Can I make room requests when I check in online or do I need to do it by phone? I can't remember if there is a section to do that online.

Anyway recently back from POP......do the rooms have coffee makers after the renovation?

I was there when the renovations were 80% complete (September 2010) and I was in a refurb room. At that time, no coffee maker in the room.

What I forgot to mention is that I would just change your preferred to standard as there is really no difference in the room itself.

As she states, there is no difference in the room - it's only the location.

Kinda silly questions...

we will arrive at resort somewhere around 9ish pm. What time does the gift shop close? I have been debating on ordering my dd her autograph book and lanyard early, but i think she would rather pick her own out.

Also, are the lanyards and autograph books the same at the resort as they are in the parks?

Got a letter in the mail today, just a heads up (forgive me if it was already posted):

The Hippy Dippy pool is going to be shut down beginning Feb 15 thru "early March".

I thought about requesting a room facing the lake in the 60s building, but looking at the Pop map, it didn't seem like any of the lake views, in any area, were actually preferred rooms? Can anyone clarify that for me? Also, how is the construction going across the lake at the new resort? If we were to get a lake-view room, would we get a daily viewing pleasure of cranes and construction noise? Sorry for all my annoying questions...

Ultimately, none of this is THAT important. I'm just so stinking happy to be heading back to my happy place, that they could set me up in a tent outside The Magic Kingdom, and I'd probably be happy as a clam.

We never booked preferred rooms at pop. I don't think it is really needed. IMO the resort is really compact. But then again we have never stayed in the 80's or 90's.

That is correct. All of the rooms facing the lake are standard.

With requests it's always important to remember that the more you add, the less likely you are to get exactly what you want. I always start with the most important first. For example at Pop I always request "First floor, in the 60's, facing the pool."

First floor is my primary request, then the 60's section, and if I can get pool facing then great. If not, no big.

So, if I wanted Lakeside w/ a shot at a fireworks view... I would do something like.

"Lakeside, 4th floor, fireworks view"... and not mention any particular building?

(Quiet is most important to me for LOs naps. So, lakeside and 4th floor seem key from what I've read...) Again, all this is just gravy. I'll be happy wherever. I'm getting to go to DISNEY!!!

Not every building facing the lake can you see the fireworks. I think the best view for fireworks would be the 50's section facing the lake.

I know...I'm on the edge of my seat!!! I cannot wait to post on my Facebook page tomorrow that I'm down to single digits! The weather has been improving every day since I've been checking it. But, as my husband pointed out....I'll take a cool rainy day in Disney over any kind of day in New Jersey!

I think I'm going to check-in online tonight....just because it makes it will make it feel even closer! I cut out all my Mickey decorations last night for the door/window - I am super excited! I'm requesting 50's (bldg 3) or 60's (bldg 4) - ground floor.....what about you? Just trying to get a sense of where you'll be!!!!!!!

Thats not to bad. Sat rain doesn't bother me cause we are just do downtown that night so no park. I just wish it would crack the 70 mark sometime while we are down there.

I live in Tampa, and am headed to POP the 21st for a three day weekend with my wife to celebrate her Birthday. I am happy to report that despite the forecasts that have been floating around, the weather the last couple of days has been GORGEOUS. The great thing about FL is that if you are unhappy with the weather, it will change in about 20 min and most anything forecast to be in the upper 60's will usually end up in the 70's for a while, enough to enjoy a day at least

I never do online check in. At pop I don't think there is really a need to. They handel the flow of incoming guest way better than any moderate or deluxe we have stayed at.

Hi Ladies, Can you believe it's almost here I'm looking forward to meeting you and your families. We decided to take the ME to POP so we'll probably catch up with you then if not before hand in the Philly airport.

I keep telling myself that whatever weather Disney has during our week, it has to be better than what's going on here at home. However, I'm really praying for no rain

We asked for connecting rooms in the 70's section. Don't know if I'd rather have 1st floor for the convenience with stroller or 4th floor for the quietness so I figure whatever they give us is what is meant to be.
