I put that photoset on private to mess with all the people who keep posting the link to it on Facebook.

It's up to 33,204 notes and I hate pretty much everyone.

My mom wrote me a note about my senior cheer camp and I literally bawled my eyes out. It was awful

When we were in middle school everyone was like I can't wait until I am like 20 and I was like I wanna be 10 years old again and I wanna stay a kid. And they were all like umm no that's dumb. Well, now they're saying that and I'm like TOLD
YOU SO.

the teaser trailer for how to train your dragon 2 came out and I am excited

It looks so good

I feel like I should admire John Green for being able to reach such commercial and critical success despite using the same basic formula in most of his books (still waiting on one from the library, but I've read 3 out of 4 of them) but that's what made me greatly dislike Sarah Dessen soooo...

doesn't John Green use the Manic Pixie Dream Girl trope in all of his books

Manic-depressive pixie dream girl is a more accurate description of the cases in his books. I've only found it in LFA and Paper Towns so far (probably since TFiOS is narrated by a girl) but I won't be surprised if An Abundance of Katherines includes it too.

well in The Fault in Our Stars it's like "hello I am Augustus Waters. I am attractive cancer boy who speaks in metaphors so that makes me smart. Let me ride in on my prosthetic-legged white horse and whisk you away to Amsterdam since I have not used my Cancer Wish."

which is exactly why i refuse to read any of his stuff because i hate that trope

tho at least he didn't go Walk to Remember on the cancer kids and characterize them as psuedo-saints. they were flawed, but too much of the book was beyond my suspension of disbelief.

oh so it's just gender-swapped okay

i hate when writers do that. it's okay to give the kids with cancer flaws
