The Hyena Chat thread: Everyone's welcome!

Here are my questions.

With a premium:

Do you get better discounts on room rates?
Nope, I think they are the same regardless of what pass you have.

Any extra things not advertised? Special privileges?
They offered me a free subscription to Family Fun magazine.. but I only got two issues out of the whole year.

How many places give you the souvie discount? Is it just the World of Disney?
Any of the stores in DL give you the discount, except for the carts and something else that I can't remember right now. Just ask! They usually say yes.

Do you know if Napa Rose gives discounts? My pass doesn't.:sad2:

hmm, let me check.... No bummer.

Do most counter services give the 15% discount?

Yep!

PIX!!! How are you? How was the party???

Please tell all!!

Was the ToT decorated like last year? Some have said it wasn't. Maybe it is done by now?

How were the crowds?

TOT isnt as much scarier than last year. it used to make this thundering noise that scares the crap out of guest. That doesnt happen anymore. Its busy like during the first hour. The line for candy at Hyperion theatre went from Hyperion's line queues, down hollywood, around the corner toward Sunshine plaza. Its massively insane for the first 2 hours if you want to get candy. like i posted before on how much candy was given out per 15min.

I must confess.. I have an addiction to reality/competition shows on Bravo.

watching Tabatha's Salon Takeover-- she can be a mean B :scared:
If I was a salon owner/hairdresser I would be freaked if she walked in to take over and "fix" the problems.

Scary lady! But very smart and excellent business sense.

My other faves..
Top Chef :yay: :yay: next season starts soon! Hubby and I make a date to watch it each week, predicting who will be the winners.

Rachle Zoe Project .. hubby hates it, but I like to see the assistant Brad squirm when he screws up.

Real Housewives of Atlanta.. holy cow! Hubby and I are just sick to see so much wealth wasted on some of those brainless spoiled women.
"My life is so hard.. I have to hire 7 people today....
Executive assistant, housekeeper, gardener, driver, personal chef, nanny, and governess."

 :faint:

What is the difference between a Nanny and a Governess?:confused3

Are you picking on the rich ladies B?:lmao: Trust me they have just as many neurotic problems as the rest of us. :rotfl2:

Governess - $50K per year. In charge of school age children and often teaches them.
Nanny - $30K per year.
Babysittter, $7/hour

BTW, my wealthy bosses have babysitters.:lmao: One child goes to public school and the other goes to a catholic school.

Hiya Albort. I just got done baking oatmeal, peanut butter and snickerdoodle cookies.

So now I need to fix something tasty for dinner. Haven't quite decided what I want to fix yet. Didn't make the soup because someone ate the leftover steak & chicken. DH must have made some sandwiches out of it this morning.

OK......next question. Do you have the Premium Pass to DL or just the Deluxe? I'm asking cuz I might upgrade to one. This is because I will be going to DL on quite a few times on blocked out days. So I'm trying to do the math, and see how worth it, it is. Right now, it will still cost me more for the Premium, but wondering how much I will save on food, and souvies.

Here are my questions.

Anything else you might think of.

Thanks!

I LOVED having the premium... No blackout days, so that was never a worry.. Discounts everywhere, 15% for food and 10% on stuff.. At just about all the stores. I think if you look on the AP website, it will tell you exactly which ones. Free parking... The hotel discount is the same as with the other passes.

The best for us was having no blackout days.. Just because we went for CHristmas.

Hello Hyenas,

MHT was okay but it wasn't as fun as it was last year. :( I got stuck in traffic and it took us 2 hrs to get to the park. It was also a lot more crowded this year. Since Toy Story Mania is new, the wait time (even until the park was closing) was 40 minutes and we decided to skip it. We did get on Screamin and other rides quickly and the candy lines were insane! :faint: We decided to get candy on the trail in front of Grrr and we also got candy from the animation building. I didn't see as many villains as last year. *will post more later*

Howdy Hyenas! Once again I'm here talking to myself.

And here I am again this morning talking to myself!:lmao:

Good Morning again...have you all left me and started another thread or what?:lmao:

I'm sitting here eating celery sticks and chicken nuggets for breakfast. I found a very tasty, easy to make chicken nugget recipe.

1 envelope of Lipton onion soup mix
1/2 cup of plain bread crumbs
1-1/2 lbs. boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into cubes
2 T. margarine or butter melted

Mix soup mix & bread crumbs together. Dip chicken cubes into mixture. Place on greased cookie sheet. Drizzle butter over top and bake at 425 for 10 minutes. Turn chicken nuggets over and cook for another 10 minutes.:thumbsup2

Although I'm not really sure why they need the butter. :confused3 I think it would eliminate more calories and fat by not using it The chicken was very juicy and tender and the kids loved it.

When a person cleans out their child's backpack there is really no telling what you will find. I believe I could write a book on strange things found in my kid's backpacks.

Of course my #1 shocker was finding condoms in DD's backpack in 7th grade. I was in a bit of a panic until I realized that a month prior I had signed a permision slip for a sex ed class that was going to include controversial things, including them receiving condoms and instruction on how to use them.

I believe I have now found the oddest thing yet. Decided to clean DS's room, cleaned out his backpack and there are two partial sleeves from a flannel shirt. Yes, about six inches of cuff and arm sleeves that appear to have been ripped off of a flannel shirt. So I sit there for several minutes thinking there has got to be an explanation for this oddity.

Finally it dawns on me! We had to send an old shirt oversize shirt to school for his art class. DH must have given him one of his old flannel shirts. Obviously the arms were too long and I imagine him and his friends had a great time ripping the the lower half of the sleeves off!

But still what odd items to find and why did he put them in his backpack and bring them back home??:lmao: Perhaps he thinks I will sew them back on at the end of the school year??

Good morning, hyenas!
Whoa, look fast! It's the SUN!

We had a very wet, windy day yesterday, and the power flickered a few times. Thank goodness it didn't go out altogether.

I'm feeling much better, just down to a cough and drippy nose now. And YES, Sam, I will use my NeilMed neti pot today, I promise! Last time I had a cold I did NOT get a sinus infection, and I'm sure it's because I used the neti pot. :thumbsup2

Of course, I also was dripping copious watery yuckies out my nose for the remainder of the day, a little disconcerting while attending a scrapbook workshop... So I'll be sure and stick close to home today. :)

Let's see... I guess the strangest things I've found aren't all that strange, mainly rocks and acorns. Some of the rocks have been quite large, bigger than their shoes!
I'll ask, "Where did this come from? Why was it in your backpack?" and the answer is always something that probably sounds totally obvious to a little boy, like "Because I put it there" or "I want to bring it to school." Hellooooo, Mama! :confused3 :lmao:

 Noah is my "treasure collector". I clean out his backpack, because I can tell it's getting heavy, on an occasional basis. Last year on one clean out occasion he had: rocks, sticks, broken pieces of jewelry that he found on the street, and small pieces of paper with drawings of odd creatures and point values on each (that were part of a self created game that he played with friends during lunch).

I try not to look too often, they have such little privacy in a two bedroom 750sq foot apartment. Instead I cringe, encourage, and evenutally nag to keep them organized and tidy. I can't tell what is clean, what is dirty in their room; so I shut the door and walk away .. while running a dialogue in my head to convince myself that they must learn responsibility by doing.. not by me doing it for them.

I'm lucky that our school uses letters, email, website and phone call system to communicate with parents. Otherwise I would have no clue of early release days, mid-quarter grades released... etc.

WooHoo! Real live Hyenas!!

Guess what I'm having for lunch? Chicken nuggets & celery.:rotfl2:

Today was supposed to be a nice day, a little cloudy, but no rain. Instead it has rained most of the day. I wanted to go watch the kids race today, but took one look outside and decided against hanging out in the mud all day.

What? What? I didn't hit post reply twice! I didn't hit post reply twice! What What the the heck heck is is going going on on here here??

Please tell me you are still here. My family has been gone all weekend, the Hyena thread has been quiet all weekend, I've been working on it but the dog's still can't figure out how to talk back to me, the cats well they just have their own agenda and wouldn't speak to me even if they could.
