The Hangout Thread of the girly girls, khaki warriors, and obvious obsessions

I just remembered one of my AP teachers said they would only write college recommendations to the first ten students that asked them, and we could only ask once it's August. AND IT WILL BE AUGUST IN AN HOUR AND A HALF.

Do I bother emailing and asking? I mean there are over 150 kids that they have taught, but do any of them actually remember the August rule? What if I do ask and I'm not one of the first ten wow how embarrassing to get a reply "sorry i can't you're not one of the first ten". But I could REALLY use a recommendation from them... but even if I did ask what do I even say in the email?

Anxiety on anxiety on anxiety

Just say that you're trying to take care of your college applications as early as possible, and if they're able to write a recommendation, you would greatly appreciate it. If not, you understand.

Something that clearly states what you need, but not overly demanding. And saying you're trying to take care of things early on looks good on you for being proactive/dodges having to acknowledge the August rule.

Best of luck! :goodvibes

I would definitely email. It would be worth it to get a recommendation from them. Just let them know that you would appreciate a recommendation from them if at all possible. But if they are unable to give one that you understand.

Thanks so much for the advice guys! I'm going to write the email right now

Do I need to put any information in the email? Or just simply ask if you would be able to write me a recommendation first, and when/if he replies that he can, give him any information he would need?

Basically I'm stuck at

I would greatly appreciate it if you would be able to write me a college recommendation letter

I would just give your name, what class you were in, and what you need the letter for. I would wait for a response if any more information is needed.

I got an e-mail from half.com that my books shipped, but then an e-mail from the dealer I ordered from but that e-mail said that only one book shipped

ugh

my mom agreed to buy my books so now i need to get them all together on half.com/amazon so she can order them

Alright, thanks! Keeping it short, simple, and to the point. And hopefully he'll reply back and say yes and ask for the information.

Omg I got back a little while ago from a 15 inning walk off red sox win I'm still screaming

I have four days at home. Within those days I have to have a best friend day, work two days, and go to a wedding.

just got an email from half.com that my order has been canceled and refunded SIGH

now i am considering ordering something else to ~make up~ for the half.com kerfuffle

course, it's not really ~ordering~ something it's more "donate money to charity, receive gift of your choice as a thank you"

when it's put that way i should definitely do it
