I have not seen the pop jets open for a few years now. We were there last August - it was hot-hot- hot and they were not on all week

They weren't working last March and it was warm enough for them. Dec. '08 was cold and they weren't on. I believe they were on in October '04, but that was a long time ago.

Thanks for the info. I will prob call tomorrow just to ease my mind.

The online check in asks you about pack and play/crib, near buses, ground floor, and one more that i cant remember.

Wow. They didn't work back in 08 either? That's ridiculous.

I believe the pp's are correct. You will need to call your TA...Disney won't talk to you about your reservation because you TA owns it. Even if they are noted on your reservation there is still a very good chance that no one will see it as the room assignments are done by a computer. But you can always ask when you check in if there are any rooms available where you want. We had room requests on our reservation in Aug and when we checked in we were placed on the opposite side of resort. We asked if there were any rooms available and they moved us to the 50's. :)

When we were there the end of August they were working. :confused3

A few Pop food questions:

Does a cup of fruit count as a snack credit on the DP?

Do scrambled eggs count as a snack credit?

Do they sell individual serving applesauce?

What comes with the French toast and the Waffle platters? Eggs and Potatoes?

Thanks! Working on our food budget for our Sept trip!:cool1:

Scrambled eggs do not count as a snack credit.
I believe the Waffle Platters (do they have French Toast? I don't remember seeing it but that doesn't mean it isn't there;)) come with either sausage or bacon.
:)

ETA: Just checked on Allearsnet and I guess they do have a French Toast platter! I assume that would be the same as the waffles - bacon or sausage as a side.

They must leave it up to Mickey magic whether or not they work!:wizard:

Pop jets were working both times we were at pop both at the end of September.

Do you know the hours the POP "restaurant" is open? If I show up, let's say, at 10:30pm, could I be able to have some table service meals for dinner?

Thank you!

Not table service credits, but they will tak Counter service

Wow. They didn't work back in 08 either? That's ridiculous.

They worked for us all 3 trip (07,08, and 09) but not running at all times. I haven't been since 09 so not sure whats up with them now.

Have read a few posts about how crowded/crazy the Pop food court can be, especially in the AM. Can anyone elaborate on that as far as what time it starts to crowd up in the morning? We will probably be looking for breakfast around 730am during our May trip (parks open at 9). Is that "prime time" or will we be ahead of the crowds?

Same question for after the parks when they all close by 9pm during the middle of the week - will the food court be busy as everyone returns to the hotel at the same time?

And how crowded is crowded? Are we talking busy/loud (which I don't mind at all) or no seats available after waiting in line 15+ minutes to get food and check out? Our only previous experience is with the POR food court a few years ago and it was cafeteria style where you get what you need then check out and pay before sitting. Is it the same thing?

What time does the food court start serving breakfast? Can I get it "to go"? With 2A and 1C in the room will we be able to eat in there without tripping all over ourselves?

Thanks!

Yes you can get it to go. I almost never ate at the food court. either in our room or out by the pool

Hi Sharona,
We stayed at the Pop for 9 days during a fairly busy week in August. It was busy at the food court but I never had trouble finding a seat. There are always people getting up and there are plenty of seats. In fact, we always found an empty table no matter how early or late. There are plenty of people in line for food during the busy times, but they really move people through well. So, its crazy busy, but only in the sense that there are tons of people there. You will still find a seat and you'll still get through the line fine. The room has a small round table with 2 chairs. You could take your food on the trays back to the room and eat there... but then you wouldn't have immediate access to the coffee refills! Whether you will be tripping all over yourselves depends on how much luggage and stuff you bring with you. We are not known for packing light, so we trip all over ourselves with 2 adults and 1 child. We bring all manner of unnecessary things. We drive down in a van, so I always think... "oh we might as well bring it just in case!". It drives my scoutmaster husband crazy because scouts are "pack what you can carry"! :sad2:

My DD8 loved eating inside the food court because there were flat screen TV's on the walls with Disney shows playing all the time. Eating out by the pool is nice, but watch out for bees!

Well, I don't think we'll be getting any scout badges for our packing skills! It's a grandmother/mother/daughter girls only trip for Mother's Day so there will be plenty of luggage and "stuff" laying around I'm sure. We'll manage :)

Thanks Mindy!

My only request this time was NOT the 70's. It's too hard to actually get the building you want so I figure I should just tell them the building I don't want. :)

Thank you! That is what I meant to say... "Counter Service", not table service... I think I got "lost in translation"...

I also have concerns like DIS member sharona about sitting for breakfast at 7:30am, is that OK with crowds? We are going after Columbus day. What about 9pm or 930pm for dinner? Is it crowded?

:thanks:

Hey Everyone,

We just got back a few days ago from our 3rd trip to Disney but our first stay at POP. We LOVED everything about POP:thumbsup2 The weather was perfect (mid to upper 70's, no rain) and the parks were empty!!!:cloud9:

We took ME to and from POP. From the time we landed, it took us 2 hours to reach our room. However, we collected our luggage ourselves and brought them with us to the bus because we wanted to have them right away.

We asked for standard, connecting rooms (family of 5) in the 70's section, all of which was granted. We were in building 6 (Mickey Phone), second floor, facing the lake. We found it to be a great location...quiet, close to the food court, and a quick trip to the buses when you cut through building 10.

The frig wasn't in room upon arrival but it was there within 15 minutes when we called housekeeping for it. We had food/liquids delivered to hotel which was kept cold until we asked for it (again, at most, 15 minutes from the time the phone call was made).

The only time we ate in the food court was on arrival day (yummy dinner!) and when the kids wanted to use their snack credits on milkshakes. We were glad we had the breakfast food already in our room since mornings looked pretty crowded in the food court (that saved us a lot of time getting out the door and onto the buses.)

The only problem that occurred was on our last night while eating our last "table service meal" (dinning plan). We were charged extra "table service meals" earlier in the week and we didn't notice it (note to self...check receipts). When giving the waitress our room cards it came back that we didn't have enough table service meals to cover the dinner. In the end, we charged those meals not covered to our room and once we got back to POP they were able to look at all the places we ate to see where the mistake took place and took off the charges from the restaurant (fyi...the man at the front desk said we made it all much easier since we paid cash for the tip and extras not included in the dinning plan).

All in all, for those going to POP in the future...you are gonna LOVE it:thumbsup2

AND....IT WAS GREAT TO MEET YOU AND THE FAMILY! STAY IN TOUCH! (I'm not on much anymore, but you have my cell and email!)

Here's my experience with Everything Pop! during September and November visits:

In the morning, I usually make two coffee runs, one early around 7am and one later around 8:30-9. At 7am the food court is relatively quiet, not dead but easy to get around. During my second run, the food court seems like a mad house by comparison - lots of activity. That said, it's not jammed, and you can still get seating. There's tons of seating in Everything Pop! inside and outside, and if all else fails, just take your tray back to your room.

In the evenings, the food court does seem rather busy in the later hours, but same thing -- despite all the activity, you can still get your food and get a seat.

Thanks for the jets info. Hopefully they'll be working when we're there! It's odd that they're shut off often. I always see the ones in the parks and DTD working just fine ...

Hey DZ buddy, it was great meeting you and your family as well. I must say, team Philly Dis Boards did a great job in the arcade :littleangel: I really enjoyed our pool side drinks and hope someday we can do it again!
