding from the county.

Sis and I were discussing flu shots for her kids. They don't have ped versions of flu shots plus they use thermosol (mercury) as a preservative. She is really concerned will likely NOT do the flu shots.. why risk the chance was her reasoning.

When Dh's grandfather had a sigmoidoscopy (I don't know what the deal was, they're supposedly not painful), he said it was one of the most painful things he'd ever experienced. This is a man who was in the Battle of the Bulge (WWII, not the waistline!), so that frightened me a bit.

So when i talked to my doc about it (two years ago), she said I could do a colonoscopy or a sigmoidoscopy. I said, "I want to be PUT OUT!" She said that was fine, she'd rather look further (colonoscopy) if we were going to all that trouble anyway.

Whatever drugs there are to relax you or put you out, I WANT THAT.
