Hello Pop fans!

Well, we just booked 6 nights at Pop Century for my 6 yr old and myself for a girls getaway. We have never stayed at Pop - previously at POR and POFQ.
I have read just about every thread on this resort. Ugh! Originally one of the things that put me off was the condition of the rooms. They just looked really "worn" to me. However now I see that they had done some "sprucing up". Hopefully all will be done by HOT August!

I will be checking in occasionally....great info here!

Maybe i have to call back because i don't check into POP until April 9th(even though i am flying April 2nd),CM told me that they are only taking requests 10 days from check in :confused3.x.

Thats not correct. You can put and SHOULD put your wants in with your reservation when you make it or anytime after. Not 10 days prior. You need to call and tell them you want your requests noted on your reservation now.

Just a quick question, when doing on line check in, is there still an option to put any room requests that you may want? I remember last summer when I did on line check in there was a section that asked for any requests and I was able to put in that I wanted a first floor room.

Yes there is

On Sunday our family was surprised by DH's brother who booked and paid for his entire family a trip to Disney World! Needless to say we were :woohoo::yay::goodvibes:cool1:

So we are staying at Pop Century for 5 nights arriving on June 5! He also paid for the Dining Plan.

This thread is great, a lot of helpful tips and information. Here are my questions.

I will be 7 months pregnant and would like to keep water bottles cold in the room along with some yogurts and milk. Is pregnancy a medical need? One of the little cooler/fridge wouldn't be big enough for what I need.

MIL will be on a scooter. Will she be able to fit in the elevators? Should we request a ground floor room? Any recommendations for Scooter Rental services?

We will be a party of 16 in 5 different rooms. Will they put our rooms near each other? Or is this a special request?

Thank you for any help you can offer.

Congratulations on the trip and the baby!

Your MIL will not no problem with the elevator - HC rooms are on all floors. For the rest of your questions I would suggest posting on the DisAbilities board - they will have the most correct and up to date answers. :thumbsup2http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=20

For the rooms - be sure all the reservations are linked and ask the CM to request rooms as close together as possible. If you need an accessible room for your MIL you could also ask special needs if they could help with room locations. (I go through special needs for every trip).

Good luck and pm if I might be of any help, but am sure you will get all your questions answered on the other Board.

Happy planning! :goodvibes

I could be wrong - wouldn't be the first time and definately won't be the last:laughing: - but I didn't think there was ever a place to put in a room request when checking in online? I know for sure when we did it last August there wasn't..has it changed? :confused3

It's there online. I think too you have an option to link it to another reservation (say you want connecting rooms or to be near them).

Question!!!! My daughter drinks soy milk, we have stomach issues with other milks. Does POP sell soy? Is it available in the food court? If I have to buy a gallon, is that enough of a medical reason to get a fridge? What documentation would I need? In the end if I have to pay the fee I'm really not concerned, I just need to make sure someone sells soy. If not, my in-laws are meeting up with us and I will tell them to bring a gallon.

Hello,I have just rang them again, and spoke to a different CM-and again i have been told to phone back tomorrow as i am a day short in them accessing my reservation :confused3.Could it be because i am from the UK?..x.

We are checing in super early on Sunday 4/3. We want to make rope drop at MK, so Im gonna say like 6am check in at POP. Do you think I should do online check in or just do it in person? I imagine the counters wont be busy at such an early hour. Maybe Im wrong :confused3, first-timer :woohoo:.

I've been told the earliest you can check in is 7 AM. This will be my first trip as well so I don't know that for certain but you may want to confirm you will be able to check in at 6.

Normal Check-In is 11 like any other hotel, you can try to see if they have your room ready when you get there if not they can hold your luggage for you so you can make the rope drop. Once your room is ready they can move your luggage to your room.

In my experience with calling to add requests....
If you call the hotel directly they can only put requests on your reservations 10 days prior. Now if you call central booking, they can put requests on your reservations at ANY time.

Have a great trip everyone!!

We have reservations for our first ever extended family trip this Christmas season :santa: at POP. I am very excited!!!

However, I am also a little worried now because we just returned back from a trip to Disney and we went to MK on St. Patrick's day (open 8am-1am) and it was sooooooooooooooooo crowded. I had a touring plan so our morning went smooth but when we returned in the evening it was miserable. We finally left the wall to wall crowds at 11 PM (and there were still BOATLOADS of people coming in from the TTC)!!!!! So now I am really rethinking our dates (currently 12/15-12/21) for Christmas but I worry about pulling the kids out of school. Will the crowds be the same as Spring Break? As it is I am already pulling them out for 3 days before break. I think we may have been too spoiled with our previous trips all being the last week of April or first two weeks in May!!!:rolleyes1

For those of you who have been this time of year, what is POP like during the holidays? Specifically how are the crowds, buses, etc. AND on the bright side, what is the resort like at Christmas (eg. special decorations?).

Thanks!!!

Just got back from our first POP stay, and we loved it. Transportation was so much easier than at WL! I thought it would be terribly crowded but it didn't seem that way. Only problem we had was the weather. Anyway, glad that we are POP converts now! :)
