The posters statement shows the incredible differance in attitude and morals all over America. There is in fact a very differant moral climate in America and some say it is due to economics as another poster said. The fact is ethics and morals should not subjective and made to fit any given situation you do what is right becouse it is right it is that simple. Chacter is what you do when others are not watching.

I agree with you in every way. Especially since what 'Bstnsprts' in selling is the idea, "two wrongs make a right", which I learned was wrong at about 3 years of age. IF he belived Disney was wrong to "cheat" people out of their land (which he didnt) - then why would he propose the same? People are funny.

I agree. I know someone who is taking their 10.5 year old as a 9 year old to save $$ on the passes. What is that!

Aside from 'beating the system' out of less than $42? IMO, if that small (relative to the cost of the trip) amount of money matters, maybe a vacation isn't the smartest use of available funds...

I can afford my vacation, thank you very much. I do like to get my money's worth. Again, there really is no rule.

I like to get my money's worth, too. To that end, I've got a pretty good idea already of what I'm going to eat at each TS restaurant. But it's not reasonable for me to expect or try to get more than MY money's worth.

So my question both sides here is this... do your cards seperately state the number of adult and child credits, like 2A / 2C. If that is the case, and say two adults and one child are dining at the same time (the other is sleeping, or something) then is it wrong for them to order 1 adult and 1 child credit meals?

Nope. It's wrong (actually, against Disney's RULE) for them to order three adult TS meals at that sitting.

I understand that Disney has a one liner about this in their brochure, but unless they actively enforce it, it's just like the speed limit... 98% vehicles travelling on the interstate system at any time are breaking the speed limit. Do they all deserve a ticket? No, because even cops with radar don't bother with those doing 72 on a 65 mile/hour limit.

I am not proposing, in any way, to cheat. I am new here. I was told by a Disney Rep that I could use the credits as I wish.

But did you, or they, clarify "as you wish"? To the CM it likely means 'at any time in any order on any day or days', while to the potential Guest it could be interpreted as 'whichever credits you want for whatever age person you choose'.

I believe that the term "beating a dead horse' was originated on the DIS boards. (darn smilies won't work, trust me I am smiling)

According to Answers.com, it's a naval term (meaning "to work off advance pay on board ship--the period before you start earning money again.") and since the Navy probably predates the DIS...

I am surprised that no one has noticed another hidden cost of the free dining plan, the highly inflated costs of the food at DW.

I honestly think price increases, even since the onset of the dining plan, have just been normally-expected rises. Goods cost more, results sell for more.

Well, though the OP makes some very good theoretical points, the bottom line is that these things are Disney's problems, not mine. It's not up to me to solve Disney's problems or to worry about what someone else does. So I'll just continue to enjoy my WDW vacations and pay attention only to what my crew does. Everyone else is on their own and I promise to withold the scornful looks if I happen to see someone doing something I don't approve of!

Lewisc, howdy there! I used to be quite perplexed at the arguments over whether things were expensive at DW or not and have come to the conclusion it depends on where you live and how you live in your regular life. Since we live in the midwest and think that the special at Golden Corral for $5.29 including beverage is just about right the food at DW IS expensive, for us. Now, if we lived in NYC it might seem downright cheap to us. Just my opinion. for what that is worth.

kaytieeldr, I actually do know where the term "to beat a dead horse" comes from as I love words. I was just being facetious.

I wish everyone could see my grin when I am typing. I am just a fast typist with lots of opinions and love a good fight occasionally but one with respect and laughter. This is a good place.

There's your problem. Right there.

You are neither a cop NOR do you work at Disney and are incharge of making decisions such as guest meal sharing. All you can do is pass judgement, like telling people that if they are worried about saving $40, then they shouldn't even take a vacation!

If the police, the ones responsible for enforcing the speed limit & giving out speeding tickets don't give them, then how can say with certainty that those people "deserve" a ticket... just like you can't say if "sharing is not allowed" at Disney restaurants, unless the servers and restaurant managers say so.

So it's really you who's "beating the dead horse", and things are getting pretty bloody now.

I agree food in Disney is expensive BUT not really any more expensive than food in any place that has a captive audience. Look at the prices in a ball park, movie theater or even something like the circus. The meal plan really does make food a lot more affordable.

Dolphin stadium (which is a dump, FWIW) - awful burger, LOTS of inedible fries, and the smallest drink = $14.50. I rest Pedler's case.

Doubtful Disney is losing any money here! After all,we pay for the overpriced hotels,food and park passes (DH and I go 2 weeks every year) We choose to spend a small fortune because we love Disney. Who cares if family's are sharing meals,credits, 5 people in a 4 person room, reusing refillable mugs, etc. ( I know theres lots more) Oh I think this was one last year, taking jelly from the food court...For a store bought bagel not purchased on Disney property. They may not have the means to spend thousands on their trip. If it means illegally using a "credit"to bring a memory/souvi/photo home for your child to remember their trip then enjoy. People do this so they can spend money elsewhere in Disney. Power to all! reuse your refillable mugs, I think I might just bring mine back this year!!

Linda, I haven't read this entire thread, but couldn't agree with you more! I get so sick and tired of people that complain about the DDP on here..........if they don't like the rules they don't have to get it. It seems like a great deal to me, and honestly I don't see why it's so difficult to use it as it was intended. I don't think that WDW is necessarily making money off of it, but it encourages people to stay on site which makes them more money in general.

Sorry I know you want this thread locked, but I just wanted to jump in quickly and say I agree with you! Kids see so much more than we realize.

No, there is no way for WDW to separate Kid and Adult credits now, but they have stated their policy. The same way they don't ask for birth certificates at the gate for Adult vs Child admission verification, I suspect they won't press the issue here either, but as a WDW information board with over 100,000 members, shouldn't we support the rules as laid out by WDW and provide information accordingly?
