We just booked our February trip and air travel! So excited- we are staying at Pop for the first time (only have been to Disney once and stayed at POR). It will be me, DH, DS (5) and DD (2) we will be there from Feb 2-Feb 11th

Any tips on a longer stay?

Yeah!!!! You are going to love it. We are going to be there at the same time, we are there from Feb 3rd to the 15th :)

Hey everyone

This will be our first time at Pop and from what I hear magnets will stick to the doors but what about the window frames?

Thanks.. can't wait!!!

ok so I know everyone gets tired of the same questions but I am gonna ask anyway;).We have 2 preferred rooms 6 middle aged(cannot beleive I just called myself that)women and need to be close to a dsa and do not know what building area we should request.Of course do not want to be far from main building/but do not care to walk at all just want a suggestion as to what building would be best for older people without children(of which I have 3 grown kids and grandchildren so I do not mind kids at all)and possibly not request rooms that someone with kids would be better suited for their needs.
My daughter and I went in 2008 and stayed in the building by the big wheel I guess its not preferred but sure felt like it to us was close to main building/bus stop, really liked that location. So any suggestions?

the non-preferred parts of the 70's building 10 (70's are buildings 10 and 6) are very close to buses and Everything Pop. We stayed in 0125 once and it was in the center of the building, so we just walked through and we were right there. However, I do want to say that when we stayed in August, we were in building 6, 2nd floor and the elevator was there at the touch of a button, so waiting for the elevator was not even an issue. I no longer request 1st floor. In fact, I liked floor 2, we had a nice view of the courtyard.

oops yes I meant 70's by the Big Wheel- building 10 very close to the Classic Hall- ask for that one

to me, the 70's (by the bigwheel) is to far from any DSAs. (unless you are close to the one by the lake. but there is no DSA in the 70s section.
we like the 50's , the bldg by the lake, casue you can walk either to the dsa in the 50s courtyard, OR th eone near the 50s bldg, by the lake.

Can I request a King Size bed at Pop if I have a non Preferred Room?? I want a King size bed but didn't pay extra for a Preferred.

As long as you have two people in the room (or 2 adults and one under 3 years of age), then certainly make that request! King rooms are spread throughout the resort. Just keep in mind, it's a request - not a guarantee. From discussion on this thread and others, it seems to be a request that is commonly not filled.

At the pool bar place what forms of payment are accepted? Can you charge to your room? Can you use a gift card? Thanks so much.

This may be a really stupid question, but I'm going to be calling soon to put in my room request (as well as fax a few days before we leave) and I'm wondering if the ENTIRE 60's section is preferred? We're doing standard and I just want to be closer to the Classic Hall/main pool since we'll have 2 little ones and that will make life easier.

If they are all preferred rooms, what other buildings would you recommend? We'll have a double stroller so would also prefer ground floor. Thanks!

Only part of the 60s is preferred. The first post of this Groovier thread has a link to a preferred room map.

It can be difficult to find that map in post #1 so here's the link to the map;

Thanks for the link - I was looking at the map and I was having trouble if the yellow areas were for the whole building or not. ;) But now I know, only part of the 60's is preferred. Thanks again! :goodvibes

Does anyone know if the POP refurbs are done now? TIA

Still waiting on 50's building 2 refurb room reports to know if the renovations are done or getting close to done. That's the last building in the refurb.

Excellent plan. I love my refillable mugs. I have quite a few. I have the ones from 2005 from All Star Music, before they went with all resort mugs being the same. I have the Year of a Million Dreams and I have the set from this past trip in August. I also have ones from Colonial Willaimsburg and Royal Caribbean Cruise lines. I'm running out of cabinet space for them all. Its worth it though. Did you know that Pop has the largest selection of beverages to put in the refillable mugs?! It does! :yay:

Really? Cool! What beverages does PC have that others don't? I've been there 3 times in the last 3 years and we are going back in mid Febuary - like coming home for us now! :cool1:
I do wish they would bring back apple juice. I don't like to drink soda pop all the time and the lemonade tastes fake. The iced tea is nice though.

Hopelea--we were there two years ago at holiday time and my husband was in a walking boot so we got lighted holiday bracelets for us and a lighted necklace for him to wrap around the boot. (You can find these at dollar stores--they have a switch on them.) He was a hit at night especially with the kids in strollers(who were closer down to the boot) and it made everyone more aware so they didn't bump into him:thumbsup2!

Question about the iced tea--what flavors of tea do they have? I, too, do not drink soda.

It's Gold Peak tea and there's four choices. I am pretty sure the picks are sweetened regular tea, unsweeted regular tea, green tea, and decaf tea. But I am not certain about the decaf choice.

UPDATED: the following poster has the four choice: white citrus.

This is what the FAQ has listed:

cold Gold Peak tea (black (aka regular) sweetened, black unsweetened, green sweetened, and white citrus)

Has anyone tried the white citrus? I don't really drink a whole lot of sodas myself, and we have refillable mugs with our package!
