The Hot New Toy For Christmas is...

I just wanted to let everyone know my experience for those who are thinking of buying one of these for the holidays. I decided to get my ds one of these for Christmas this year. I know that WalMart had the Tink one in stock, but no chrome, so I thought that I'd order from disneyshopping.com. Let me tell you that I was doing all of this at the end of Oct. Looking at Disney's site, the chrome mix stick was b/o until Dec. I then went to Bestbuy.com and saw that their's was b/o'd too but said it would ship in 2 weeks, so I placed an order on Bestbuy.com on 10/31. As the days have past I started to get concerned that BB might start pushing back my b/o date, so I panicked and placed another order for the chrome mix stick on disneyshopping.com on 11/7. On my order, the expected ship date was in 6wks. Well I just checked status on the best buy order (since I saw the charge on my card) and low and behold it appears that Best Buy shipped my order on 11/10. I am hesitantly excited and am not going to cancel the Disney order until I receive my shipment and know that everything is "ok" because we plan to load ds's favorite music (he's 4 and likes to listen to the same stuff over and over - especially the fireworks music as he calls it, we all know it better as Illuminations). So, if you are interested in the chrome Mix Stick, BB might have it and in my case did adhere to the backorder time frame that I was quoted!

I saw an entire endcap of these at Target the other day.

I wouldn't cancel either until you have the one that was shipped. I also ordered a Tink one and a chrome one from Disney Direct - I too got the backorder notice from Disney Direct so I went ahead and ordered the Tink one from Walmart.com and the Chrome one from Best Buy - BB sent a back order notice also - then i ended up getting an email from Disney Direct that the Chrome had shipped :flower: I recieved both the Chrome from Disney and the Tink from Walmart last week. I called Disney and cancelled the Tink one from them. Also Walmart.com did have all three players on their site beginning last week and they are already all sold out. I checked Target regularly and our store hasn't gottem them in yet. So if anyone wants the mixstick make sure you pick one up if you see it anywhere - they are selling out fast!

Heads up for Build A Bear Fans - the holiday limited edition came out yesterday. It is Frosty the Snowman and he is very cute! Rudolph sold out very fast last year so make sure you get Frosty early if you want one.

I called my Target and the guy had to go pull one out of the stockroom. He said they haven't had a chance to put them out yet. They also had the princess and tink mp3's. If anyone is still looking and afraid to try to order online, I'd give Target a call.

My DS's (6 and 9) both are asking for the Lightastix (made by RoseArt). They are similar to the Magnetix. Anybody know if they are worth the $$? I have read some poor review about the Magnetix in general. Thanks!

Well, I don't know if they are worth the $$$$$, but we have the Magnetix brand building set and my boys like them. Maybe it's because they don't care about building big structures.....my boys like to build small flying machines (in the Star Wars vein)

Just FYI

I just bought Dream Life last night at Target with the coupon, so it was $35. DD already has it, but I wanted it for her friend for her birthday. I've been told it's popular, and could be hard to find after Thanksgiving.

I also bought Mall Madness for dd (11) It's on sale at Target through today. It was $25!! I am hoping to see it cheaper somewhere else.

DS (8) wants the MegaBlocks, called Command Ops. They are hard to find....Ic an't find a store that carries them, only on line. I am hoping for free shipping around Thanksgiving or Xmas.

If only the Target BF ad would come out!!

You may want to check out Walmart for Dream Life - I just picked one up there for $29.99 this week.

Tumble Time Tigger

Me too.
This was the only cupon I clipped from the Target toy cupon book.
My bouncing Tigger needs a friend.
I like the Dora Doll houses (the whole series), but I don't have any kids living with me, and I have enough doll house stuff for myself.
I remember once reading an article, which stated that the Dora show almost got passed up for an inferior show that was thought to have more merchandise marketing options. I think that the Dora product marketing is doing a great job.

I keep checking Target, I live in South Jersey and the Target near me, does show any sign of these. I keep looking because of the accessories.

does anyone know how to preview the walmart or target or toys rus ads ahead of time for the day after thanksgiving sales...????thanks so much...
I need another amazing amanda doll......

This is the hot item in our house - please excuse if its been mentioned before. It's a mini-ballerina bar, with a floor pad that has footprints on it to show how to place your feet - sort of like an Arthur Murray dance guide for kindergarteners. It comes with a CD of a little ballerina to guide DD5 thru her paces. Got it for $18 on sale at Target last week. I'm also looking for "That's So Raven" cologne. If I'm feeling really masochistic, perhaps a Karaoke toy. I also got her "Disney Princess on Ice" tickets and a personalized Disney princess book where she's a participant in the stories. DD walked by Libby Lu's in our mall the other day and was drawn inside like Homer is drawn to a donut - same blank eyes, same dribbling at the corner of her lip - and came out with a list of a million things for Santa. How did I - a sensible shoe wearing Mom - wind up with the girliest 5 year-old diva on the planet for a daughter? :confused3

My kids, both boys, are 2 and 6. My favorite part of Christmas shopping is buying thier toys and the anticipation of waiting till Chirstmas morning to see their excitement. :) My youngest is getting mostly Thomas the Tank Engine both the wooden and the Tomy. His favorite is "perce" (Percy) as he calls him. I may order him some basic wooden building blocks as he likes building things and knocking them down.

My oldest wants MegaBlocks Dragons, Star Wars Galactic Heroes, Star Wars collectors cards, the build your on lightsaber set from SW, and some video games. He wants the new Animal Crossing game coming out for Nintendo Ds. He loves his DS-we have the Nintendogs and he and I both like playing it. :paw:

Other favorite Christmas gifts of years past include: the V-Smile, Leapster, Nintendo gamecube, (he loves the Star Wars Lego game for GC ) Imaginext sets, Thomas the Tank engine, Putt Putt Travels Through Time for PC and Cranium games.

I would get him some more leapster games as he LOVES his but he hasn't seen any yet that interest him. We have the Kindergarten and 1st grade themed ones, the write/draw one, a Dora one, and Spongebob that does math activities. Anyone know of some good ones for a 6 y/o?
