The Hyena Chat thread: Everyone's welcome!

I know! :lmao:

It's sort of on my mind these days. I was supposed to have a colonoscopy at my next annual exam... which I was supposed to have in the summer of 2007... :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

I saw a thread the other day where someone was going to have to have their first one, and she was freaked out. So I admitted I was freaked out too, and maybe we could be freaked out together. She scheduled her exam, I scheduled my annual, but the annual isn't until December, GEEZ!

I'm not freaked out as much about the exam (which I'm freaked out enough about as it is) as the prep for it. When I did the prep for my hysterectomy two years ago, I thought I was GOING TO DIE. Yep, death from pooping your brains out. It was painful, it was gross, it was just... I thought it wasn't ever going to end! And I never knew your butt could get dry heaves! :scared1:
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: That is so gross. So gross I cant stop laughing. :rotfl2: I thought the age for such things was 50 or so? Thats when my parents had their firsts.

Have I forgotten any ribbons, or have I covered the various diseases that have touched the Hyena lives? And no they don't have a straight jacket ribbon for wacko people like me!:lmao: I checked!:)

Ok this post just answered my question......:goodvibes

Of course I'm a little concerned about what the significance of the dove with the olive branch on the colon cancer ribbon means. Who is that bird and where has he been?:scared1:
Maybe after the colonoscopy prep you shove the olive branch where the sun don't shine and it brings peace to your aching pooter?

If you have a family history of it, you have to start at age 45. And both my mom's parents had colon cancer. My grandfather had a colostomy about 5 years before he died (of a heart attack), and my grandmother died about 12 years later from hers.

OOOHHHHH... I see.

Well you must have your colonoscopy. I mean it's one thing to have a pink ribbon in your signature, but let's face it having that brown ribbon in your siggie just wouldn't look that good.:lmao:

Shawna! Welcome, you'll never guess what Alex is talking about now!:lmao:

I think I've discovered why breast cancer brings in more donations. We have fancier ribbons. Throw a little bling on some of those other ribbons and they're sure to bring in more money.

I know! I know I'm being totally ridiculous. I had a reminder set up to make my appointment for the annual, fully knowing that she'd then schedule me for the colonoscopy. The reminder popped up, and I postponed it... every single day for like a year! Then one day this summer when I meant to click the postpone button I accidently hit dismiss or whatever the other option is. And it was gone. Ah well... So I kept giving myself reasons to put it off some more. Well after school starts, SURE don't want to drag the boys with me to THAT appointment... :lmao:

And it's not like if ANYONE ELSE came to me and said "They're telling me I need to have one", I wouldn't be the first one to say, "Yes! You absolutely should!" :lmao:

The prep was just really awful though. REALLY. Awful! My butt got chapped! And I use the super soft TP so my butt DOESN'T get chapped, and it STILL got chapped! That was a lot of action! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:
