I just booked Pop too for Sept-Oct and couldn't decide on where I wanted to stay either. I have read many posts to see where people recommend and I decided on bldg 3 or 4, 4th floor, lake view. But we will be at Disney so where ever is better than here in all the snow!

Hi all!

I "pop" in here once in a while to see what's going on, but rarely post. Had to say though - we're down to 43 days til' check in at Pop. Can't wait - so excited!

Requested 60's not pool facing, so hopefully we'll get it even with the new computerized system. Have all my ADR's, and touring plans ready to go.

Can't wait to get back! Definitely going to try the twinkie tiramisu this time!

My only concern is we're getting in so late...plane doesn't land til' 11:14 - I'm afraid we won't even get to the room til 1 am or so - probably end up with the worst room possible. But, hey the worst room at WDW is better than a snowy day in WI!

We did have our AAA lady put the request in. To be safe, I paid to have a preferred room reservation. My only concern is I don't want to be pool facing. I'm also hoping the hippy dippy pool is open by the time we get there. We check in the night before it's supposed to. If not it will be a hike to the other two pools.

Just looking forward to getting there at this point and hope Magic Express is quick at that time of the night and we're not waiting around for a very long time waiting for the bus to get half full. After working all day then traveling all night, I'm going to want a bed! Plus, gotta get up early the next day to hit the parks!

I would bet that if you call Pop and asked them to put a note on your reservation about your MIL's knee issues, they would do their best to get you a close room. It's worth a shot, right?

Remember any calls to the direct resort number actually go to a call center, not the resort (my friend works in the call center). The Call Center will answer for the resort and will not let on to is not the actual resort. The CM can add any requests for you too.

Even from the room, when you press front desk, it goes to the call center.

Rooms are not actually yours until you check-in and pick up your keys - even with on line check-in. Another guest could request a different room and the CM could give them the one assigned to you.

When you arrive, before your keys are made up, ask about your room and location and if not what you hoped for, ask if they could change to an area you hoped for.

How are you feeling? Found out today me and dd have strep throat. At lease we got our antibiotics BEFORE we left for Disney!

Last year, we got there at 9:00 pm, and 6 of us got on the bus together - and the bus left with only us in it. I'm not sure if they knew nobody else was scheduled to come in, but we didn't wait for anyone else.

Sorry to hear you and dd aren't feeling well but glad you are on the mend. (Don't forget to throw away old toothbrushes.) With all this snow my kids haven't been in school but now I'm thinking maybe that's not a bad thing with all the colds going around.

This time tomorrow we'll be at the airport getting ready to enjoy our first stay at POP....so excited Don't know how I'm going to sleep tonight

I'm so jealous of those of you who are going so soon! I booked our Pop part of our trip last night and at the request of my 4 year old, requested the 60's building. I hope since it's a slower time that we are able to get it.

I have a feeling that we will keep coming back to Pop as the girls loved it so much when we were there in November

Yes Tammi sorry as well to hear yous are sick. Hope yous are feeling better now that you have antibotics. I am also in the same boat..not streph but everything else. But at this point I don't care becauase tomorrow we will be in Disney. I am so excited I will drag myself to the airport regardless of how I feel.

I'll be a POP May 30 - June 10 with my 13DD. It is a Mommy and Daughter trip. We are so very excited!!!! Any suggestions as to where we should request a room? I know that it cannot be guaranteed. Would prefer a nice view. Did not request a preferred room. It's now the start of my countdown. Any suggestions, tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yippee....19 more hours for me! We are much better, thanks! Antibiotics - the miracle drug! DH is getting a script from the doctor just in case he gets it while we're away!

Boys27: My doc also told me to throw out toothbrushes tonight (after 24 on the meds). Never heard that before!

depends on what you like, we always request 4th floor away from the pools, don't like the pool noise at night, but we do preferred, like being closer to the bus and food court after a long day at the parks!
have you looked at the first post for the layout of the resort? there is lots of great info there!
you'll love the POP, this will be our 3rd stay!!

Does anyone know anything about one of the pools at Pop being refurbished in February? How long would/could that take? I don't think it's a big as there is more than one pool - but just wondering....

The Hippy Dippy pool is going to be closed from Feb 14 through "mid March" according to the letter several of us who are booked for that time period received. If you didn't get one, maybe you're booked late enough in the month that they anticipate it being re-opened before you arrive.
