I keep seeing it mentioned that the Gurgling Suitcase is one of the pluses of staying at OKW. We leave for OKW on Saturday. What is it that makes this place special? Do they serve food? What should we order to drink besides the obvious margarita.

I'm partial to the Turtle Krawl. It's vaguely-tropical-and-fruity, but it's tasty and a pretty healthy pour.

My usual, a Pina Colada by the pool, the place is small and on some nights can get a bit too crowded!

I don't drink anything stronger than pop. Of course pop will drink just about anything. :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

I just love those old jokes!!

It's a nice respite after a long day at the parks, or anytime.

Pre-dinner happy hour on vacation is for us what Mickey Bars or character buffets are for other people. It is a Disney must do! Do I sound like a lush? Just keeping it real. :hippie: haha.

I just did a little research, and it looks like you can get sandwiches and stuff at Goods to Go, so I'm envisioning an icy margarita or cold beer followed by a sandwich and fries to go and a movie rental for the villa.

I think the days of to-go food from Olivias at the Suitcase are behind us. You *can* grab something at Goods next door, but, well...

Afternoon Cocktails by the pool (Pina Colada's & Daquiri's.)

Of course the night caps on the porch / balcony is a guarantee as well.

That bad?
If you are at the main pool, and are suddenly overcome by debilitating hunger, you can get something at Goods. But it's not worth much more than that. People often point out the lack of CS options at BWV and BCV, but OKW isn't much better.

Although it is not on the list of restaurants and lounges for the TIW card it does work there also. Love the Turtle Krawl. Last trip we got a drink and people watched while we waited for the ferry to show up.

Give me a sultry seahorse please. Or if one bartender's there (I'm so sorry I forgot his name), he makes a delicious fudge mudslide. What I love is that kind of like a mini-Cheers-everyone knows your name, or at least talks to you like they do. I remember one year, we hadn't been in there for more than about 30 seconds when a man started on a tirade about the D***m pool slide to everyone in the place. And on one trip, there was a woman who seemed to spend the entire week in there. She wasn't drunk (maybe she was sipping soft drinks), but she told people about how they'd rented a Grand Villa, had a BIG family gathering, and she needed some quiet. It's just such a friendly little place.

Okay, the woman hiding from her family gathering in the bar just made me lol. I can hear it now. "Hey! Where's Aunt Suzie now!? We want to play Pictionary!" :rotfl:

Oh. That bad? ;)

Yeah, that bad. The hot dog was so bad even the nine-year-old wouldn't eat it. The burger was kind of grayish. Buns on both appeared to be constructed entirely of sawdust. Onion rings were fried in old grease. The only good thing was a melon side made with (I think) lime and mint.

When we were there in march it was one of my favorite parts of our trip. The turtle krawl is amazing and they served us food from the olivia's menu. TIW worked there which was great. It was a nice spot to relax while waiting for the boat to DTD. I believe the bartender was Roberto, and he was awesome. I tipped him better than I tip my face bartender here, and trust me, that says a lot. :littleangel:

Small resort bar. May have sentimental value to some, Probably original OKW owners. Seemed about the same as any other resort bar to me.

Goods to Go has been consistently inconsistent. One visit the food is exceptional. The next visit it seems like 4 day old leftovers that have been microwaved.
