I read somewhere that there is something you can do to the thermostat. Just can't remember, sorry. But a quick fix is to buy a balloon and allow it to bouce around so the sensor thinks someone is in the room and it will be cooler when you return. In other words it won't shut off as much.

Blessings,
Winnie

Yes the yare still on sensors. We did the ballon, but sometimes the room stays pretty cool. But I could tell at night that the ballon really helped, compared to the previous year with no balloon. We like it could and the temp wouldn't go low enough for us at night.

You can override jsut about every resort but Pop's AC. So far no has figured it out and remembered what they did. It is different than the other resorts. But you can call maintenance and ask and some will overide it for you, but I think it goe back after 24 hours.

We didn't have any problem with the A/C turning off while we were gone, or at night. In fact, the mousekeeper would always make it colder while we were gone, and it would be icy when we got back from the parks.
Maybe it varies from room to room. :confused3

I want to thank everyone on this thread for all the great information! I'm about 100 pages back, but trying to catch up. Hopefully before my trip to Pop in September! It will be my first time staying here and I'm really looking forward to it!

For those of you who mail packages to the resort.... I'm sending one for the first time and I'm wondering if I'm mailing it soon enough.

I'll arrive Sat Aug 9. If I mail it on Monday Aug 4th from Dallas, that should be enough time right?

I am so excited I can't stand it!! I'm already not sleeping. It's going to be a long 9 days! :lmao:

So who here will be at Pop between Aug 9 and 23? We've requested the 50's and my daughter has big plans for the windows!! So be on the look out!!

I would suggest you check with USPS so you feel comfortable, assuming that is how you plan to mail it. :) Use this USPS calculator. Make sure you select the appropriate packaging and date you plan to mail. The results will not only show you how much it will cost, but also tell you how many days it will take from point A to point B.

Have a groovy time!! :hippie:

Excellent idea. Also, I would suggest having it arrive 2-3 days before you leave. That way if something goes wrong (it won't) you can deal with it before leaving.

HI all,

we will be arriving at POP on Labor day. I will be using a ECV, due to a recent knee operation any one suggest where to stay and if the elevators are big enough or should i request a bottom floor... thanks:cheer2:

If its a very large ECV then try to request a handicap designated room. Those are all on the first level. If none are available then request a first floor room. It would be wise to phone ahead for this.

i am just getting one of the ones you rent down there... do they have handicap rooms that have 2 beds? i was figuring on calling tonight nd then faxing in 2 weeks.

I believe the HC rooms at POP have one King size bed. But here is the number to call POP directly and check with them.
407 938-4000

Good luck. Enjoy your stay!

I believe some of the rooms do have two beds. Check out the maps in post#1.

We were thinking about changing our reservation to request a king bed. We are traveling with 2 boys, a 4 year old and an almost 2 year old, who will be staying in a pack and play. When I called to make the request, I was told that since there are 4 of us, we can't stay in a king room. We'd just have DS 4 sleep with us and DS 2 sleep in the pack in play. Has anyone been able to get a king room with this scenereo?

I too was told no king bed with more than 2 people in the room in the past as well. I asked the same thing because DS was young at time. I was told no exceptions.

For the person sending a package. Do not send it through USPS because they have a central delivery center at Disney and be sorted from there vs UPS or the others will deliver directly to the resort. HTH

Unfortunately, they won't allow this. Even though it makes perfect sense, it is something about fire code and number of people vs. number of beds in the room. Sorry! :upsidedow

Disney only allows 2 people and one child under 3 to be in a king size room. I think they are the only ones who do this. I look up rooms for other destitnations all the time and for 3 people (with out knowing my childs age) they always give us a king as an option. Now DD is only 3, so it would work if needed, but what if she was 12. Who wants 3 big peoeple in a bed? I personally have had to have DD sleep in a king with us a month ago while we were away, as it was the only option. It wasn;t bad, but nothing I would CHOSE to do again.

Hi,

I'm planning a trip for January and will probably be staying at the POP. I was wondering how successful people have been with room requests? I'm going to ask for a room between 2450-2460 as I believe these offer a view of some of Epcot's fireworks.

What are the chances of them honouring my request?

Sorry if this has already been asked, this is a massive thread and far too big to read all of it (though I'm trying!)
