The humidity almost ruined my camera.

Well, you could get a canon 1 series, they are weather sealed.

Barring that, I have heard that if you put your camera in a ziplock while inside, and then let it aclimate to the tempeture outside before you remove it it will help in decreasing the formation of moisture. But that's all I have.

Last year, I had a few cheap generic battereis for my Pentax Optio WP that would not work in Florida's humidity. They worked fine in Chicago.

This year, I learned my lesson. I bought DIFFERENT cheap geeric battereis. LOL

The really weird thing about it; The WP is weatherproof. (Heck, it's waterproof)

I don't know if a 1 series is guaranteed not to have humidity problems. The outer part of the lens certainly fogs up. The inards don't, but then I never had a problem with my D60 or 10D inards either.

Like it has already been said, just let it adjust to the temperature before using it. If it is in a bag it will adjust slower, which is good.
