Hi! We'll be at POP 9/24 - 10/1. I was thinking about bringing a tension rod and curtain so I can curtain off the sink area for a dressing area (like at CBR). Would someone going between now and then please bring me an estimate of the size of that opening???? If it's < 84 in. I'm in business. My girls are all shy and slow and I think it would really help us to have the extra privacy! Thanks ahead and I'll surely owe you one!

What a great ideal! I'll have to remember that on my next trip.

That is the best idea I have heard since the over the door shoe thingy! I hope someone will post the measurements and this old chick will be heading to wal-mart for the rod and curtain! THANKS :wave2:

You can buy an over the door shoe holder at the dollar store. I hang mine on the front of the bathroom door and put hairbrushes, deoderant, etc... in the pockets to organize the sink area. Really works neat!

I used one of those over the door shoe racks... the ones with the little plastic compertments and hung it over the bathroom door! It was a true space saver and I read it here on the DIS boards! :cheer2: I used it on our last trip and Grumpy(my DH) thought it was the greatest... now when I pull out the rod and curtain he will be in such awe ;)

Hey! The shoe rack's a great idea! We'll have 2 rooms - girls' and boys'. As my boys wrestle on the floor behind me I'm thinking all we need for the boys' room is padded everything and a sound-proof room. I'm thankful for my boys but sometimes.....

:flower: Hi to all that have stayed at POP and to those that haven't and are considering it,
We stayed there last year,2004,and loved every moment there. We stayed in the 50's section, and it was perfect! Our room was on the top floor,(I requested it for quietness),and it faced the fartherest legendary bldg, and a view of spaceship earth at Epcot. We could see the Illuminations fireworks from our floor at night! We have stayed at all three allstar resorts, three times at allstar music and last year at POP.This place is great for those who don't want or need the extra frills from the moderate and deluxe resorts. The food court is great, with a big variety of foods to pick from.Prices are not bad either.
If anyone is considering this resort, you won't be disappointed. However, this year,2005,Oct,we will be staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort.Something different and something new.Have a great stay at Disney!!!!! :cool1:

I'm not sure that will work at Pop... both times our bathroom had a "pocket" door, meaning that it slid into the wall, so the shoe rack wouldnt be able to hang there, but it would hang on the clothes pole in the closet. I'm not sure if all of the bathrooms have that kind of door because both times we requested a King Bed room and have gotten a handicapped accessible room. What a great idea, especially if there are alot of people in your room. It keeps the counter clear and keeps everything organized and easy to find.

Regular rooms have regular doors on the bathroom. But the closet bar would work also -- closer to the sink.

Pop is all booked on Sept 30, to bad for me- I was going to add that night :(

We just got back (9-3 to 9-12) and stayed in room 1448 which is the top floor of the 50's. I didn't think the walk to the bus stops were bad at all. It was pretty quiet as far as neighbors go and only a couple of times did I hear kids running up and down the hall yelling. I could hear the toilets and showers but it wasn't bad, nothing that would have kept me awake. The beds were not too bad for a value either. My biggest problem was the A/C. We had it set for 69 degrees and it never got below 76, we were sweating when we woke up. The pool was fine (until we saw a little one running to their room with diaherra running out of her swim diaper, then we jumped out fast LOL!). Everything Pop was adequate but I would have liked more choices for lunch but we only ate there twice so it was OK. All in all I would stay there again because the price was definitely right but if the moderates had a deal I would go for POFQ over POP. ::MickeyMo

The King Rooms with the tub have the regular type doors and a shoe rack would work over them..However, one thing no one has mentioned is that the the bathroom doors have full length mirrors on them, which is a big help. With only one mirror over the one sink it is hard for two people to use it at the same time. While DH was shaving I had a mirror to do my hair with, also the hair dryer is right near the bathroom door and that mirror which worked out well too.

Another thing no one has mentioned is over the sink is a small shelf that will hold tooth brushes or paste, or small bottles such as aftershave or deoderants. This came in handy as vanity space is limited at POP.

We found POP to have ample storage space with a big rack and hanging area for clothes, and ample space underneath to store luggage.

Any questions on POP I will be glad to answer, we just got back on September 12th and loved it!!!

Please forgive me if this has been asked before. I have been reading this thread for quite sometime, but can't find an answer. :confused3
Is there some place I can purchase a loaf of bread? We won't have a rental car. I was planning on bringing peanut butter and jelly, but the bread will get squished for sure! :goodvibes It has been sometime since we have stayed on property, and we are sooooo excited! Thanks a Bunch!

If I remember correctly you can get a loaf of bread at the Food Court. Probably very pricey compared to anything off site but there still.
(I'm sure someone else will be along soon to verify this!)

I know for sure that you can purchase 2 slices of bread and it wasn't too pricey (under $1), but I don't remember seeing whole loaves of bread, but I wasn't looking for them. They have tie-dyed bread for the slices and I'm not sure about just plain white.

How late is the food court open at Pop Century? I'm assuming there's no room service that's available. Don't know why, but DH & I always tend to get the munchies after we get back from a day at the parks or Downtown Disney. So, if the food court isn't going to be open when we get back from the parks, I'll have to remember to get some snacks before leaving the park! Thanks! My Sweet-tooth really appreciates the answer to this question! :teeth:
