The Happiest Summer On Earth *My WDWCP Experience*

Somebody on the Themepark Attractions and Strategies board linked to your TR in a response about CMs liking their jobs and I'm so glad they did!

Thank you so much for sharing! Your enthusiasm is truly infectious and your summer CP sounds like it was so much fun! Wow! I think I might be a bit jealous! ;) I was truly impressed with your great attitude toward cleaning bathrooms all summer. I don't think I could do it!

You write very well and your pictures are fantastic. Thank you for sharing your journal entries, too. They are a great insight into your experience. Your story about the buffies at PI had me laughing so hard! I also enjoyed your GF getaway and the description of your run to see if Johnny Depp was at PotC!

Disney should hire you to recruit for the CP! I wish I had done it while I was in college. Do they take grad students?

Have fun in Austria! I studied abroad for a year and spent a good chunk of time in Germany and Austria, studying German. It is a beautiful country and has such a rich history and culture.

WOW! With work it's taken me two days to read the whole of this report, but it is absolutely amazing! The details, the stories, the photos, everything is just brilliant, and I am eagarly awaiting the updates when you have your regular internet access back.

I have to say, I certainly have a new appreciation for CM, esp the Custodials! I have a feeling I shall be talking to every single CM member I see in the parks when I go in the summer, even if it's just to say 'hello' or 'thank you'!!!

So thank you for this very insightful and unique delve into the world of Disney CMs!

I just wanted to let you know, I am really enjoying your trip report, and hearing all about your experience working at Disney!!! Your pictures are fantastic, and I'm really hoping when my son is in college he decides to do the program. If he's really my son, he shouldn't hesitate (meaning he loves Disney just as much as I do). I admire you for realizing that you needed to take this opportunity to work at Disney, even if your friend wasn't going to go through with it. :thumbsup2 (Spoken like a true mom) I can't wait to finish reading. Great job!!!:cool1: :cool1:

Just found this TR tonight and after spending the last couple of hours completely catching up...I'm totally hooked!! Can't wait to read your next update, even if it isn't until July! I hope that you are enjoying your time in Austria!

You've kept me laughing, that's for sure!!! :goodvibes

I have a question. You've mentioned numerous times that you love guest interaction & thank yous. I'm a professional baker & have considered baking a bunch of mickey shaped sugar cookies & decorating them fancy & then piping a thank you on them & putting them in baggies to hand out to CM's that make our stay really special. We'll be pushing 2 strollers around so I won't have any problem toting them around with me. However, I was a housekeeper at cabins once & we weren't supposed to take & eat anything guests left us. Would CM's be allowed to eat my cookies? Would this be a weird awkward thing to do? And would Disney frown on me making Mickey heads? Obviously I don't sell them because of copyright laws, but could I give them away?

Thanks for any info you'd have on this. We're going in Sept & I just can't stop debating this in my head.

Oh my goodness. LaMagique, I loved, loved your latest installment. Your photos are always soo great, and your photo shoot at the Grand Floridian was absolutley too funny for words. And they're really GOOD photos too. They look like they should be in a magazine layout...

We just got back from dropping my brother off at the college program. He's in full-service restaurant. My only fear is he'll get sick of the world!

Can't wait for more!:thumbsup2

First of all, can I just say that I am absolutely delighted to have readers and regular ones at that? But I must pause in order to explain some things. The next few entries will be job specific. I am not sure how interesting they will be, but I feel like my trip report has two purposes:

1. To provide entertainment and vicarious living for the reader (at least, that’s why I read TRs)
2. Provide some useful information about the College Program

I want this TR to serve as a resource for other potential CPs, especially CUSTODIANS! But because of that, the next few entries might not be the most interesting parts of this TR. The reason why I want to warn you readers is because I want you to stick along for the ride! My entries will (hopefully) resume satisfaction of the #1 goal after I explain my job/duties at Disney. Okay, that is all: now, on with the show!

I haven't gotten further from this post yet, but I have to say, I am finding the whole CP stuff FASCINATING! Seriously - thank you for sharing it. I knew about the program way back when I was in college (an old boyfriend did it my senior year, but we had broken up by then, so we only talked occasionally, and I wasn't a Disney nut then) - but I know nothing about the inner workings of it, and I find it terribly exciting (hey, I am old I guess!).

And, you are really adorable. I love your excitement!

This is probably a stupid question, but the transportation would take you to the parks even when you weren't working?

I am seriously sitting here thinking if I went back to school to get my PHD, could I do the program? (lol, not really of course, I have kids). I wish I had done it when I was young. You are blessed!

I miss you!! I hope you are having a great time in Europe and you'll be able to check in soon. :goodvibes

I heard this was a rockin' TR so I'm here for the ride :) Gotta catch up later though - time for sleep!:cloud9:

Yup, it sure does. You can use the buses even if you are not working.

Just spent the last few hours here at work reading your TR! (Yup, I really should be working!!!:rotfl2: )

Anyway...I have loved hearing about your experiences and am really wanting to apply at WDW someday. DH & I have talked about relocating to Orlando and working at Disney. Maybe someday.

I look forward to you coming back and finishing this! Your experiences have been informative as well as entertaining!:thumbsup2

Love the photo shoot! What fun!!!
