We will be celebrating our 30th anniversary this August with a trip that begins with 7 nights at AKL. I know most of the obvious romantic ideas, and have already arranged for some of them. My question, what are some of the lesser known, romantic experiences that you have had at WDW.

Congrats on the Anniversary!!!!!!

One of the most romantic things we did was PD from a CM!! we were walking in MExico at EPCOT and a CM saw us holding hands and we stopped for a small kiss (we were inside by the restaurant) the CM came to us and asked how long we were together and we told him we had just gotten married the day before!! he told us to follow him and he took us through the EXIT of Rio Del Tiempo and shouted to the girl loading the boats: WE NEED A ROMANTIC BOAT!!! and the girl said ROMANTIC BOAT COMING RIGHT UP and she put us int he middle row of our OWN boat!!!! and the both sent us away shouting "ROMANTIC BOAT COMING THROUGH" and then everyone in line clapped, we kissed and had a wonderful time just watching the ride :)

A walk around your resort at night is FABULOUS! and we loved a Carriage Ride!

We celebrated our 25th Anniversary last May (just hit 26!) and one of the things we really enjoyed was strolling along the paths at the Polynesian after dark. The tiki torches are flickering, they play soft island music, the palm trees sway in the breeze, and the way the paths wind around this way and that help you feel safely "lost in the South Seas". Plus, there's the beautiful views of the MK, CR and GF, and if you time it right, you can see the Electrical Water Parade and/or MK Fireworks. It's a "cheap date", but very romantic....

Be well!

Congrats. The wife and I just celebrated 10 years at WDW last month. Not in any order:
-Walk at night at the Poly. Have some fancy pants drink with an umbrella. The torches help make the scene.
-Narcossee's(sp?) at the GF. Drinks and a nice dinner and then catch the fireworks.
-Victoria and Alberts. Expensive, but truely a once in a lifetime experience.
-Sit on the benches in the back of France.
-One of our most memorable times was getting nachos and margarita's at the take out place in Mexico. We grabbed a place to sit near the african outpost area. We sat and talked and watched people go by. At the time the Tapestry of Dreams was running. We always remember that great time. Taking a deep breath and watching the world go by for a while.
-share an ice cream somewhere. can't beat that.

I could go on and on. Congrats and enjoy every minute.

A stroll around the Poly does sound very nice. Michelle, where did you take the carriage ride?

Here's some info on the Carriage rides...

We have one booked at FW for our 5th Anniversary next month. You are allowed, by the way, to bring your own beverages aboard. We are bringing champagne & champagne glasses.

I called the 407-WDW-PLAY for reservations.

I agree with the Poly being very romantic. We walk the beach there for romance, get our drinks and watch the fireworks over the castle.

Also, we took a picnic basket of wine and cheese to a hillside at the GF, put down a blanket and watched the fireworks from there too.

Happy Anniversary!

Thank you for the link, I think the carriage ride is an excellent idea. When you did your 'picnic' at the GF, were you guests at that resort?

No, we just went over for the day, walked around the resort, saw the shops and sights, then set up our little picnic.
We weren't bothered, it was pretty private, and very nice.
Just watch out for those gators! (Everybody is talking about them now, even though nothing has changed...they've always been around! ;) )

A few other things... are you planning on dining at the Coral Reef at all?

We are going on the fireworks cruise from WL and I've arranged for champagne, chocolate covered strawberries & raspberries to be brought aboard.

A wonderful CM at WL is helping me with my gifts to my DH. I gave a few things to her and she is going to incorporate them in to a fruit and champagne gift basket, and have it brought to our room.

I ordered a cake for our Anniversary dinner. I am thinking about bringing our cake topper from our wedding and having them put it on top.

No we won't be dining at the Coral Reef. Our ADR's are a combination of places we have enjoyed in the past and new experiences. The highlight will be our anniversary dinner at V&A. I think the only questionable ADR is at San Angel but we picked that for our final night at WDW because then we fly off for 5 nights in Cancun before returning for 5 at the Portofino Bay. As much as the cruises appeal to me, I think it would be more romantic to do your picnic idea.

We just celebrated our anniversary in WDW 2 weeks ago-25th minus one. Or a very belated honeymoon! Maybe we have a strange idea of romance, because I think of sharing a Kitchen Sink (yes, for two-we didn't finish it, but it was fun trying), riding Dumbo at night, sharing a meal in Tangerine Cafe during Illuminations. OK, we did one truly romantic thing-we picked a pearl at the stand by the Y&B and had it made into a nice ring. DH picked the pearl, then I picked the setting. And since I don't have an engagement ring, I wear it on the same finger with my wedding ring.

Wow, you all have given me some great ideas. I see the oft' mentioned Poly -- DH and I had a romantic time walking around there and watching Wishes. Too bad it was soooooo cold in Feb. I am looking forward to future, warmer WISHES watching! And also looking forward to a little more time in FRANCE!!! :teeth:

We took ours at POR!! it was fabulous! we brought plastic champagne flutes and sparkling Cider, my fave!! it was wonderful!!
I love the picnic idea! that sounds like bunches of fun!!

Another fun idea:

I am buying some great little things for DH, since we will be going to WDW around our anniversary this yr. and i am then sending them down to the resort in his name ahead of time..then when we check in, there will be a notice that there is a package for him and he will be all confused...but it will be a present from me :) just a cute surprise of sorts!!

Oh Oh, if my DW sees the pearl idea, I'm not sure she will settle for one, pearl I believe is the traditional gift for a 30th anni.

You can have pick a pearl in Japan at Epcot too - I've heard of many couples doing that. Neat idea!

picking a pearl is soo fun! but you must def. have it set right away! i tend to be scatterbrained with stuff like that, so it worked out best to set it and forget it :) i put mine on a pendant!! :)

Michelle, do you remember how much it was to put it on a pendant, and am I correct in assuming that setting for earrings were available?

I know walking around the Poly has been mentioned, but I don't only like to walk around the Poly, I like to grab a hammock and watch Wishes. DBF and I did this on a cold night, so we grabbed a blanket and cuddled up in the hammock. It was very romantic! We also had a CM do the boat ride at Mexico! I thought that was sweet of them.

After watching Wishes one night DH asked me to dance in front of the castle to the music they play as the park is closing. We danced as the crowds poured out around us. It felt like we were the only two in the park.

What a GREAT thread! DH and I are celebrating our 20th anniversary at WDW in August. We are dining at V&A on our anniversary but I also scheduled an Illuminations Cruise for our second night.

How did you arrange the champagne and chocolate covered strawberries? I have seen where you can arrange private dining but I can't seem to find a number to call. I'm thinking about giving him his gift on the cruise instead of at dinner. I think it might be more isolated. I'm thinking the champagne would be a great addition!

Thanks for any help you can give!!!
