I check in on the 31st of Aug for 7 days. First time being at Disney without my parents and first time staying at the Pop!

I liekd the alfredo dish too. I have also had it with Marinera instead before as well. Both are good. I love the tiedie cheesecake, but hate the red velvet cake crust, so I just eat the cheesecake part and through the "crust" away.
The worst thing I had there was the Nachoes supreme. They were super nasty. I have heard of others loving it though, so I might've gotten a bad batch or maybe they have changed since I got them.

My DH loved that sandwich as well.

My DH and I really loved the salmon dinner, and I especially love the grilled fish sandwich with cole slaw. I always ask for extra slaw on the side. Yum! My DD9 especially loves the Pop waffle for breakfast. I usually don't get a hot breakfast there. I usually bring my own Kashi Go Lean cereal from home (in Tupperware), and get a cup of coffee. If its going to be a big day or I'm extra hungry, I'll grab a danish from the Grab n Go area.:woohoo:

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Mom's night out meals! They are tasty and a great value! I've actually split this meal with my daughter. My daughter likes the Chicken Penne Alfredo. The Parmesan Chicken is also a treat! Also, the Key West omelet for breakfast was good! :)

I looked at wdwinfo and the only thing they show for mom's night out is:
Mom's Night Out Specials - Sunday & Monday - Buttermilk Fried Chicken, Tuesday & Wednesday - Roast Turkey, Thursday & Friday - BBQ Pork, and Saturday - Buttermilk Fried Chicken. - $9.59

and it is showing to be updated 6/11.

i really enjoy the mom's night out and the fried chicken and the meatloaf are both delicious! I have never tried the turky and I think the BBQ pork is new.

Hey all! Totally new to Disneyworld! DH and I have been talking recently about maybe taking the kids to visit WDW next August! :cool1: So I started playing around with reservations...And for $118, is a preferred room THAT much closer than a standard? Would we melt walking to the main building if we booked standard in August? If we booked standard and requested "closest to classic hall", would we maybe get a preferred, or just the closest standard? I know, requests aren't always honored. However, I still wouldn't want to pay $118 just to be a few yards closer...Any advice for a newbie? What would you do? Thanks so much in advance! :thumbsup2

For me personally, after looking at the maps in posts #1 of this thread and distances that one of the members figured, it isn't worth spending the extra money. That is just my personal opinion and I know not everyone else will agree. I am just happy to be on vacation and don't really care where I am as long as it isn't by a loud pool! I like as much quiet as possible.

taken from page 1:
Standard vs. Preferred
Preferred Rooms
"Preferred" refer to the location of the room on the property and nothing more; they do not refer to views, size, or amenities
these are rooms in buildings closest to Classic Hall (500 ft or less)
preferred rooms are not necessarily THAT much closer the bus stop; see "Property Info" section in this post and/or a wonderful posting from DISer Simba77 that maps out the distance from the center of the bus stop area to the center of each era
'60s = 840 feet
'80s = 945 feet
'90s = 945 feet
'70s = 950 feet
'50s = 980 feet
typically $10-$15/night more than a standard room

I think the shortest to longest walk time from the bus ranges from 5-9 minutes. Don't quote me on that but again for me personally, I would rather save the money and have an extra glass of wine at dinner.

We are staying at Pop for the first time this August. I'm so excited and this thread makes me happy! :) :) :)

Wow! Thank you! SO helpful! Can't believe I missed that! :goodvibes

We'll be there, at least a couple days later. We check in the 29th for 11 days.:banana:

I can't wait. :cool1: We just started organizing this weekend to see what we had and what we needed to get. Got the list started.

I started a list also. I have been crossing stuff off as I get it and adding more. :)

Does anyone know the price of the cactures they do in the lobby or where I can find a price list? I'm not even sure I spelled that one right. LOL The girls are getting hairwraps for sure. I have always wanted to have this done so it seems like this year would be a good time to do it.

You are most welcome!!:goodvibes Good luck with your planning!

It took me awhile to go through all the info about the hotel in this thread. I spent a good few hours one afternoon reading all the info and looking at the maps. Based on all the info I got on the thread, I figured out exactly which room dbf would want. Now I honestly doubt and have no actual expectations that we will get this room, but you can hope right!! ;)

End of August "POPpers" I really look forward to POPping into ya'll!!!:lmao:

So, if you see a cooky gal w/a a black backpack purse w/stuffed animals hanging off of it it may be me on 8-20 thru 30th I would love to meet ya'll or just say "Hi" :wave2:

Anxiously awaiting our arrival at Pop on Aug 6th - this is our first trip in the summer months - can't wait!

Not sure how old the picture is but on the first page under Services (almost to the end) there is a link http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/March disney trip/disneypics449.jpg to a picture that shows the caricature stand and you can see the prices. Atleast it gives you a range of what they might be.

:banana::dance3:Checking into the Pop in 40 days! I think I am more excited about staying at Pop than I was about the Poly!:banana::dance3:

How busy is the laundry areas at Pop, is there a better time of day, I was hoping to throw a load or two in while DH and DD play in the pool :) Thanks!

We are at 51 days today and I'm starting to pack :rotfl2:

There was only 1 other person using the laundry when I was there during spring break, this was at the computer pool
