The horse girl, her big guy and WDW..a trip report! Update 8/4-Day 10, pg 26!

i love the UG! I have the one from 2005 (for our honeymoon trip_ and last years. I KNOW I will buy the new one that comes out for 2008 since we have an anniv trip planned. Now I'm gonna HAVE to check out The Pasporter 'cause I have heard such good things about it! Note to self: make stop at book store this week!

I had a hard time trying to find mine. I took Punkin's advice and checked on availabilty through Borders.com and then picked it up at my local store! It's awesome!! :thumbsup2
oh, but yes, he is.....extra lovable, extra sweet, extra huggable, extra special, extra handsome.......i'm sure you could go on and on! ;)
Now that's a great way to put it!! :goodvibes

Only 40 more days!!!

Another great installment, Tara! I hope that the family you work for gets to see the World as well - think you'd meet up with them at all? Probably not - it's a vacation, not work!

I have the unofficial guide for 2005 and 2007. Other than new restaurants or attractions that weren't around in 2005, it's pretty much the same. But did that stop me from buying it? Nope. :rolleyes1

but I'm still confused as to why one is called "horse girl" and the other "big guy" -- as I missed (if present) any horse references in the thread - and from the photos, or descriptions I saw, the dude would be considered "extra" sized.
:rotfl2:

Not sure where it is exactly, but the OP owns a couple horses and is an avid horse rider (is that what you call it, horse rider? :confused3 )

I love the Passporter - we got the refillable deluxe and it is almost an obsession with me - I have read and re-read it so many times!

I just got the Passporter too! I paid top dollar at the Bookstore in Downtown Disney(land)....but it's totally worth it! I haven't checked out the newest version of the UG, but now I'm curious.

I also purchased "101 Things You Didn't Know About Disneyland" which is just interesting factoids I may or may not ever need. But curiosity got the best of me with that one.

I do bring my babies to Disney, only because they offer me a chance to SIT and rest when I need to. Or if I just need to get away, there's the Baby Care Center to take and air-conditioned diapering break. My DD2 is almost past the baby days and I'll miss em! On their 3rd birthday they are not free anymore so I take advantage of their freeness as many times as possible.

But plenty of people don't bring their kids till they are older. I don't judge. (Very Often, LOL!)

You're rockin' so far!!!!!!

Nice job Wonders...I guess I am a horse rider but to all my horse buddies we just "ride." I guess to a stranger that could also mean I ride my ATV or my Harley. :lmao:
I don't know if I would meet up with the family from work. I am super close to the 6yo. and have given him all his WDW knowledge..it would be nice to ride SM with him. I am bummed that HM will be closed if they end up going. His parents are great people but play things by ear. So they could easily wake up one AM and decide to not hit WDW that day so I won't keep my fingers crossed that we will run into them!

I thought about getting the big binder one but resisted!! ;) I read a little from one of the guidebooks every night. I haven't even had the attention span to read a "regular" book in over a year. Suspciously...the last book I read was before I first bought UG last April. I guess I am a Disney Guidebook Reader forever now!! :rotfl:

Thanks for stopping in so soon after your DL trip!! Not sure if I mentioned that DH and I want to head to DL in possibly Jan of 10. I thought the points for DVC out there would be high but since you don't need as many days there as you do for WDW it's totally doable!! I will have to re-read your TR when the time comes!! ;) How many days would you rec. for DL? Two for travel and 4 for the parks?
Glad you are like me and want your babies at WDW with you! I would feel horrible if I didn't take mine and I certainly won't be able to wait until they are older to go to WDW!! I would go through serious withdrawl!!
How is that 101 book? I have seen ones like that on Ebay..definetly something that I would like!!! :thumbsup2

I made a SUPER EXCITING, DON'T WANT TO MISS THE PICS, purchase for WDW yesterday. I will upload the pic tonight!! :wizard:

So for my last trip I bought the Unofficial Guide, Fodors and Birnbaums. I am addicted to the UG...I think I have read it cover to cover (for the most part!) about 3 times. :thumbsup2
I have to agree about the guide books! Very addictive....like the DIS. I sit here at the computer every day with my caloused wrist looking for another tid bit that I didn't know.

Do you have a TGM subscription? Now that's a whole 'nother "guide book" all together!

Hi, fellow Peep!:goodvibes
I am finally making it to your pretrippie! :yay: I am really enjoying it!
Thanks so much for the DVC info! I am hoping within the next 3 years being able to join....we shall see.
I look forward to more!popcorn::

I clicked on your link from the PEEP thread and have really enjoyed your report.:thumbsup2 The info on DVC was VERY interesting because I knew nothing about it.I am also in the takeyourbaby club. I have taken my youngest at 13 months,18 months and 2 years old.She loved it and calls Disney her 'happy place".:goodvibes I have been lucky enough to travel with enough family that taking turns waiting with the baby hasn't been a problem. Also having four kids and working in childcare for the last 12 years being at WDW with a cranky baby is alot better than being home with a cranky baby.;) Looking forward to the next installment.

Glad to hear you guys like DB! I figure if your clan is happy with it then it must be ok!! You are the professional diner you know! ;) The update with SIL is coming soon....I got home too late tonight to write it. It was beautiful here today so I had to take an extra long trail ride with my horse!! :wizard:

Yep, it's a tough job, but someone's gotta do it. :teeth: Why do you think I need my Peeps? Too much Disney food... :sad2: (But I can't wait to go back! LOL! :goodvibes ) You made the right decision about CRT - there will be plenty of time to dine with those princesses in the future! It's a shame the castle is all character dining now. We used to go there for a nice dinner every so often before the change. Oh well. So, how many WDW vacations do you think you'll get in before 2013?! :lmao: Your SIL is somethin' else. For the record, my son was 3 months old the first time he went to WDW. Didn't have a problem at all. To each their own, I guess. And don't get me started with the eye rolling about what DVC costs. We get that all the time. Silly people. I just have to feel sorry for them. I'm sorry you didn't get a very good reaction about your DVC purchase, but you gotta expect it. Just be happy and know that you will have the opportunity to make many life-long WDW memories as a DVC member! I'm happy to call you my neighbor!

Can't wait to read more! popcorn::

Dance has TGM and she has been using it for the Peep Meet! I don't even want to get addicted to that. I am not asking her questions about it or checking out the website!! :rotfl:

Oh the suspense is killing me! :hyper:
Oh it will be worth the wait!! MWHAHAHA!!

I am glad I can pass on my just acquired DVC knowledge to someone else!!! I am also glad you came over to join me on this lovely journey!! It's always nice to see another Peep. The information on DVC is endless...I was overwhelmed just making my first reservation. Did you know there is no mousekeeping with DVC? Well, actually there kinda is. If you are there a week or less (Mlill can verify this) you get a trash/towel service. If you stay longer then a week you get T/T service and one reg. mousekeeping day. If you want it more then that you have to pay like $35/day. I just recently learned this. DH and I don't care either way...on our last trip I left a note for the cleaner that we didn't need our sheets changed until we left. I am all for conserving!! They also provide a vacuum in your room. I hope you get to join someday..it has been so exciting for us!! :cloud9:

Another Peep coming over! Welcome!! :goodvibes It's always nice to hear from other people that brought their children to WDW from day one. That's our plan and I know it will work for us. I know my SIL is entitled to her opinions, and if her kids were mine I would run the other way too, but she better not judge us again when the day comes! :headache:

Thanks for the reassurance. At a family picnic yesterday, Dh's favorite (and normal!) aunt was very interested in our DVC purchase. She is a huge WDW fan and usually stays at the Poly. She was so excited she kept asking other people if they had heard. No one else seemed interested. Oh well. I knew she would be so that's why we told her.
I was having a food attack last night..I wanted sweets bad!! I didn't give in though. But I did browse your food pics again Michele. It's the first time DH checked them out as well. We were both drooling!!!! :thumbsup2

I am going to finish up dinner and post the VERY EXCITING (Peeps should know by now how sarcastic I am..hint, hint! ;) )purchase pics. Did I tell you that each item cost only 16cents? Hmm.

Nah..it's not that much different. Save your money!! :goodvibes
OK good I am glad I asked!

Actually there is a picture of my horse on this thread. Post #32 to be exact. I also don't really consider my DH "extra" size.

All's I can say is :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao:

Who is OP???

I just got the Passporter too! I paid top dollar at the Bookstore in Downtown Disney(land)....but it's totally worth it! I haven't checked out the newest version of the UG, but now I'm curious.

Hi UM....can't wait to hear about your latest trip! I have the Passporter too...its awaiting our trip!

You're rockin' so far!!!!!!

I can't wait to see more pics either....:3dglasses
