That is my fear. The first time at POP we were there by noon and checked in and got our requests. This year we won't arrive until around 5 p.m. and I am worried our requests won't be honored. Anyone have any experience at POP getting them honored later??

We went in September of 2004 which is not a very busy time of year and arrived around 5:00-6:00pm. We had requested a non-smoking, King room on the top floor. We got the non-smoking and the top floor, but not the King room. We did a one night room only and then had to re-check in for our package the next day. They said if we wanted to try again the next day there might be a better chance because it would be a Saturday and a lot of people would be checking out, but we didn't feel like moving all our stuff once we were settled. If you don't mind moving after your first night, they can usually honor it (if it's not too busy) since you would be one of the first on the request list for the next day having been there the previous night.

Does anyone know how many rooms POP has with a single king size bed instead of the 2 double? Also, are they located in a specific building(s)? I have requested one of these rooms, but again they told me there is no guarantee. Do they usually honor the requests for these rooms? :earsgirl:

Check out this and other helpful things in the links in my sig.

We didn't have a problem getting a refrigerator for my medicine. Dumb me didn't think about the fact that it would be WARM when it arrived. :rolleyes1 Next time I will bring along 3 or 4 ice packs in my travel cooler. At $250 an injection, I can't afford for even one to go bad. ;)

We did have a problem getting a Sharps container! That really surprised me because you would think housekeeping wouldn't want to run any risks. We had to call several times over 2 days to get one. CRO and the Front Desk had assured me that they had plenty of containers readily available. DH was freaking out about someone finding it (even capped) so we just put the used ones back into my travel cooler.

Where will I be able to put my infants pack and play?

We are staying in 2 rooms. WISHING one for the 13 yo, 9 yo and 17 months and one for the adults. Am having nightmares :) of it being the 13 yo, 9yo and DH and I in one room while baby gets whole room to herself uggg!!!! so if I can put the pack in play with her in it at night to sleep, I'm hoping the boys can stay with her and I can get some snuggle time with DH!!

Where have you put the baby in the pack in play to sleep?

In a standard POP room there is not a whole lot of room for a pack and play but you could scoot the table over and put it there or near the window would be the other place I could think of. Warn them to make sure the bathroom door is shut all the time once she is asleep, it seems to help cut down on the amount of 'power flushing' you hear from other rooms.

We haven't used the pack n play in a POP room, but I would think there is plenty of room either by the window, or you could move the small table under the window, and place the pack n play in its spot along the same wall as the tv.

You might even be able to fit one in between the 2 beds. The kids would still have the other side to get to each of their beds. :)

We've stayed at POP 3 times now & just LOVE it!! :teeth:

Every time we've stayed 4th floor in the 50's section facing the lake. We really love this location, but would like to request a different building for our upcoming trip to mix it up a bit. ;)

I think I would still enjoy a room facing the lake - has anyone stayed in the 70's or 80's with a lake facing room? Looking at the map, it seems like this is possible, but I'm not sure. I see that the 60's also has some - but we don't want to pay the "preferred" rate.

Any other great locations that I should consider - we'd prefer a top floor & something on the quiet side, but not too far to walk to refill our mugs throughout the day!

Also - I just noticed in some pics that you can see the freeway from some of the 80's/90's rooms - has anyone experienced any noise from this?

We had absolutely no problem putting the pack and play in our room at POP. Plenty of space (w/ room to spare) to the left of the t.v. to the wall. No problem at all!

buses...we had a couple 15 minute waits, and a couple standing room only bus rides; we also had several 5 minute waits or a second bus right behind the first bus [yipee!].

It was a little hike to classic hall and bus stops from our room [50's B] but it was not bad at all.

Food was good. Souvenir mug is nice...I had coffee every am, kids had slushies in the pm a couple times, and dh was able to get some soda in the evening.

Rooms could have been cleaner but they were just fine.

Connecting worked out well and I am glad we got 1st floor...very nice.

I would stay there again.

We got a fridge in May at no charge and we didn't have to show anything to anyone. They just brought it to our room and left. I asked the CM on the phone when asking for the fridge and she said nobody would ask to see anything that (her words) "would just be rude". and they didn't ask so maybe she knew what she was talking about.

Has anyone else had to show anything?
we got a fridge in dec when there no one asked to see anything at all
they were great about it

Just joined the board - will be at Pop in 1 week. Can't wait. What an awesome thread. Of course it took me several days to get through it - but thank you so much to everyone that posted. WOW! This is our first family trip to WDW. :cool1: My DH (ok it too me awhile to get that & yes I am blonde) & I went to WDW on our honeymoon but stayed off site. So I think we're going to stay in the 50's Tramp Building second floor facing the pool. The only thing we have asked for so far is non-smoking - do you think I should call or fax this request or take my chances? My second choice woudl be 70's. We are getting in early on the Wednesday. Shocked they do not provide coffee makers. The refill WDW cup - what can you put in it. And what's a frozen coke. Sorry for all the questions but I am so GREEN...excited though! :earsboy:

We stayed in the 80s building 7 on the 2nd floor and we could see the lake when we walked out the door to the right. Also we could see the Welcome to WDW sign from our room but we never heard any traffic other than the kids that ran past our door lol.

If you are going to be there in 1 week, I would not fax the resort. I have read that the resorts no longer respond to faxes. If you are going to call, make it tomorrow because I believe the resorts get your reservation 3-4 days in advance. Remember, there are no guarentees though. :) You can always ask when you are checking in!

The refillable resort mug can only be used at POP (since that is where you are staying) and you can get anything from the beverage stations which includes soda, lemonade, coffe, hot chocolate, tea, and frozen cokes (think a slurpee). Milk is not included, nor is orange juice.

Maybe this picture will help with the frozen coke...

Have a blast and enjoy POP!!!!!!! :)

thanks for the advice guys. Oops made a mistake - our second choice is the 80's building. I think I'll wait & take our chances with the room. Do you think it will be busy this time of year? Anyone been to wdw in January? Is the weather hit & miss. I live in Canada so anything is better then here! :rotfl2:

I have not seen a picture of sink area, is there a curtain like at POFQ?
It helps during the morning/evening rush.

Thanks!
Lisa
