The Hyena Chat thread: Everyone's welcome!

on second thought.. leaving again, fianlly can watch a comedian we like without bleep bleep bleep bleeep because it was prime time last time we tried to watch it

Goodnight!:cloud9:

:lmao:

I've created a monster. :rotfl2:

You never know what kids are going to end up being called. Everyone calls my DS Coop!:lmao: And instead of Chelsie, we started calling DD Chels a Roo, then it was shortened to Roo, then Rudy! Of course sometimes I lengthen it and call her Rutabaga. Go figure!:lmao:
Yeah, my dad told my Norwegian grandfather when I was born that my name was "Tina" (G, he did this after every child was born; oldest brother was "Gus", other brother was "Oly"... after the folks in the Norwegian jokes?)

Anyway, so my family has always called me Tina, never by my actual name. It got shortened to "Teens" by my favorite uncle, to "T-Bone" by my dad, and eventually to "Bones". :confused3 :rotfl:

That's cute!

See, you should have become a forensic anthropologist it would have fit! :rotfl2:

I've gotten rain checks before, but only for items I really wanted. It seems they make it a real hassle to get one, you have to have the item number and price information, etc., and the cashier had to write up a rain check for me (very slow in the checkout process); then they mailed me a computer-printed rain check once the item was back in stock, and I could bring that in with me to buy the item at the sale price.

Yeah, but if you do the substitution thing then you don't have to wait for it to be in stock. Just look for the thing that is out of stock and substitute something else nearby and get the % off.

I got stuck with Bunny, my sibs couldn't pronounce my name.. they would say "IT is crying again" gee, was I that bad??

My aunt said I looked like a little rabbit, Bunny stuck there for years and years...

My sis teases me and calls me Bun-Bun on occasion.

DH's nickname is Boo! His little brother couldn't say Bruce.:lmao: I like Bun-Bun. Can I start calling you B.B.?

I soooo wanted to take forensic anthropology classes in college! :lmao:
I just didn't have time with the comp sci program.

So I guess what we're saying is tonight Bones, Sam & Bun-Bun are chatting.:rotfl:

My grandma used to have other nicknames for me also. Although Sam was my main nickname, she called me Alley Cat or Alley Oop...look at that caveman go.

Hi, Christina! :cheer2:

CHRISTINA! :yay: How are u? How was your trip to DL?

Hi Alex :) I am using my phone to DIS.

Hello!

Christina, I was just thinking about you last night. Hoping you were OK and all. How are you?

Pix, I had to laugh when you knew what kind of car got crushed. DH was impressed. But he did want to know if you knew or your DBF? :rotfl:

Bernice, I hope everything will turn out OK for your DN. Did I read his brother is autistic? That is a lot to handle for your Sis. Bummer. :sad2:

Gina, my DD is turning 15 next month. I do not look forward to her driving yet either. I've gone through 3 already, and I feared it then...................I fear it now. Time and age do not mellow out on this issue!!!

Well I need to go.

HI LADIES!

My trip to DL was so awesome, I got dreamed, I got to ride in the wheel house on the mark twain, I got to see the parade and fireworks I have never seen before because I always go at christmas time, and I got to do it all with my family! YAY! It was so fun, I'm still contemplating doing a TR. I don't know yet, but I had so much fun. I only wish it was longer than 3 days because I would have liked to meet up with some of you, and I only got to ride splash mountain once. Boo.

Howdy Hyenas and Albort!

I have been getting ready for our trip next week. I'll give you a mini PTR.

Leave early early Tuesday morning for Vegas. Stay at the Venetian for 3 nights. Expense paid!! Woo hoo!

Shop til I drop at the Malls. Even going to start my Christmas shopping.

Hoping for some sunshine, so I can lay by the pool and have an umbrella drink with book in hand.

Watch the Bellagio Fountains as much as possible. They are my favorite thing to see while there. I could watch them all day!

See Bette Middler Wednesday night. Not my first choice, but once again expense paid.

Eat good food!!

Friday morning, nice and early......leave for DL.

That night attend MToTP with my whole family. 11 of us!! I'm so happy that they all can make it.

Saturday hit the parks nice and early if possible. That evening meet up with parts of my family who will not be going to DL. (They will be setting up for the Pomona Car Swap Meet.) So since they won't have park tickets, we are eating at Storytellers. I have never been there, so I'm excited to try it.

Sunday, maybe Kaitlyn and Dave and I will go into the parks. We have passes that aren't blocked out that day................so it would be fun to go again for a little bit.

Come home. Wahhhhhhhhhhhhh!:sad1:

I forgot to write that I hope all is well with everyone.

Christina, it would be great to hear about your trip!

I made Disneyland's pumpkin muffins. Yum yum. I just ate 2. :sad2:

If you guys try it, increase the flour to 1 1/2 cups. They were still super moist. (I increased the amount cuz the original almost sounded like a mistake.) Whatever..........it worked great. I also cut the filling in half. It made plenty to fill the muffins with. i still have some left over.

Well I'm off to finish Kaitlyn's costume. Need to have it done by tommorrow night, so she can wear it to the party on Friday night.

Good Evening Hyenas,

My bf and I slept in and we went to the motorcycle shop. He called to check if a jacket he had ordered last week had arrived. The salesman said they got it and we went to pick it up only to be told that he had mistaken the jacket for a different style. They apologized for the mistake and said they should receive it within the next day or two. The same went for my bf's motorcycle. He had it painted and was told it would only take 3 days but 3 days has turned into 7 days. :sad2: :sad2: He's really annoyed with this paint shop because they keep making excuses as to why it's taking so long. :headache:

We had a nice lunch at Red Lobster and then went to an asian market and got a few groceries. Then we came back home and watched some of Planet Earth on the discovery channel. My bf fell asleep and is taking a nap. I went to the mall and went to exchange stuff at Bath & Body Works. I got their new lotion called Sleep and it smells really good. :) Here's a link to it:http://www.bathandbodyworks.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3193215&cp=2484528 I also got a 3 piece set of lotion that was originally $10 and was on sale for $5. Here's the link: http://www.bathandbodyworks.com/pro...el&origkw=vanilla+noel&pg=2&parentPage=search

mmmmmmmmm, very tempting. I have a GC for BBW burniing a hole in my purse  Just waiting on a good sale.. but the Sleep line sounds divine. I am not one for scented lotion, but I love body wash and pillow mist.

Interesting they had that holiday set on sale, I guess it was part of the Columbus Day Sgnature scent lotion sale. Lucky you ! Would be a nice item to stock up on for small gifts to have on hand.. co-workers, unexpected guest.. for Christmas. :goodvibes

Wow, slow day on the hyena thread!

We went to a local pumpkin patch this morning for pumpkins and a photo op. :rotfl:

We bumped into a boy that was DS8's best friend since they were infants in daycare together. They've lost touch since starting public school, so it was nice for them to catch up a bit. :goodvibes

Interestingly, there was another child there from the same daycare (a girl who was in their class), and her brother was in DS4's preschool class last year, so they ALL got to catch up. What a small world! :thumbsup2

DS4 seems to be going through a phase. He was a complete troll on the way back to the vehicle, insisting on taking the wheelbarrow back with Daddy instead of getting buckled in his seat as requested, and then throwing a major hissy fit once I did carry him back to the truck. He finally got calmed down as we neared home, but then DH detoured to a gas station, and DS slipped out of his carseat and refused to get back in, which led to yet another meltdown. :headache:

Just so you know, I did allow him to live. I insisted he take a nap, and he seemed to sleep well once he got down, and was MUCH better once he woke.
