Advice please? I wouldn't normally request a room, we always just "go with the flow" but we've been assigned the 70's the last two trips and I really don't want to be in those buildings again.
On our first trip the CM asked and we said 80's but this time I'm thinking I'd like to try 50's since we've never even seen the bowling pin pool in person. If we liked the 80's are the 50's comparable?
BTW, we are in a standard room because the 2/3 rooms we've had were standard and we liked them
best. (;

I can't say how the 50's compare to the 80's, but I can recommend the 50's buildings. I have stayed there twice and I requested building 1 again for next week's trip -- hope I get it.

The buildings are convenient to Classic Hall, the Bowling pool is nice and it's great for a quick dip, and I find building 1 in particular close to the bus area by ducking around the front near the luggage office.

And for what's worth, the 50's buildings room were the last to be renovated last year, so conceivably they are the "newest."

A previous poster mentioned having a late check-out. This is new to me. Is this requested at time of check-in? And is there an extra charge?

We're staying at POP for 2 nights before we check-in to the Vistana Resorts (off-site) on the Sunday. Vistana check-in is 4pm.

We are hoping to hang out at POP anyway until lunch time, prior to heading on over to our next location; would a late check-out be worth it if there is a charge or is it okay to just hang out at the resort?

We're staying at POP for 2 nights before we check-in to the Vistana Resorts (off-site) on the Sunday. Vistana check-in is 4pm.

We are hoping to hang out at POP anyway until lunch time, prior to heading on over to our next location; would a late check-out be worth it if there is a charge or is it okay to just hang out at the resort?

Check out is 11am. Late check out if granted is 1pm with no charge. I do believe they do something to 3pm with charge and anything after that is considered another night.

you can check out at 11am and still use the resort amenties til midnight of your check out day.

Even though I provided a credit card at check in I discovered at MK this morning that they didn't give me charging privledges.. I was going to let it slide until we just got back to the room to discover my key doesn't work (ds16's does). While convenient to the parking lot it's NOT that convenient to the front desk... Ugh!

Any questions while I'm here?

Here's hoping your day got better! How are the crowds? Just checked in on mousewaits and the wait times are attrocious right now.

We hit MK @opening.. We were able to ride BTMR, Pirates, jungle cruise, space mountain & Haunted Mansion, ate at Pecos & got out around 12:15 when the crowds started getting bad.. splash mountain was closed while we were there

Got to epcot around 4:30, able to ride TT (single rider), Sum of all Thrills, Mission Space & spaceship earth with virtually no waits.

Hot but not unbearable (but then again I love Mexico on August!) one 10 minute downpour around 1:00.

My prediction is yes, it will be. The tree was up during my pre-Thanksgiving week trip in 2008:

Maybe, but maybe not. We were talking to a resort manager last November and learned that at MK resorts, decorations usually begin going up the Wednesday before the weekend before Thanksgiving - all decorations will be up by Thanksgiving, but a delay could mean you might not see any until the end of your trip. Don't expect everything to be up when you arrive, but hopefully will be before you leave. MK resorts get done first, then EPCOT Resorts and the rest on a general time table.

MK will be decorated because the MVMCP is going, but other parks may have only some decorations up.

Thanks for the info. We are morning people too and tend to leave before the afternoon rush. Hopefully, the crowds will die down some over the next week.

I hope they get splash mountain up and running, it's one of the main reasons I go. I also hope the pop jet fountain park is working when we get there.
