The Hippy Dippy pool is going to be closed from Feb 14 through "mid March" according to the letter several of us who are booked for that time period received. If you didn't get one, maybe you're booked late enough in the month that they anticipate it being re-opened before you arrive.

Thanks for the quick reply. I just booked this trip two days ago and then heard about the closure. We are arriving March 9th - no worries about the pool, I'm sure we'll enjoy the others if it's not re-opened by then. :)

Scrapbooqueen-- We usually request a top floor on the far side of the building from the pool. We request top floor for 2 reasons. First, you are off the ground so you don't hear as much happening as families walk across the facility. Second, because the toilets are noisy when they flush, you won't hear the toilet or the footsteps above you.

Just got to POP. Did online check in 10 days ago. Got all of my requests...ground floor, 60's, facing lake. (then I changed it to 50's, ground facing lake. I felt out of place in the 60s. Never stayed in any building other than 3...I'm a creature of habit). Weather is warm, a little humid...perfect!

No, thats not suggested.
You should put your request in with your reservation right away.
But now Disney has gone to a computer assigning rooms, so not sure if any requests will be met anymore.
Also a lot of people who want a certain area, have decided that online check in isn't best, because if you want to make changes it holds up the faster online check in line.

I hope this isn't true! I made my request for the 50's building when I made my reservation with our TA. I called Pop! recently to reserve a fridge and to request a certain building and was told to call back 10 days prior to arrival to complete the process. I hope I wasn't mislead. I do all of my planning for trips as far ahead as possible so I can hopefully get what we prefer and to get the best deals.
One way or the other we will have a blast, I'm not losing sight of why we're there but most resorts/hotels will be happy to grant special requests if possible and I hope Disney does the same!

glad you made it and got your requests!! have a great time, tell Mickey we will see him soon!

Oh my gosh....we arrive tomorrow at noon!!! Can't wait, ah that familar smell of POP Century!! I could live on it.

So hoping we get our requests. Was hoping for a new mug but guess that isn't gonna happen. I can see it now though, if I buy my mug and they release the new one while I am there....ugh. I have nightmares that will happen. LOL :rotfl:

Have a great time!!!! I cannot wait to go back. I'm kind of secretly more excited about our POP stay then our Poly one.

Good luck with getting all your requests and hope that the new mug does NOT come out while you're there...maybe they will magically release it over night tonight :)

Ok, I know exactly why they told you this. Because you booked through a TA. They can't do anything with your reservation till about 10 days out when you book with a TA. The TA is the owner of yourreservation. You can call your TA and have them reserve the frig now though for you. And if you have your requests in with your TA, you should be good, as long as she added them to your reservation. Of course nothing is guaranteed. If you want a certain building, you have to have your TA call.

Also when you call, you are only getting a call center, not Pop itself. And sometimes they are not all well informed.

Going on a last minute trip with my sister. I am looking forward to another stay at POP. I think I am more excited to have a few days to spend with my sister at WDW. We only see each other once or twice a year and there is no better place to do that than WDW!

Thank you for this--I'll send her an e-mail tomorrow.pirate:

Where do you usually place your empty luggage inside the POP rooms?

I could not locate a picture showing the luggage storage space, if any.

We will be carrying three 26", one carry on and a couple of backpacks.

Thank you!

we put the carry on bags on the top of the racks in the "closet" area. Our suitcases were on the bottom and another underneath the sink.

So I am looking at a chance to switch our resvp to POR for our Sept trip. Now, if you had a choice and money was not a option here would you switch?. Some stats, we are staying for 9 nights, then moving over to the hard rock for 4 nights. Its two guys:cool1:, me:) and my DS:woohoo:(18yo). I am really:confused3 stuck between my love of POP:love: and trying POR again. Are very frist time stay at WDW was at POR,but since then we have stay at POP. I love the atmosphere of POP the colors and fun it just throws at you every step of the way. POR from what i remeber, it being so laid back beautfull surrondings and the walk along the river:hippie:. So I am stuck, what would you do:confused3:goodvibes

I've settled on this one for alot of reasons - atmosphere, buses, food court, people! Unless you like to use jacuzzis or pool slides, I'd rather have the extra money to spend on WDW products!:surfweb:

I have a question concerning the POP's cake services that I'm hoping someone could help with :(

We're going to be celebrating a birthday on our trip in March, and we really wanted to do something special for the birthday boy with the cake. Get one of those amazing, fantastic cakes that people see when they eat at the Grand Floridian, the Contemporary, etc. However, we aren't eating at any of the places that would be serviced by those bakeries.

I saw on here that the Grand Floridian Bakery works with the POP for the cake services. I tried calling the cake hotline for the resort but they said the only options are six and eight inch plain cakes in chocolate or vanilla, a mickey head cake, or a ten inch screen printed cake in chocolate or vanilla. She didn't seem to understand what I was talking about when I asked the question about a specially customized cake though; she was more focusing on the number of people in our party.

So is it true? Can we not order a fancy cake at the POP either, or does the Grand Floridian deliver those special, fondant customized cakes to the POP? And, if they do, how do I go about getting an order for one in? :confused3

Woo hoo! Countdown is at 38 days. Can't come soon enough for me. We're expecting a blizzard with upwards of 2 ft of snow in the next 48 hours. Ah, how I wish I were already at WDW!

Now if I can just get this darn ear infection to go away and keep everyone healthy til' then.

Still trying to decide if I should keep CRT or just stick to Akershus. We did both last time, and the girls are really princessy, but is CRT really worth 2 TS to me? Can't decide....:confused3

We had ordered a cake for my daughters birthday to be delivered to the room at Pop, I have a photo on my face book I hope this link gets you there to see what it looks like. The cake was very good and I would do it again no question.
