Um Yeah. We upgraded Tuesday and Wednesday night he is told he needed to take some furlough days not paid. :scared1: Which in the summer it usually happens but it usually is May or June never July. So we thought we were all set. Not.

His boss is nice and tells him the night before instead of giving him some notice. The entire reason we upgraded was beacause we were going to use the pool more since I know it is going to be super warm.. So we are back at pop with the QSDP and we just added the WP and more option.

So I cancled all our adr's but Garden Grill dinner and T-rex we will pay OP for those. We used the QSDP last year and actually prefer it so I wasn't so sad to cancle the adrs. I did have to pay the 50.00 change fee which was fine. I would rather take money out of savings for things needed not vacation.

Ok my soap dish is done for the evening.

Well that stinks!

Don't blame you about the QSDP either though.. I'm not one for all the TS & preplanning it involves.. I'm more of a commando vacationer!

If my family stays for Illuminations at Epcot, what time do you estimate we will be back at POP if the show starts at 9 pm? What's the best plan to get out of there quick? Thanks!

(I'm thinking we might skip Illuminations at Epcot and try to view them from POP. I worry about my girls getting enough sleep. We will see Wishes and Fantasmic. Thoughts?)

How busy is the laundry areas at Pop, is there a better time of day, I was hoping to throw a load or two in while DH and DD play in the pool :) Thanks!

We are at 51 days today and I'm starting to pack :rotfl2:

I usually use them in the mornings as well. I tried once in the vening and it was packed.

Just got off the phone with a Disney reservation rep and he said the entire 60's building is preferred? Hmmm... I thought just part of the 60's building was preferred.

This is our first stay at a value.....I am excited about staying at Pop. I worry about the noise level; should I be that concerned?

He's wrong

I tried to explain :confused3 I will try another rep.

Also, just called the POP # directly and asked the same question about 60's being preferred and she couldn't answer that. When you call the POP # shouldn't that person know?

I think even though it says it's the direct # for POP, it actually still goes to a call center.

The noise level at any hotel will be based on your expectations. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing, "kids should be seen and not heard" atmosphere, you are probably at the wrong hotel. We've stayed on the first floor near the pool and never been bothered by any noise. I'm not saying there wasn't any noise, just that it didn't bother us.

Honestly - I would NOT miss Illuminations. Seeing it from Pop means seeing the top of the fireworks. No music, no globe, no water. Stay for it. Then sit on a bench and wait for the crowds to clear out. Then slowly make your way out of Epcot. We did this last year - one of the last families to exit the park. Your kids will be fine. If you are that worried about it....let them sleep in a bit the next morning.

But, if your kids are like my kids...they will crash when they get back and then be up and raring to go bright and early the next morning.

But, IMO, Illuminations should NOT be missed...and it needs to be seen IN PARK :)

The noise doesn't bother me, but I was informed that one of the members in our party was a "lite sleeper". So I was just curious.

Another question???? Can anyone tell me if Disney will have their fall decorations up by August 28? I love the fall decorations. We normally go in the fall...but this time we needed to go in August and we will not return until mid November.

If you don't mind paying for a cab, you could leave through the International Gateway and walk to the beach club to get one. It would cost about $15, plus tip. You would probably be back by 9:45.

Other than that, the only way to leave the park is to walk out like everyone else. You would probably be back at Pop around 10:00ish - maybe 10:30 if it's really crowded.

You can't see IllumiNations from Pop. Most of the show takes place on the lake and isn't visible from anywhere outside the park. You can see a few of the higher fireworks from Pop, but it is nothing like seeing the actual show. I would put IllumiNations at a higher priority than Fantasmic, especially with small kids.

Kelly - That stinks that he didn't get any notice. :sad2: You will still have a fabulous time - and with the heat, you probably won't miss all the TS meals. More time to be at the water parks! We have never been to them before..can't wait to hear about them! :)

Be sure to request a room NOT facing the pool. We had one in May..fortunately my kids and DH are not light sleepers so they were not bothered...I, however, was up many nights until after midnight listening to people *frolicking*:rolleyes1 in the pool.

Does the Pop get a lot of tour groups staying at it?

I have never seen any in our 4 stays, but I would imagine that they do get them.

I got Mickey mail today. At least one of the 3. I got ME tags for our room only night before our package starts. :)

Droping my older dd off at her granparents tonight they are leaving tommorow for 2 weeks of disney starting with the disney dream for 5 nights. I'm sure she will have fun.

I did laundry today around noon. The checkerouters were done. I was a bit miffed though when I saw they had 6 washers and 3 were down for maintenance. Luckily, I snagged one. I had to run the dryer cycle 2 X . So one load of laundry cost me $7.
