Thanks chocovrdmicears and MommytoaSweetie, just planning this trip has been a thrill in itself, it seems like this last week is going to be a long one, but we will keep busy with work and school, i will try to relax but just so excited. I
This is my family's first trip to Disneyworld, We will be there from Feb 13-18th. At first I was a little confussed but after reading this thread and some FAQ's on Disney's mom panel, I figured out the difference between Room Only and Packages. I call Disney this morning for the first time to add a day to my vacation( I orginally booked online) and talked to a CM that was sooooo nice and helped me with everything, making sure I had everything I needed and nothing I did not want. Since we are about 9 days away, I could do the online check-in but have read it may not be necessary. I have booked dinner reservations for the times we want ( I did this a couple of months ago). I rented the double stroller from Magic Stroller, reserved horseback riding for my DD18and DD13, BBB for my DD5 and DD4,even our customized maps have arrived. Now I do not know what else to do to make sure we have magical time....any suggestions?

One thing we found out about on our last trip that our daughter and her friend loved was waking up Tinkerbelle. Be at MK at the rope drop and when everyone else is making a bee line for the rides go to the Tinkerbelle store right behind the castle. If you are the first ones in, ask if you can wake her up. It is truly magical with glitter and the girls get a certificate for waking her up. It is one of those fun hidden treasures at MK!
There is a food court manager named Kevin at Pop. Ask him. They don't have any cheesecake labeled sugar-free in the fridge that I've seen, but that doesn't mean they dont' have it. They have lactaid milk available, but you have to ask for it. He said they keep much of the special diet items in the back so that they don't get contaminated or mixed up with the regular versions. Kevin is very helpful. There is also a woman manager, but I don't remember her name. I just walked in and spotted Kevin and he got me my lactaid milk... and without charge too! The cheesecake is very bright!I heared they have an awesome tye dye cheesecake in the foodcourt. Do you know, can they make a sugar free (or very low sugar) cheesecake for this?

When was your last trip? I heard that when they closed Tinkerbell's shop for renovation (re-imaginging) they would no longer have that option. One trip of ours, I noticed the shop blocked off, and the next time I went in, I didn't see any evidence that they still had her in there like that. Better to double check than be disappointed.
Hey all-just got back from our best trip ever at Disney! Had rm 6110 and it was a great location. We'd requested 1st floor Hippy Dippy poolside, got 1st floor but not the other. Checked in about 930pm and they didn't have polside that eve, but called a little later saying they had one the next day if we wanted to move. Once we got to our room, we were happy with the location and just wanted to get settled so we called and let them know we were perfectly content!
The CMs were all very nice and helpful! Bus service was great all week, never waited more than 10'minutes and usually alot less. Food court busy and chaotic but manageable. Only very minor frustration was the morning we were leaving, I wanted to chi in to airtram and print boarding passes and knead told to go outside, then they told menu needed to be inside...
All in all, it was phenomenal, Pop was perfect and we'll definately be back (hopefully sooner than later).
Ah back from another wonderful stay at POP. Was there 1/30-2/5, building 4 the 60's and got our request of a king bed.
Was great!! The bed was one of the best I have slept on in years, the room was very nice. Love the new colors and decor. And have to say the curtain is great, it kept our room cooler without having to turn the air lower.
Only draw back is we were by a maintanence parking for the crew, every morning about 6am we heard some crazy driving but went right back to sleep. No kids with us, so that makes a difference.
DH couldn't pull me out of the gift shop, I just love that store. I think it is the best on property, at a resort anyway. And the smell when you enter it....just heaven!!!
We enjoyed some of the best CMs at POP, Alfie at check in, Sonya at the gift shop and Crystal a night supervisor, all went way beyond "magic" for us and made our trip even better.
Anyway we are in recoop mode now...home to over 12 inches of snow, 28 degrees and still snowing....I miss the sun!!!![]()
I just booked my dad a solo trip in march for his 72nd b-day. He would only let us book a value, and though he's never stayed at Pop (he had been at all the all stars in the past) from what I've read so far I think it will be great for him- does anyone have any advice or ideas? He isn't on a dining plan, but does have a tiw card so I think he will get a discount in the food court with it. He's so excited- we just did the "reveal" this weekend.![]()
Sounds great, thanks! Is there a room request you think would be good- he won't let me book him preferred, but Outside of that? I just want to do what I can to make this the best trip ever for him
He is in pretty good shape for his age, and I think he'll just be happy to be there to be honest- I think he would really enjoy a lake view probably- do the buildings have elevators? I don't know about walking up 3 flights of stairs on a regular basis- he's fit but that might be pushing it just a bit![]()
