Tosie- Was it a "regular-sized" (e.g. can hold soda, etc also) or was it a "med-sized" fridge? I've heard recent differing reports.

It was the size of what you would find in a dorm. We had a half gallon of milk, about 4 bottles water, the medicine (which took up little room) plus a couple small boxes. It's small but spacious.

I just found out that my nephew will be having his tonsils taken out right before we go to Disney. He will be on an antibiotic for 10 days after his tonsils are out. Almost all of his antibiotics that he has been on have to be refrigerated.

Okay- good news and bad news

Good news first- We had a fridge last year for meds and it was the standard mini fridge- could hold a gallon of milk and a few more things but not a ton.

Bad news- I don't know how old your nephew is but I wouldn't want to go with a child who'd just had their tonsils out. My son had his out on May 19 and he is still not back to normal. He was put on 2+ weeks of "mushy diet"- no breads, crackers, anything remotely hard. Also no citrus or anything that might sting. The kid has been living on milkshakes and the occasional pudding. He could also have pasta (not al dente, fully cooked), mashed potatoes and basically anything else really really soft. My son is 23 months and super picky so we're a bit more limited than you may be but I just wanted to put that warning out there. Also he really didn't feel good for a while, he is just starting to get back on track and not want to sleep all day. The pain meds help him feel better but make him tired too. We also ended up with him back in the hospital about 4 days after surgery since he wasn't eating or drinking enough and needed to stay in to be rehydrated. Trust me I am the last one to want to rain on a Disney vacation but I just wanted to put that out there to have you realize what might be involved. Please ask if you have more ??s

Oh Wow! I am super excited to be staying at Pop this coming September! It will be my first time at that resort, and I can't wait! A few q's...does the Shampoo come in the Mickey Bottles...and the Mickey soaps? Or do they still have the shower dispensers? DBF and I stayed at ASMo almost two years ago, and they had the shower dispensers. What about the refrigerators? I have heard these come in the rooms, and then I heard you must pay? Anyone know?

Yes, Mickey soaps and shampoos just like the other resorts. Isn't it wonderful!!! And you can get a fridge but you will pay about $10-12 per day for it. The moderates/deluxes have them in the rooms free of charge but not the values.

We were there last September and love POP like so many here do..however we never got to ask if they have Egg Beaters or any egg substitute in the Food Court?? DH cannot eat a lot of eggs and often orders the substitute when we go out for breakfast....Any info would be appreciated??

They do honor requests for special diets. I would call there and talk with somebody who can pass the request to the manager of the food court. They may ask for your phone number and call you back. You will probably need to give your vacation dates. I would make sure you call ahead, though.

Thank you so much....

This will be our first visit to POP, we're soo excited but have some questions and need your expert knowledge ;)

We're on the free DP deal and preferred room is included, (60's) but we're wanting to stay in the 50's building, on the side close to Classic Hall.

1. Any 3rd floor rooms in 50's building "close to Classic Hall" that you recommend?
2. Elevators or not?
3. Bus stop is only in front of Classic Hall, correct? (tried to check out a POP-map but couldn't get it big enough to really see LOL)
4. Our flight gets in 11:30am-ish, we know about check-in times, but has any of you arrived there early and been able to check in early and will this improve on our "wish" of a certain room/floor/building, just by being early?

5. Any pro/cons with the preferred 60's and why shouldn't we just "stay put"?

Sorry about bombarding you with this but I try to read all the threads and it's so confusing to me, especially the map over the room layout ;) We know we might not get a particular room # but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks a bunch! :goodvibes

Yes there is only one bus stop at POP!! Have fun!!! We've checked in early every time and have almost always had a room ready for us!!

I would try to get into bldg 1 in 50's. It's the closest bldg to Classic Hall. I wouldn't ask for a particular room though..just third floor, close to Classic Hall.

2. Elevators or not? Yes, there are two elevators in the center of each bldg.

3. Bus stop is only in front of Classic Hall, correct? (tried to check out a POP-map but couldn't get it big enough to really see LOL) Yes, the one stop.

I have always been able to get into my room upon arrival at POP. If you are using DME to get there, they will alert POP that you are 'on your way' and your room will be put aside for you. It should take you about 70 minutes to get to checkin at the resort from MCO.

5. Any pro/cons with the preferred 60's and why shouldn't we just "stay put"?
The 60's bldgs are okay. I prefer the 50's section though. I have heard that some of the rooms in 50's and 70's are being considered 'preferred' and that some of the rooms in 60's are being considered standard. It's all about personal preferance.

Don't worry about too many questions...it's no problem. Also, I don't think you need to worry too much about where you end up at POP. I decided to just take my chances a few weeks ago. I asked for a room facing the lake, higher up. I got the 80's section, bldg 7 if I remember correctly. On the backside, ground level. I did face the lake though!! I thought it was going to be horrendous being that far away from everything. But, to my surprise, it was really quite nice. WE loved it there!!!

I'm wondering what the earliest someone has checked in at POP before? Every time I've been, the rooms are never ready! And, we're thinking of leaving super-early during our Oct. trip, and I wonder if they would let us check in before noon?

On November 6th, 2004---our family checked in, put our luggage in the room and headed off to Downtown Disney by 10:30am. :cool1: Good luck to you. :thumbsup2

Thank you for your answers! I'm relieved now LOL, I did call to change our preferred room to standard and the CM told me the "pre-check" in starts at 7am, I had no clue. Our flights have arrived in PM past trips so we always checked in at "normal time".

I'd love to go and just get whatever room they assign us if it wasn't for the previous trips "whining" over sore and tired feet "who's going to fill the mugs"-issue from mostly my DH and DD but also by me ;)

I just think it would be a total adventure not knowing where you'd end up, and in the end, how much time do we spend in our rooms during our stays anyways? :sunny:

We are too excited for our own good, our original trip was booked for Dec 1- 8 at CSR, but this deal and not having to wait for another 6 months to go was our decision to change dates.

On another note, we will regret the change later when the holiday gets closer haha, never been at WDW in Dec before...oh well, WDW here we come!! :cool1:

On September 4, 2005 which was sunday of Labor Day Weekend last year DH and I checked into Pop around 10am, got our room right away which was a King Room by request. This was middle of a holiday weekend with the first free dining program they had. You should have no trouble at all getting a room right away if you do not have real specific requests for special rooms or buildings. We had no building requests just the king room....good luck with it.. :sunny:
