The Hyena Chat thread: Everyone's welcome!

omg.. I am reading this message board about the boeing strike.. It is mostly union workers talking about the crap that the union got them in, and how they just might have screwed them out of their jobs.

gee it took them until NOW to realize it wasn't a good idea??

sigh.. unions are good but sometimes they can be a royal pain and not worth it.
I know that at schools some unions don't work well with administration.. it becomes US vs THEM metality between teachers and the management. Teachers refusing to do mid term reports or to volunteer for extra duty .. because the union told them not to do it.. new teacher comes in and on one side must please the prinicipal (boss).. but on the other hnad you don't want to make waves by not following union rules. (makes the other teachers look bad-- solidarity etc)

umm, isn't the point of school is to TEACH?!
I wouldn't want an administration to step all over teachers.. but I don't want teachers to be so locked into "the union says...." and tying their hands from doing what is best for the students.

Same goes for union shops-- do you do best in your work.. or just "good enough" to union standards?

grr, hubby decides to go to bed.. and turns off every light..leaving me in the dark (except for the light of the monitor) I hate when he does that!!

Fine go to bed.. I don't care!

shoo shoo

:headache:

okay, I'm off to beat him up now.

:lmao:

Goodnight!

I know.. That really is what it seems. Us VS them. The big sticking issue here seems to be outsourcing. Okay. but if I am reading this right... and I might not be. They arent even talking about outsourcing the machinists. Janitorial staff, and that sort of thing. Why would the Machinist Union care about that?

Also pay.. It shows that the average pay is $87,000 per year??? Are you freaking kidding me? For a machinist????? my husband is ALWAYS complaining when they hire ex Boeing... Because they arent trained to do anything but sit at the machine and push buttons. Not that what he does os all that difficult. He will be the first to tell ya. Its easy... But come on! Dont complain because there isnt someone there to wipe your butt anymore.

Sorry.. I dont mean to get my panties all in a bunch like this.. But they arent just messing with their lives.. they are messing with ours.

Night Bernice! i should head off too.. Not that I can sleep, im all heated now. :lmao:

This is the best one of the 2 of them together...

She is tall here but her face looks a little younger. Not much staley but a little. :lmao: BTW Morgan is 4' 9" tall. It wont be long before I can say she is 5 feet!!!

My kids are taller than me.. oh wait.. that's because I'm ummmmmmmm directionally challenged :rotfl:

Ok that CRACKED me up this morning! :lmao: :lmao:

How did I now that you would be on here super duper early??:lmao:

I think it depends on how I do her hair.. I really do. When I pull it back she looks older.. but with the piggies it makes her look more like a toddler. Thats why we like the piggies so much. ;) :lmao:

Good morning, hyenas!
Gray. That is all. :surfweb:

I had a lousy night's sleep, what with DS4 snuffling, snorting, kicking, and pushing his little feet on my behind all night. I yanked his feet away at some point (like around 4 AM), and he started whimpering, whining in his sleep.

I really hate whining, and did I mention I'm not the most patient person when I haven't had sleep? I was ready to scream, "Fine! Put your dang feet back on my butt, just SHUT UP!" But then he quieted down. :rolleyes1

And in case you were wondering... Yes, I did have my coffee this morning. Perhaps not enough, though... :rotfl:

DH just IM'd me. He made a doc appointment. I asked "For which problem?" and he replied that he's having trouble breathing today. Last night he was saying his chest felt tight, a holdover from the cold he had. I figured he has bronchitis and needs to see a doc, right?

So the appointment is for TOMORROW AFTERNOON. Oh, and his chest hurts, he thinks it might be pneumonia. So I YELL to him, "YOU CANNOT AFFORD PNEUMONIA WITH YOUR HEART PROBLEMS! Go today! See ANYONE TODAY!!!"

The dork replied, "I have a lot of meetings today and tomorrow, so I'm good with going in tomorrow."

Grrrrrrr!

OK, I have a few errands to run, so guess I'd better get moving. Maybe it will help me let loose a little pent up frustration, huh? :lmao:

See ya later.

I think she looks like you.

I log on.. and someone loggs off.
The worlds in perfect balance. :goodvibes

Hello.

I called in sick today. I'm still not feeling well....I keep coughing. Hopefully I'll feel better by tomorrow so I can return to work.

Once again a BIG THANK YOU to Bernice.

I had a $1 off coupon for certain Wendy's hamburgers. The Double Stack was on sale for 99 cents. So they gave me a hamburger and since the lady couldn't figure out what to do with the sales tax on minus 1 cents, they gave me a penny back.:thumbsup2 :rotfl:

Then I went over to Walgreens where they had Pert Plus on sale for $2.50, with an in-store coupon for $1.50 off, I had a mfg. coupon for $1.00 off. I also found a can of Degree Clinical protection anti-perspirant on the clearance rack for $1.49 and I had a $2.00 of coupon. So I made 51 cents on that deal.

However, I am learning that some stores or clerks will sort of freak out if they owe you money, so it's best to buy something else cheap so you end up owing a few cents.

Anyway, I bought Scrubbing Bubbles bathroom cleaner, Pert Plus, 2 Lindt candy bars, feminine supplies, anti-perspirant, and toothbrushes and got them all for free!:lmao: I had a couple of items that I actually needed to get, so the free items ended up paying for about 50 cents of my other items.:thumbsup2

Alright coupon queens I have 6 disposable cameras to develop. I was going to take them to Costco to get them done. I thought I should check with the deal experts here. Anyone know any good deals now? I havent checked the budget board. Might do that this evening after I get back from dance.

Hello. :)

Kids are home from school. DS4 is quietly playing upstairs... that should be worrisome to me, now that I think about it.

DS8 just finished his reading homework, and is now working on a crossword puzzle involving his spelling words of the week. :goodvibes

So a few moments of peace and quiet, how lovely.

Ahh, I'm going crazy! The lasy that I work with has been out the last 2 days and I've been having to do her work on top of mine. I doubt she's going to come in tomorrow. I can't wait for the weekend!

hello gals. My hips and back hurt like a mo fo today. I must have slept wonky.. or I had a growth spurt over night. :lmao: I was really crampy when I tried to get out of bed this morning.

So i asked my husband to make sure he did the dishes, and cleaned the kitchen... Because bending over is kinda... Impossible right now! my hips are KILLING me!! Did he?? NO. So he is getting canned ravioli for dinner. :snooty: I did the dishes and cleaned the kitchen.. just in case anyone was wondering. :lmao:
