The wait is finally over for Kim Kardashian, whose wedding to NBA star Kris Humphries was quite possibly the most anticipated event of the summer.
In an evening ceremony in Montecito, Calif., on Saturday, Kim, 30, who glowed in her Vera
Wang-designed wedding gown, said her "I do"s to Humphries, the 6-foot-9-inch New Jersey Nets forward, who she met last year through a mutual friend, Humphries' teammate Jordan Farmar.
It was a whirlwind courtship that included trips to Mexico and Bora Bora, in addition to their Fourth of July vacation to Humphries' hometown near Lake Minnetonka, but it all culminated in a magical wedding day.
From the moment Humphries, 26, spelled out "Will you marry me?" in rose petals on the bedroom floor of her Beverly Hills home on May 18 and presented her with a 20.5-karat, $2 million engagement ring, Americans followed their every move, sparking comparisons to England's royal newlyweds.
Anyone who's anyone received their Lehr & Black invitation, embellished with hundreds of jet-black hematite crystals, to the event. Celebs in attendance included Lindsay Lohan, Demi Lovato, Eva Longoria and Mario Lopez, according to People.
Included among the pre-wedding milestones was the wedding cake, a 10-tier white cake with chocolate-chip icing and black-and-white decorations. Made by Hansen's Cakes in L.A. for a reported $15,000 to $20,000, it was also designed to resemble Prince William and Duchess Kate's wedding dessert.
Also making news was Kim's decision to use good friend Vera Wang as her dress designer. The new bride wore an ivory custom-made gown by the designer. She also planned two more changes -- in dresses by Wang -- later in the evening.
"I've been to a ton of weddings; this is not even comparable to any other wedding," Humphries' groomsman Adam Sosnick tells Wonderwall. "Last year at this time, I doubt Kris saw himself getting married, but when it's right, it's right."
I heard Justin didn't go because Selena wasn't invited :/
