The Happiest Honeymoon on Earth V&A Chef's Table Review (Long)

Thank you for finishing the review! It all looks terrific. I am wondering what you disliked about the cheese plate? I loooove cheese plates. What was wrong with V+A's?

I found it odd myself that I didn't care for it. I ate caviar & foie gras, but didn't care for the cheese? :confused3 Well I suppose that we are so use to the cheese we buy in the store ,being processed and everything that the taste of "true cheese" if you will, was rather strong and in some cases bitter. It also may have been the combination of flavors. I suppose my palate was just not ready or expecting the intense flavors.

What a great review - complete, honest, and lots of wonderful pictures.

The DW and I had been planning on V&A next year, but are now seriously thinking about trying for the Chef's Table.

One quick question - how long is the dining experience for the Chef's Table?

Figure being there between 3.5 and 4.6 hours. The only time is 6:00 and you will probably stay until somewhere around 10:00.

Thank you very much we enjoyed doing this review. It was a lot of fun. We were there from 6 pm until 11pm. Hope you are able to secure a ressie we know you will have a wonderful experience. :goodvibes

Thank you so much for your review of the CT! I just found Mr.disneys post this evening and have been reading the whole darn thing for HOURS....lol. My DH just started my diet today so I guess I am getting my food "fix" through the dis. :rotfl: . Although I got the "look" from my DH when I was telling him we are doing this in Oct, and showing him the pictures. ( he is having a hard time with the diet and so was ready to strangle me :P )

anyhoo, about : "What can I say about caviar? It took some courage for me to eat this. Katharine was very excited, but all I could think was "Here we go" and I had promised to try everything. At $2000 a pound, how bad could it be, right? Aimee explained about the region from whence the caviar originated. It is harvested from the Caspian Sea, and is considered by many to be the best there is. It was served with a small buckwheat "pancake" and a small portion of hard-boiled egg. There was also a slice of... again, it's name escapes me."

Were the little green slices caper berrys? thats what it looks like to me ;)

That doesn't sound familiar, but you could be right. We are so glad you enjoyed our review and wasn't Mr. Disney's review awesome? We actually got to meet him & Kevin while down there. We had lunch @ WC. We had a lot of fun. We really need to finish our other dining reviews :rotfl: its only been 3 months. We still have Narcosseess, Marakesh, CG, & a few others (with pictures of course). So be on the look out for those too. Take care and have a magical day :tink:

Thanks so much for the wonderful pictues. I have enjoyed your reviews and Mister Disney's sooo much. I am going to try for the Chefs Table for my 2007 trip. My girlfriend and I just chow on cavier and fois gras. We would eat it every day if we were Bill Gates. But keep smelly feet cheese away from me. (I am a cheese weeny. Only bland cheese for me)

Glad you had such a good time!

It looks to be a slice of good old southern okra.....best as I can tell from the photo.

The reviews are excellent and very detailed. My wife and I are looking to book the Chef's Table for our 10th Anniversary in a couple of years. :thumbsup2

You made my night. Loved your review. My DH and I were going to be at V&A for our 30th Anni. last year. Stupid Hurricane. Have to wait till this year and I can see its the chefs table for us. YUM! You really do read like an expert reviewer, thanks again. :thumbsup2 :) :)

Somebody posted a link to this in another thread, so read the review just for kicks. I'm not wealthy enough to afford meals like this and even if I had the money I'm pretty certain I could never bring myself to spend that much money on any meal. After seeing all of the photos, I don't feel quite as bad. I don't think there were more than 6 or 7 things in the entire meal that I would eat, and most of the ones I would eat were dessert items. I guess I'm just a run of the mill steak & potatoes kind of person. I'd take a big steak over this meal any day!

And I'm by no means trying to thread-crap here...I can certainly appreciate the beauty of the meal...just not my cup of tea.

Nothing wrong with an opinion, Formernyer. I loved reading the thread and I'd do this in a heartbeat, but without the wine pairings (don't care for it). Problem is, I'd be eating alone as DH would eat the beef and desserts. For a once in a lifetime, I would pay the money. I've certainly spent more on worse things.

Can't wait for your April Food reviews, Cplofdisneynutz!

Thanks we had so much fun writing these, glad people are enjoying. hope to reproduce the same quality when we return easter week.

Formernyer, we agree with Luvamouse, we definately did not feel like you were "thread-knocking" V&A isn't for everyone, but thanks for taking the time to read our review. If nothing else you now know for certain you are not missing out on anything :goodvibes Hope you enjoyed it though. have a great day
