The horse girl, her big guy and WDW..a trip report! Update 8/4-Day 10, pg 26!

I can't believe the size of the dvc book! Did they ask for a dna sample and your first born too?:) I wish I had room to have my suitcases out early and it's so cute that you already have your me tags on!

I know..isn't it huge? All our mortgage papers could fit inside!! :rotfl: Yeah we have two extra bedrooms...one is the dogs' room and the other is just the right size for a baby!! ;)
Great installment, E! Loving the pics!
popcorn::

Thanks..I'm glad you are enjoying!! 31 more days!

Thanks!! I am hoping to maintain it this week. Didn't eat that great over the weekend. :scared1:

No, those pills didn't make me sleepy at all. Walking all day at Disney did though!! ;)
You are doing a great job....is it Weight Watchers you are doing? Thats the only real plan that works!

That is a great idea to take the MS pills every day as a precaution. I may make DH do that, as he has MS problems. Congrats on the WL! :)
I took one MS pill to go Whale Watching. It worked in terms of no sea sickness but I was soooooo tired for the rest of the day

I always call DH from work to see what came in the mail each day. Today he said we had something from Magical Express. Could it be? I figured they wouldn't be here for another 2 weeks. But alas, the luggage tags had arrived!! :woohoo:

005.jpg

Of course I can't forget how close our vacation is but when you get these tags it just makes it seem all that much closer!!! :cloud9:

One of my best friends called me this afternoon...she said she wants to go to WDW in April (I told her that is NOT the best time to go but it's all she can do) with her son, sister and her sister's 2 kids. She asked me to plan for her!!! Does this sound familiar Punkin? :rotfl: She has never been to WDW before and wants me to find a hotel for her that can sleep 5. The kids are 10, 7 and 4. She wants me to set everything up. I was just telling DH the other day that I would love to plan Disney vacations for people. What a great job!! She also wants me to help plan what parks on what day when they release the schedules. So I have some research to do tonight. Has anyone stayed at in an AS Family Suite?? I don't think she could afford a villa at a deluxe resort. I am so excited. DH said this should keep me busy until I can plan our Dec. 08 trip next spring!! ;)

Should I be worried that our Tags havent arrived? I think I will email our AAA agent and see what's up. I think thats great you can help your friend plan her trip! It is fun!!! I am sure she will appreciate it! :yay:

What do I get for being the 100th poster?

:rolleyes1

A massage! Sit down and relax! Close your eyes (puts on massage chair for 15 minutes).....there....how was that?

Hey guys...I thought I would post pics of what I did this weekend. I brought my suitcases down from the crawl space and put my ME tags on them!! Only 33 days to go. I think DH thinks I am weird for setting them up in the spare bedroom already but alas, I just couldn't look at those tags and not do something!!! :rotfl:

And that's the teeny update for today. I just read a GREAT TR this afternoon....from a girl that worked at WDW through the college program last year. Check it out if you have some time!! :thumbsup2

Hey...good job for packing early~
Oh no not another trippie.....I am trying to downsize....awwwww I bet it is really good too.....oh.....no......I....cant ....... resist.........:sad2:

Hey, I saw that you commented on my TR (your comments were really sweet, thank you SO much, BTW) and so I came over to read your pre-trippie! It's great so far... you said you ramble, but I don't see it! I just see interesting things... I love the extra little tidbits. I know you are going to have a fabulous time! Congrats on becoming a DVC member... perhaps that will be in my far off future... I am not sure, but that's gotta feel good! :)

And thanks for mentioning me in THIS report. I'm... speechless. (For once in my life.) THANK YOU. And can't wait to read more!

She's the best Lam....and yes, I want to read your trippie too!!! Gosh, work does get it the way!

Thanks for stopping by! The Bonine did not make me sleepy at all...hard to tell though b/c I was pooped by the day's end from walking all over Disney!!

I am not doing any "diet plan" so to speak. I just watch my fat content and try to eat fruit for a snack. I also don't eat 2 hours before bed. I walk 5x's a week with two of the kids from work but I can only walk as fast as the 3yo feels like going! :rotfl:

Hope you got to check out Lam's TR! It's great!!! I don't want it to end!

I wouldn't worry about the ME tags...I was told 3 weeks before and we are still at 4. :confused3

Ok guys...nothing to exciting to you viewers but pretty exciting to me!! I ordered an AP on Saturday since I am going twice this year. (Again in Sept for the Peeps Meet!) I had considered doing will-call to save the $3 in shipping fees but figured I didn't want to wait in line when we got there to pick it up. So I had it mailed and got my nice AP voucher today. I have no idea why I thought I would get an actual ticket! I have ordered tickets from Undercover Tourist before and they send the real tickets. Anyway, here is a pic of the lovely LIME GREEN voucher. I will still have to wait in line to exchange it but at least you guys get to see it. Aren't you special!! ;)

In other news.................I am super excited b/c my Peep Punkin bought some of our extra DVC points from us this week. I get to make a reservation for her at SSR tomorrow!! :woohoo: I'm going to live vicariously through her b/c I won't have another trip to book until January (for Xmas '08) :santa:

So I was cruising the DVC website last night (which is always trouble for me) and started looking at Hilton Head Island and Vero Beach. Next summer I wanted to go on a short vacation that is not Disney related. I was going to make a reservation at a lodge in the Adirondacks that we used to go to every summer growing up. It's like $200/day (includes family style buffet meals twice a day) and then 12% room tax. Not too bad. Here is a pic!

guestcottage.jpg

I love this place...I think we stopped going in '93ish. It's probably my first choice but it would be about about $200 more. Not that much really. Or we could use DVC points and stay at HHI/VB for 5 nights for only 60 pts. The only cost to us would be the drive down, food and a hotel since we would have to split the trip down. I think it's 16 hrs.

I would love to hear if anyone has stayed at HHI before. :goodvibes

YOU'RE excited?????? i'm excited too!!! :yay: :yay: :yay: i can't believe i have to wait like 11 months now!

:yay: Its getting ever so close!!! My big packing weekend is only two away. This weekend is Memorial Day Weekend....Happy MD :smickey: (Look Mickey wearing a flag) and then the following weekend is dance recital for DD3. Then its 1 1/2 weeks of school and packing week:laundy: for Disney. I plan on having everything packed that I can a week ahead of time. I also have to ship a few boxes to our resort about 10 days in advance.

That ticket just happened to be lime green....how ironic! I bet you will really enjoy having the annual pass....no telling if an impromptu trip will spring up. And, after all, you already have your tix! :earboy2:

I am not sure when my packing weekend will be..probably the 15th. I can't tell if I am more excited for my job to end for the summer or Disney!! I have waited 10 months for this trip...I don't think it's sunk in how quick it's coming up!!! :cloud9:

LOVE the lime green voucher! How cool!!!

And I do the same things with the suitcases. In fact, I still have one duffle type bag with some stuff in it from last Sept that I will leave packed until this Sept :rotfl: I like to keep a bag or suitcase in the spare room before an upcoming trip so as I acquire must have items I can toss them in there and know I will be able to find them!

Hi! I'm loving your PreTR. Everything sounds great. I'm sorry about your SIL. She sounds like a real (bad word I can't say).:rotfl: Hopefully she'll get better one day.:confused3 All your plans sound wonderful. We saw Cirque last year and it was amazing. The only problem I had was it wasn't long enough. We had the cheapest tickets and in my opinion I would sit there again. The seats were on the left side of the stage almost at the top. I would not sit in the bottom because most of the stage rises up so you are lookin up most of the time. Where we sat was perfect because we didn't have to look left/right, up/down. We just kept straight ahead. I loved it and I would love to see another cirque one day. I'm trying to remember the places you listed for DD. We eat at WCC every year we go. They have really good food and the skillet is awesome. You get so much food. (We are going about the same time y'all are in September. Maybe we'll see each other.) On another note...I think you should get the Bride/Groom ears. That way every one knows. I think it's so cute when couples do this. You get a lot of attention, especially in the restaurants. Also you can pick up buttons at the front of the theme parks that say you are on your honeymoon. You prolly know all this but I figured I'd try to help.:wizard: I hope your trip is great and I can't wait to hear more.

I just put the laundry detergent and motion sickness pills in them today..they are way too empty still! ;)

Thanks for stopping by! We ate at WCC last trip and might squeeze it in again this time. I was going to check the itinerary today actually! I am glad you liked Cirque. I was hoping it would worth the high ticket prices....we bought the middle level seats. DH wants to wear the ears although I am leaning twds. just the button. I like to blend in with the crowd..not a stand out kind of girl!! :rotfl:

Hi there, just found your report (saw your post on my trippie!).

How exciting! You don't have long to wait now at all. We leave June 23 for our annual week in Maine so we are counting down too!

First my best friend also lives in Rochester. Chances you know her probably slim to none but I figured I would mention that!

Second, my girls love horses! They have been riding about 2.5 years now and want their own horse more than anything. Both have started jumping (really teensy jumps) and love it. Makes me nervous as anything. I never knew a thing about horses till they started lessons and from spending so much time at the barn we ride at I have really learned how amazing these animals are. Such personalities they have!

Thirdly, way to go on the DVC! How awesome! I wish we could do that someday but it is doubtful, as you know from my report my Grumpy is no big fan of the World!

Your food choices sound great! We were just discussing ours for our March trip and LTT came up. We have never been but it has made the short list. Is the food what you love most or the character interaction? Do tell!

Allyson

I have waited 10 months for this trip...I don't think it's sunk in how quick it's coming up!!! :cloud9:

question......how did you do it??? how did you manage waiting 10 months??? now granted, i did wait 9 months for our may trip after booking it in august last year, but i hadn't found the DIS at that point (didn't find it til january), so i wasn't obsessing yet. AND i hadn't been to WDW in 15 years! now that i've gone back and gotten a taste, i don't want to wait 10 months! (god......i sound like a crack head. i guess disney is like crack in a way! maybe i shouldn't have typed that.....it might be considered sacreligious here on the DIS!) and my little ticker deal says 10 months, three weeks and some-odd days. any suggestions to pass the time will be appreciated!!!

Where in Rochester is your friend? I am in Greece. My cousin lives kinda close to you..in Salem. That's a neat little town. I have only been to Boston to go to the aquarium!

DH and I are meat & potatoes kind of people..that's why we love LTT. It reminds me of a small Tgiving dinner. We like the characters but that's not why we go. It's a real intimate setting...rustic since it looks like a 1700's house. I love anything from the 1700/1800's! I think it's definitely worth checking out. Plus, I think kids would eat the food as well. I also like that's it's served family style like Ohanas (glad you enjoyed it..it's our fav TS!!)

That's great that your girls are into horses. I think I started riding when I was 7. I was huge into jumping for the first 15 years or so. Now for the last ten years I have been riding western and dressage. Guess I am too old (aka wimpy! ;) ) for jumping. My horse is pretty big (16.1H) and would make a great jumper but neither of us like it so we just mosey on western..usually on trail rides a few nights a week. I mentioned this to a PP...are there riding day camps for your girls? I went to my first horse sleep-away camp at about 10 yrs. old and loved it! What a great experience!! :cloud9:
I don't think I got "my" first horse until I was 17. I still have him but he is reitired and lives with a friend. He isn't the one who's pic I posted in the beg. My dad had a QH when I was younger. He was western and at that time I found it completely boring and hardly rode him!! Now it's all I practically ride!! Perhaps you can find a horse to lease?? That's not usually too much?? Have they watched The Black Stallion yet? That's my fav. horse movie of all time!!

How did you keep from crying when you surprised your kids and they didn't have the reaction you were looking for? I would have built it up in my mind a 1000 times and been crushed to not have the reaction I was looking for!!

Remember I was planning a wedding as well and had all that lovely SIL $^%& to deal with at the same time. I think what helped is after we got back in Aug there was only 4 months until I could book our ADRs. I also started a new job last fall so that helped take my mind off it. I am not sure how I will do after the Sept. Peep Meet. I will then have 15 months until the next trip. Although Ray did like the idea of Hilton Head Island next summer. But it's not really Disney but a vacation none the less!!! I used to have a ticker that said so many days until I can make my ADR's. I strongly suggest that one..it helps!!!

Hi Tara :wave2: Loving your pre trippie, one thing though when you were saying about MS pills I totally thought it stood for Mission Space rather than motion sickness :lmao:
