Well, we will have our first stay in just 73 days!! Just wondering if we will really need preferred rooms. We have already booked them but I was thinking that if I went non-preferred we could stay an extra night.:woohoo: Would you drop the preferred or stick with it?

I would take the extra night in a heartbeat.

I would drop the preferred room. The resort is so small that nothing is more than a 5 minute walk from classic hall.

Thanks Bo Peep.

I plan on paying for the fridge I don't mind, a week with a cooler was too much and I promised myself to not do it again. I doubt they will stick me in a disabled room for 10 nights. Hopefully they will just cart the fridge into a king room for me, I am most likely just over thinking it..

I looked into the fridge swap but, I think it may have died off/ lost the fridge.

Thanks for your help :thumbsup2

There are more than 1 Fridge Swap for Pop !What are your dates I will check availability on the 1 I am on for August!!

we are going to be staying at POP for the first time in a few weeks, I'm wondering what's the best way to get to Cape May Buffet?

There's a Thread devoted to just that The Best Way to get from Point A to Point B !!My guess is check the Transportation boards !! Any way quickest way is always a cab !!But you would need to bus it to a Park and then take another bus to the Restaurant!!

Thanks Bo Peep.

I think the majority of King rooms are disabled. And if they don't have any available, you won't get one. There is no gaurenttee and I have heard many people request a king room and not get one, so just be prepared that you may not get one. Also the hihger chance that if you do get a King room it will be an assessible room

There are 81 non disabled king bed rooms and 63 disabled king rooms. Last summer all was fine and I had a great room and I am sure this summer will be the same. I might save the 120$ and take the fridge rental off when I call next week to pay the last 200$ off my trip! Last summer I had a thin crappy cooler, I think I might get one of those thick Styrofoam ones and hope it insulates better.

The first time we went to Disney we did not have a preferred room. We were in the 90's building. We got very tired of the walk. You can cut across the parking lot from the buses and that does save some time but not much. The first couple of times we walked from the front to our rooms it wasn't so bad but after a few days we were tired! The resort is not small by any means! We now always pay for preferred because we like being close to the front by the food court, buses, hippy dippy pool, etc. We have always paid preferred since that first trip!

We always do preferred room, and we love it. Close to the main building, buses and the Hippy Dippy Pool. We wouldn't have it any other way. We always request bottom floor too. We love to be in the middle of all the comings and goings. :yay:

We have stayed at POP the past 3 trips and are staying there again in May.:goodvibes We have never payed for a preferred room and probably never will. Many of the preferred rooms overlook the pools. They can be lively at all hours. We have stayed in the 90's, 60's and 50's and have never had more than a 3-5 minute walk to a pool and 5-7 minute walk to the main building. :)

I checked aad neither is open those dates but if you go to the Budget board there maybe more !!

Thank you for checking, I am going to get a better cooler this year. Hopefully it will be less headache, the one I brought last summer was really thin and poorly insulated.

Thanks again!

If you don't book a preferred room can you upgrade to one when you get there? I'd like to see where my standard room first before I decide.

Couple of questions

1. Do the rooms at Pop Century have balconies?

2. I thought I saw somewhere that the laundry facilities were near the 50's, is this correct? As much as I hate the thought of doing laundry on vacation, we don't have enough space for 10 days of clothes (we are flying and can only bring one suitcase each) and I really don't think my kids have enough clothes for 10 days.

3. What are the Goofy Jets? I'm assuming they are water jets that spary and the kids can run through them. Are they only for little kids to play in? My kids will be 8, 11 and 14.

4. Has anyone not gotten a request for a connecting room? We have opted to get two rooms rather than a family suite at Music. I am scared that we won't get that request and it is imperative for us! It makes me scared to request anything else. I'm thinking a lake view in either the 50's (because of laundry being close) or the 60's. I don't want to be viewing the pool because I wouldn't want it to be too noisy later in the evening with traffic.

5. My understanding that it really isn't much more than 5 or 6 minutes from anywhere to the main hall. Are the buses much further than that?

I know I have way more questions but I will post them as I think of them.

I can't wait to see Mickey!:hug::love:

Coupe of questions

1. Do the rooms at Pop Century have balconies? no, they are outside catwalks, all rooms open onto them

2. I thought I saw somewhere that the laundry facilities were near the 50's, is this correct? As much as I hate the thought of doing laundry on vacation, we don't have enough space for 10 days of clothes (we are flying and can only bring one suitcase each) and I really don't think my kids have enough clothes for 10 days. laundry is by the computer pool, that's the one we used last time

3. What are the Goofy Jets? I'm assuming they are water jets that spary and the kids can run through them. Are they only for little kids to play in? My kids will be 8, 11 and 14.yes they are jets, they don't always work though....not sure if there is an age limit

I don't want to be viewing the pool because I wouldn't want it to be too noisy later in the evening with traffic. have never tried for a connecting room - if you need to for your party size, I'm sure they will accomodate you

5. My understanding that it really isn't much more than 5 or 6 minutes from anywhere to the main hall. Are the buses much further than that?not really, but after a long day in the parks any extra walking might seem longer than it really is

I know I have way more questions but I will post them as I think of them.

I answered in red have fun planning!

Thanks guys. No worries, I have allears and many other sites bookmarked for quick access.

I managed to answer my own question by going back to the first page. I saw that there is laundry in the service building (or whatever it is called) for all the pools. Either way, now I gather there is laundry nearby anywhere there is a pool.

So, new question, if the rooms have catwalks, that means that the door to your room opens directly to the outside, right?
