Next up... Day One Plans

I'm joining in & have enjoyed reading it!
We're checking into WDW on the 18th! :woohoo: Just one more week! :woohoo:
You have a beautiful family. I couldn't help but notice from your Disney picture, your skin is gorgeous!
I LOVE your carry-on bag!
I was in a photopass share on my trip ('08) & it went great. We had lots of great pictures.
I'm in another share for this trip. You have me worried & I hope it goes good too. I also hope there will be lots of PP photographers around.

I also have a PTR & I can't wait to read about your plans!

Welcome! So you are checking in on the 18th as well?:cool1: That is the best feeling! I can finally say we leave on Saturday!!

I am very light skinned and lazy about a strict skin program but my mother had me using oil of olay since I was literally 12 years old, just the regular old school stuff. I wear bare escentials make-up and since I started wearing it, (about 5 years now) my skin has improved while the product is on and off. I swear by it.

I just read your Pre-trip report and ignore my above post. Nobody needs to say anything around you and skin.

I love the bag but it appears as if you love or hate it. The pattern is very bright, but I love it for that reason!

I think the share can go well, but for me, it was just a hot mess. Probably had more to do with the organization of the group than the idea of the share it's self. The worst thing that happens is that you lose a few bucks, but you will still have your photo pass numbers, so it's not as if all will ever be lost. I am sure it will go well!

I am going over to read your pre-trip right now!

I forgot about oil of olay, I remember my mom always using that!

I have always wanted to try Bare Escentials make-up. I keep saying that I'm going to get a make-over at the mall to see how I like & to know which products/shade to buy. It's too expensive for me to figure out on my own!

If you go to Sephora, they will do it for you. If you went to a Bare Escentials store, you may feel obligated to buy. I have brought a few people to Sephora for it and BE really isn't for everyone. The make up artist really doesn't care as they are not on commision.

HTH!

OMG OMG, it's almost here and time to plan out each day! Here are my plans for Day One...

Our flight will be leaving at 10:15 am! I am so happy it isn't 7 am in the morning this time. It is a non-stop Southwest flight and so we should be there in a little over two hours. We have another family who will be going down the same flight as us who work at our company. We didn't plan this, but what luck we found out before hand! Their names are Amy and Danny and they have a four year old named Ricky. Once we found out, we planned a night (MNSSHP) and a breakfast with them.

This is a picture of Amy and Ricky:

I worked with both of them in Jacksonville, and I can't tell you how many people thought we were the same person or sisters at the very least. It's actually how we got to know each other because people would walk up to me and start talking like they knew me and I would have to stop them and ask what project are we working on together. Then I would say, I am not Amy, I am Annie and they would look at me weird. I finally met Amy one day and while she is a true sweetheart, I don't see the resemblence. Pale and redheaded doesn't mean we are the same person. DH and her DH don't see it either. Do you? Amy loves anything with princesses, truly believes in the Disney magic and is in love with the whole Disney vacation idea. I don't have any pictures of Danny, but he's one of a kind. If I make a trip report, I will include pics of him. He loves Star Wars and podcasts. He's nerdy and has a sense of humor that is very different, but I like it. Ricky loves Cars, Buzz and the Incredibles. He's a sweet boy and is absolutely insanely tall for his age. He turns four tomorrow and looks like a 6 year old! He is very protective of Jack and I am so glad Jack will have a friend to travel there with.

Anyhoo! We will be parking our car in the Budget rent a car lot for $4 a day (not too bad as the reg one is 10 dollars a day) and taking a shuttle to the airport, which is right across the street. After checking my bags, I will probably do a dance of joy :dance3: as I have never used magical express. I am bringing three pieces of luggage, and two carry on's. I am trying to get this down to one carry-on as DH and I are also bringing our back packs. I don't want to be too overloaded. Breakfast will be a a granola bar at home and then Dunkin Donuts at the airport! Now, this might not be a big deal to you, but this is the only Dunkin Donuts in city and I am love  with their coffee. YUM!

Hopefully we will have a stress free flight. The last flight we were on with DS he realized there was nothing between the plane and the ground and he freaked out on the way to NYC. However, on the way home, he could not care less. Now, here is where we may have issues as well. Danny is an absolute freak when it comes to planes. A few years back he went to New Orleans with co workers and he started wigging out and it was bad enough that the whole company knew about it. Not trying to pry, I asked Amy what he intended to do as this was obviously still a plane and she said he was going to the doctor for medication??? :scared1: We are staying at the same hotel, so I have told Amy that I will help her with Ricky if Danny is still feeling out of it on the Magical Express. Has anyone ever known anyone to get medication for this fear? Sounds odd and I am glad I don't have any issues with family flying like that.

We should get in about 1:50 EST and should be at Pop around 3:00 pm to check in. Off to the Pop store to get an autograph book, pen and then our mugs! After we get freshened up, I am hoping to go directly to MK! I have no ADR's for that evening, so I thought we'd just get some counter service from the Columbia house and hopefully we can stay late enough for fireworks.

Just typing this is getting me even more excited!!!

Next Up... Day Two's plans!:cool1:

Hope everyone had a great weekend... This one is for all those coming to DW this week...

Day one sounds like great plans!
That is too neat that you & your friend, Amy, are going the same time. Ya'll are going to have so much fun doing MNSSHP & brkfst together!
Hopefully Danny will be knocked out enough not to freak out on you, but not enough where you have to carry him off of plane! :upsidedow

I'm in love with Dunkin Donuts chocolate munchkins!

Wow, I'm jealous of the cost of your airport parking! In the economy lot at our airport, it's $9 a day. Unfortunately it's kind of in the middle of nowhere, so no outside parking garages are around. Oh well!

I haven't had to take medication for anxiety, but I do have to take Valium before I fly as a muscle relaxer. Originally that's what it was used for, before they realized how great it works for anxiety. But anyway...I have TMJ (inflamed jaw joint) and the pressure of the air plane KILLS my ears, since the tubes are already tighter than normal from the TMJ. The whole first day I'm practically deaf, and in excruciating pain. The valium helps relax the muscles around the jaw/ear, and the relaxation is just an added bonus!

Our first day is an MK day too! We're arriving a little earlier though. Our flight leaves at 6:40 am, we'll be (hopefully) landing around 9 am and getting to POP at 10 something. Then off to MK, early lunch at Columbia Harbour House (a tradition for our first day :)), go back for a nap whenever the room's ready, since we'll have left the house at like 3:30 am, and then DTD and DisneyQuest for the evening and dinner.

It's so scary how close it is!!

Flying is always stressful for me. Between the security and carry-on search is enough to stress me out but not enough to take any medication. After my last ordeal with the return flight, it's save to say I won't be flying for a while unless it is absolutely necessary. :sad2:

$4 a day for parking is super bargain. I paid $12 a day on our last trip. For some reason, I can hardly find Dunkin Donuts down at the south. We have Dunkin Donuts every where here up north. But when I get to North Carolina, Dunkin Donuts is more like treasure hunt. Pretty much Virgina is the last state I can find Dunkin Donuts. I think their coffee is much better than Star Buck.

MK is always a great start for first day. :thumbsup2

5 days and counting... :goodvibes

That is a great price for airport parking. I think our Economy parking is closer to ten dollars a day! :scared1:

I'm one of those people who also hate to fly and am completely freaked out by it...I even scared a flight attendant in 2004. :sad2:

My doc now gives me Valium to try and take the edge off, but it usually doesn't work until I'm on the ground and then I'm all calm for a bit at Disney. I know others swear by it or others like it and that it works perfect for them, so maybe that will help Danny out.

I know!!! I am truly very lucky and it also allowedme to help her with her travel plans, as she is not well travelled. I had to travel all the time for work, so she had no idea how much luggage would cost if she didn't fly Southwest. Poor thing can't even talk to much to her DH about Disney because as you can probably tell, he is nervous about the flight. Danny is close to 6 foot if not taller, but I am sure we can carry him off with our adrenalin pumping to get off the plane. :yay: Here's hoping for some pixie dust for him to make it a happy flight :wizard:

I mispoke, or mistyped... Here are the parking rates:

Long Term= 10 per day
Economy = 6 per day
Budget Rental Car = 4 per day
Budget is actually closer that the Economy lot!

Nice and relaxed would be nice, so if he has to take it at home, I am all for it! He goes on Wednesday so I will make sure to update everyone on how it goes for him. I did not get waterparks or more on this trip. Have you done it before? Or are you just doing Disney Quest? I am still trying to make up my mind, so if you have any advice it would be awesome!

Oh My Gosh! What is it with hiding the Dunkin Donuts? I even have another secret love for when I travel to the North East and it's name is Tim Horton's. I am truly in love with their sour cream tidbits. It's a horrible obsession so bad that when people ask me where I ate breakfast, I just say Timmy's and they know exactly where I am talking about.

MK is because I want my son to feel that Magic from the moment we get there, and no place has more magic than Magic Kingdom for a 2 year old! 5 days! Four working days... How will I make it through!!!

You poor thing about the flying issues. I only get a bit nervous taking off and landing, but that's only 20 minutes of a flight, so I have nothing to complain about. Valium sounds like a winner around here and I hope he and his family gets what he needs to make it a magical trip!

On Sunday we are hoping to take it slow in the morning... I know this sounds absolutely horrible for the avid planner; however, I have promised my DH that there will be more relaxation this trip and I am... get this... planning to relax. I will let him sleep in and have a nice later breakfast by the pool. DS and I will wake up and explore the resort. Pop has so many parts of it that are so much fun I just can't wait! Then, we are going for a dip in the pool and off to get ready for Hollywood Studios. We have Lunch/Dinner reservations for Mama Melrose so we could get the Fantasmic tickets. This is an absolute blessing as we have never been able to get reservations for Fantasmic before. Has anyone ever eaten here? I hope the food is good. I have never seen Fantasmic and this is why we are going to take it easy in the morning. I have my fingers crossed that DS will be able to make it! Has anyone seen this show? On these boards I never hear too much about it, but I am excited to see it!

This what I want to see at HS:
Muppet*Vision 3-D
Playhouse Disney—Live on Stage!™
Toy Story Mania!
Voyage of The Little Mermaid
Block Party Bash

DH will ride the thrill rides like Rockin Rollercoaster while I bring DS to the Honey I shrunk the kids backstage lot. So excited! Four days and counting!!!!:cloud9:

Next Up... Day Three!

The Muppet Vision 3D was fun for me because it was one of my favorite shows when I was little!
We saw Fantasmic & it was a great show, you'll love it!

So glad you liked Fantasmic!!! Hope we like it too!

I LOVE the muppet show as a kid. Somehow I never saw this attraction. I wanted to see one man's dream, but it's closed for refurb while we are there.

Thank Goodness I am off on Friday! Three more days of work!
