The Hill Family's Surprise Vac(PICS)*NEW*Final Thoughts,Tips & Pictures **4/25

:lmao: what a funny shark pic! All your pictures are so cute or entertaining or yummy! And your family picture is really (I don't know if that's the right english word ?? in that case) felicitous. I'm sure your eyes are sparkeling behind the sunglasses and are NOT doing weird things.

I hope your charming DD didn't have to giggle before she swallowed the beverage. Because she looks like that.

Your trip report is awesome and your kids are the cutest!! I am going to surprise DD (6) with a Mommy/Daughter trip in December by picking her up from school and telling her then....when we are on our way to the airport!! We are going to meet my parents for a week at POP!! (They live a mile from us and will have been there for a few days, so my plan is to tell her that we need to go see Grammy and Pa-Pa because I miss them and see how long it takes her to figure it out) Hey wait...how did my weekend at WDW turn into a week?? :confused3 :rotfl2: :thumbsup2

I can't wait to read more and see more pictures!! Isn't AKL just beautiful...and that smell when you walk in...ahhhhhhh!!

Have a great weekend!!

Me too - except she is 12. She has no idea about this trip - it's been hard not to say anything

enjoying your report so far - your family is beautiful and your kids are always beaming! sounds like a magical trip - cant believe you could keep it a secret

looking forward to more...

Okay, just when you were getting to the good part. I can't wait to hear about the tea at the GF. :teeth: Hurry back..... :moped:

PS And as stated by Umama, no winks, blinks, or double chins. We need 8x10 glossies, and a couple of 5x7 prints of any picture you will be submitting for public display. Just for our records of course.
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

YES, They ARE psychos AND weirdos!!! I'm laughing that we all had the same funny feeling! Like it's a blind date. Or will it end up on CSI Orlando or something!

JUST SO YOU KNOW...we were there on this same day (in the morning) AND we ate at the same place and I ate the same weird sham-itch as YOU!!! I wonder if we crossed paths before we met!???

Did you build a robot at Innoventions? THAT is way fun!

You just crack me up! Thanks for doing such a great job to entertain your fans!!!

E.T- VERY funny, missy!!!

Your pictures just get better and better! That sandwhich looked SOOOO good! I'm glad you all enjoyed Mission Space, and that it didnt FINISH you for the rest of the day! I can't wait to see the rest! :teeth:

Epcot Mon. Sept. 11

With today being 9/11; the 5th anniversary of that terrible morning, I could not help thinking about that. The victims and their families weighed heavily on my mind and heart this morning. :sad1: Let us never forget….

DSC_0211.jpg

As you have probably sensed by now we all enjoy sweets and especially chocolate. So of course we gobbled up our desserts. My children never get dessert 2 times a day so they are truly loving the DDP.

DSC_0228.jpg

I understand how you felt on 9/11. My brother has a friend who was working in the Towers and he was on conference call w/ him when the planes hit. Thank God, he got out safely. I agree.... never forget.

This photo is absolutely beautiful. What a beautiful family. You can see the happiness in your childrens eyes. They just sparkle!! :goodvibes

Being on the DDP, we too had dessert 2 times a day, which never happens at home. I had a hard time explaining to DD4 when we came home that she could have her dessert either after lunch or after dinner, her choice. She threw the old "But in DW, I had dessert with both!" :confused3

Great photos!!! Oh man, look at the chocolate!!! :bitelip:

CM - thanks for the new installments - great, as usual :thumbsup2

Hope you guys had fun at the family reunion - in NE Georgia, you're not far from me

Hi Cherokeemamma,
I agree with you on being aware of your surrondings. I live outside of Atlanta as well. You have two cute children. I can't wait to hear more about your trip.

Amy&Dan: I think I want to stay at Saratoga Springs next trip. If you are still dreaming about the beds they must be great. That is a DVC resort correct? I have read where you can rent(pay for) points from owners. Do you know how that is done? That would be one of my dreams...to own DVC membership. One Day....

[

You can head over to the DVC board here on the dis to find out about renting. It can certainly be done and you can spend about what you would on a moderate I believe for DVC accomodations. We own DVC but I can't tell you much about renting because we use up all our own points and then some! But I think you would love the DVC resorts. If you decided to rent, rent from someone who has lots of postings here on the dis so that you know they have been around awhile and aren't just here to scam. And the King beds are in the one bedroom units, the studios have either two queens (at OKW) or one queen and one sleeper sofa.

Still loving your report, especially the Beverly pics! Its fun to see your kids in the places I have pictures of my own kids in for our past trips!

WHAT?!? NO UPDATE YET?!?

Please update soon! I am just in love  with your family!
You are all sooooo cute! :tinker:

I'm sitting on the edge of my seat for the next installment! :bitelip:

Hello Everyone...
I am back from the GA mountains. Sorry I haven't updated yet but I have just been tired all day. It is just beautiful in NE ga. I suggest if any of you ever get the chance ... go visit. It's nothing like WDW. As a matter of fact, I would say it is the polar opposite. Slow and laid back. There are things to do if you insist but it is mostly just enjoying the beauty of God's creation!!!
My sister was there and you girls know how that is. ;) We had little sleep but a whole lotta fun. My Dsis was overseas for 2 years :sad2: and came home in July. We were able to spend a week together and then she went back to TX to finish school. This is a yearly tradition so she has missed the last two. We are all so happy and thankful she was with us this year. :Pinkbounc Did I mention she is my baby sister? I am almost old enough to be her mama!*@*!
Well, I will be getting to my next installment in just a moment..... :rolleyes1
Thanks for being patient.

Welcome back CMama :grouphug:

Looking forward to the next post. I really love seeing your family pics. So cute! :thumbsup2

BlueApple422, DisneyObsession. Kathymc, scrappinmom, & disneylandmama: Hi and Thanks for reading. I appreciate your compliments. I am glad you are all here.

Cass: your DD is the same age as my DS. I think the older the kids the harder the surprise is to pull off. I know it was for me and DH. We had to (how should I say it) tell several little embellishments to the truth to keep the secret. :ssst:

DisneyDreamer:Best wishes for pulling off a surprise for you DD. It is hard to do but so worth it. She will flip :Pinkbounc when she discovers where she is really going!

Lan: Hi and thanks for reading. Where in Atlanta do you live? We are about 40 minutes east off 78. We moved out here about 18 mo ago. Before that we lived in Stone Mtn.

Al&Kate'sMom: Howdy Neighbor! What part of TN? Thanks for reading.

Gmax: Hi there! Thanks for the comments on my kiddos. :goodvibes I have been reading your mom's TR. She is so sweet. That note she wrote about your trip made me cry. :thumbsup2 Give her a hug from me and vice versa.

ET: Hello! I am so sorry to stop right before our Tea. I am going to get right to it though! :surfweb: I am so thrilled to know that we have a name..."The Tiaras". I think we could form a band.... :smooth: As far as the 8x10's...I think you guys might need them. You are all so popular. :)

Utahmama: Isn't that funny that we all were at the same place - Probably at the same time...and we didn't even know it. I think we were there around 11:30 or so, +/- 20 minutes.
We did not get to do the robot thing. :sad2: We had planned on it but there just wasn't enough time...another reason to return :thumbsup2

toony: I am a little embarrassed  to say I had to look up the word...felicitous...to know what it meant.. Thank you.:) You are right my DD is giggling before she swallowed the tasty drink. I wish I could have gotten her reaction a second later. It is really hard to capture the reaction of 3 diff. people without letting on that it is gonna be awful. I did not taste it myself since I knew better.

I left Epcot, boarded the monorail and headed to TTC. You know how all transportation at WDW takes longer than you ever imagine it might? Well, today would prove to be no different. I left, in what I thought would be plenty of time but I was starting to stress that I would be late. I got to the TTC and changed lines and was on my way to the GF. When we arrived at GF the doors of the monorail would not open. I sat there and wondered if I was trapped? I am thinking, of course, this would only happen to the car I was in. After what felt like several minutes…the doors finally open. Wheeew …. I made it!
I head inside and WOW another beautiful resort. The GF is really an elegant and gorgeous resort. I know this place would be fantastic at Christmas. I can just imagine that huge gingerbread house in the foyer. aahhh the smell…

DSC_0262.jpg

As I mentioned earlier, I am a bit nervous and having irrational thoughts about what if…. What if ...they turn out to be incredibly strange  or ... :crazy2: weird or what if ...they seem psychotic :badpc: ? If they are wierd I will say I have to use the rest room and I just won’t return. :) That’s it! I also figure what kind of craziness can actually happen in the GF at WDW? :confused3

I start to look around and wonder how in the world I will recognize these ladies that I’ve never met. Well lo and behold…in the middle of the lobby, sitting on a couch were 3 women. Two of them were wearing lime green. I knew this must be them. I headed over. Eeyore’s Tiara greeted me with a big smile and a hug. I met Utahmama and Mickygirl76. We all exchanged hellos and within a few minutes in came Glendamax and her mom. We head on over to the Tea Room. It is such a pretty room …so girly. princess: My DD would love it.

These ladies were all so sweet and genuine that I did not even think about my escape route again. The conversation flowed and the laughs continued all afternoon. :goodvibes The waitress came around with a box of teas for us to choose from. I chose the Mad Hatter. It had a berry flavor and was very tasty. I think several of the others chose the same.

DSC_0260.jpg

ET was our hostess and I found her to be kind and genuine. She is extremely generous and thoughtful. I felt as though we had known each other for years. I could imagine her as someone who would give great advice and always have an open door at her home for friends. :goodvibes

DSC_0261.jpg

Her friend was with her, Mickeygirl76. Mickeygirl76 was also very friendly and seemed to enjoy herself immensely.

DSC_0257.jpg

Glendamax was also very friendly and warm as was her Mom. She and her mom were both so funny. I guess like typical mother/daughters. One likes this..the other likes that…but the love is so evident you could see it a mile away. :lovestruc They were both so much fun and it was great hearing about their adventure through both her and her mom’s eyes.

DSC_0259.jpg

Umama was so very sweet and funny. I found her to be very friendly and genuine. As you might imagine Umama is a great conversationalist. I can imagine her as someone who always knows how to make you feel right at home. She shared some of her funny stories with us.

I must tell you that Umama did not embarrass us even once. :teeth: She behaved herself all afternoon. :thumbsup2 I know you guys were talking bail and jail just a couple of days before ….but thankfully there was no need. There was some talk about silverware and teacups…but as we had already agreed upon, “What happens at Disney, Stays at Disney.” :ssst:

ET presented us each with a lime green velvet bag and inside was a tiara!!! I couldn’t believe it…my very own tiara. Thank you ET!!! I have since refused to give it to my DD. I told her to forget it!!!

DSC_0252.jpg

We all placed our tiaras on our head and smiled like true princesses. Now, this is the embarrassing part…the other ladies all whipped out these wonderful, little gifts and I sat there without anything to give. Boy was I embarrassed. Especially since I am a southern woman….where in the world were my manners. :sad2: I have to say I just didn’t think about it. Oh my gosh…for that I wanted to die. But they were all so gracious and kind. Not once did they make me feel badly about my snafu.

DSC_0253.jpg

The waiter brought over a tray of bracelets and presented each of us one as a memento from the day. He said they give these to the little girls who have a princess tea there and since we were a princesses we should have one also. Of course we all got a kick out of that!

We then ordered food. The sandwiches were very good but my favorite was the onion tart. I do not like onions but this was delicious. It had a sweet buttery taste. YUM! I did not care for the duck pate’ but I did try it.
There were several pastries to choose from and I chose the chocolate covered strawberry and the petite éclair. Once again…YUM!!!

We all took pictures and talked about Disney, our families and shared other little tidbits from our lives. We laughed and ate. It was a wonderful afternoon.

Where in the world did the time go?.....I looked over and saw my DH , DD and DS wandering throughout the lobby. The time had really flown by. We got up to leave and said our goodbyes and before you knew it we were each on our own…going our own direction. Our tea was over but new friendships had just begun…Thank you ET for your generosity and thoughtfulness. Thank you ladies for making our time together so special and so much fun. Thank you for your friendliness. :grouphug: It will be something I will never forget.

We had ADR’s at Alfredo’s in about 1 hour. Oh, my gosh, I cannot believe I have to eat again.

You made me sound so nice! :goodvibes I hopefully am really that way in real life.... :teeth: I love the tea party installment. Your pictures are still amazing by the way. It's funny how we each have a different perspective on the same event. I love it. You caught things I didn't, Gmax caught things i didnt, and I can't even imagine Umamas perspective... I really had a great time with all of you and feel like you are all really good friends that I have had for a long time. It was so comfortable meeting you. :goodvibes

And YOU were the gift at the tea party. Just having you there was a gift. Thank you for coming, all of you made my trip more magical. :wizard: And the pictures you gave me are priceless. :)

Keep on writing, I want to hear how your trip ended! :goodvibes

Puh-Leeeeese! You had no need to be embarrassed! I was surprised that everyone bought something! I didn't know they were going to exchange gifts either! But I HAD to bring something after bugging EVERYONE UNDER THE SUN about making those matching shirts for my Mom and I. I thought ET was going to have my email and calls blocked!

OH! And thank you for the wonderful picture you took of my Mother and I (sigh). I actually look a bit lady-like in spite of my post Animal Kingdom hair do!

GMax: Have you been up all night? I really feel kinda like I have :p . I went to bed around 2 and got up before 6! Yuk!!! I really need at least another couple hours...oh well. Perhaps, this afternoon.

I thought you looked lovely. I think you are very photogenic...all of your pictures are good. I haven't seen a bad one yet!

ET: As far as the pictures go....You know you are more than welcome. Glad you liked them. ::yes:: Yes, I do think you are that nice. I bet everyone agrees with me.

The tea was alot of fun.
